00:06Look, here when we fast – well, I don't fast too much, Anikadashi, but
00:15when the devotee fast normally I ask them only to drink Anikadashi.
00:24So, we have brought it to another level, you know, because here when Swami and Prabhu fast,
00:31they fast without eating. So, this is how we do it. When we fast, we fast without food.
00:41And, of course, there is a different other path. There is an Ikadashi food, you know,
00:48which is without grains, without certain things, you know, so you can follow that.
00:56Either or, you see, what is the most important thing in Ikadashi
01:02is the elevation of your mind and consciousness.
01:08You know. It's not the food itself as much, but it's that consciousness itself.
01:16You know, in Ikadashi day, yes, you are not eating or you are eating Ikadashi food,
01:21but if your attitude is the same,
01:26then nothing is changed.
01:30You know? It reminds me of a story of a squirrel.
01:37A squirrel, a squirrel,
01:41so, he, this squirrel befriended
01:46the king of the forest, a lion.
01:49And, of course, the lion gave the squirrel some task, which the squirrel did it wonderfully.
01:58So, when the squirrel did it wonderfully,
02:01the lion was very proud of him and said,
02:04ìListen, work with me.
02:08At the end of your life,
02:10at the end of when you retire from your service,
02:13I will give you a cart full of almonds.î
02:19that the idea of a cart full of almonds was amazing in his mind.
02:25So, that squirrel stayed
02:28and worked under the king, the lion,
02:32and will do everything what the lion said.
02:36At the same time,
02:37as he was doing what the lion was saying to him,
02:41and he was very devout,
02:43he was always envious about other squirrels,
02:49because they were free.
02:53They could jump from one branch to the other,
02:56they would run left, right, they were free to do whatever they want.
02:59But he could not. Even if he wanted to,
03:02he had to do it with dignity.
03:06So, in his mind he was very frustrated.
03:09He was very frustrated, you know,
03:12looking at others.
03:13Then he would think,
03:16ìOh,
03:19one day they will be envious about me.
03:23Once when I receive the punya,
03:26you know, when I receive the cart full of almonds, they will be envious about me.î
03:31So, this thought was playing inside of his mind, you know.
03:36Throughout the years, as years passed on,
03:38he became old
03:40and it was time for him to retire.
03:42So, when he announced it to the king, the lion,
03:46so the lion said, made a big banquet for him.
03:51And as promised,
03:53he offered him
03:54a cart of
03:57almonds.
03:58So, almonds is one of the nuts which
04:03not many scrolls have the chance to eat, you know.
04:06So, it was very happy and, you know.
04:09But when he saw the cart of almonds in front of him,
04:14in place of being happy and joyful,
04:17he was completely sad.
04:22because he had the cart of almonds,
04:24all these years he had only this dream of the cart of almonds.
04:28But when the cart of almonds was there,
04:31he realised that he didn't have any motive to eat it.
04:35So,
04:38you see,
04:40if you are doing
04:42a kadashi,
04:43you are fasting for a kadashi,
04:46and yet you don't
04:49change your attitude,
04:54what would you do?
04:56you know,
04:56just like the
04:59squirrel,
05:02at the end you will realise that
05:04nothing has changed inside of you.
05:09Fast on a kadashi.
05:11Eat the right thing
05:12which is prescribed
05:14for a kadashi,
05:15or don't eat anything
05:17during a kadashi.
05:19But at the same time,
05:20a kadashi is the time to connect yourself
05:23with the Lord.
05:24because it is said that
05:26on a kadashi day
05:28whatever you do,
05:29the little you do,
05:31the punya is great.
05:33You know.
05:34So, build up,
05:37walk every kadashi
05:39a few steps closer
05:41to the Lord, you know.
05:44Walk
05:45into that transformation
05:47of your mind,
05:49offer that mind
05:50to the Feet of the Lord.
05:53on a kadashi day.
05:54a kadashi is a transformation,
05:56you know,
05:57of this
05:58limited mind,
06:01you know,
06:02when that mind
06:03transforms,
06:04allows that mind
06:05to transform
06:06into Divine,
06:07you know.
06:09So, this is what you have to do
06:12on a kadashi day.
06:22is,
06:22the Lord is for a kiss.
06:23the Lord is for a kiss.
06:23on a kadashi day.
06:23to la kashi day.
06:25He will do
06:25on a kadashi day.
06:31He will do
06:32on a kadashi day.
06:33He will do
