01:17in the snow this is a first for me buddy this is a really cool potential client Adrian and Tim
01:23Adrian has inherited a 270 acre farm whoa so what's the family's goal man they want to empty this
01:32entire property and the house by the looks of it on the video the front yard is completely packed
01:39and they said the house is even worse beautiful farm country all around the most lovely area you
01:49could imagine and then there's all this in the middle of it hi I'm Adrian Fisher and this is Tim
01:56Fisher my husband my grandfather purchased the farm in the 1920s 270 acres and raised his family there
02:06which included my mom and my uncle my uncle started collecting things in the 50s and he went to
02:13auctions all the time and was very well known unfortunately when he passed away it became our problem to
02:22solve for scale sure I am standing beside it just at 510 it looks like there is a lot of
02:30good stuff in there a lot of like
02:31industrial architecture yeah the architectural salvage in that video looks insane it did there
02:37also there are a couple statues that could be worth a lot of money statues are a great way we

02:41money fast the size and condition can range anywhere from 50 to 200 thousand dollars oh my god and that's
02:49just in the yard I haven't been able to go into the front door in decades it's always been behind

02:58the house is so cluttered and so full I don't know where anything is but I know he's got some
03:05really cool bronze statues some old vases I think they're called swung vases he talked about a gold

05:31of theft okay so there's one thing you'll learn in hoarding is like everything is intentional usually
05:37they put a lot of the least valuable stuff up front to block it and to hide the good stuff

05:44they're telling us you can't even get into the house the front door and the back door are completely
05:48blocked and the steps upstairs are completely blocked there's a reason we can't let ourselves
05:54get fooled or overwhelmed with the size of this hoard all the hoarding principles everything we've
05:59learned in hoarding is still the same there's a bunch of stuff oh holy cow yes there is man
06:08this is insane there's the living room look at that well we got the front door open just enough
06:18for me to squeak in and I jump into the foyer and it's just boxes everywhere there's there's no space
06:24is that what that's the steps yes these are the steps so these are a beautiful set of steps
06:29upstairs upstairs is my uncle's bedroom as a kid my uncle roger's bedroom was off limits we would kind
06:38of look at it the door was always closed and wonder what was behind the door I always thought well

06:44where all the good stuff is all right let me get up here you can barely get three people in
06:49this house
06:49I mean that's how full this house is but we have to get upstairs that's where the money's gonna be
06:57I should put my gun uh-oh we got some valuables here though there's snow covered on everything
07:05that slows down the job a lot there are cabinets everywhere and it's 10 times harder because my hands
07:13are freezing a lot of this stuff is valuable a lot of it's not trash so we got to be
07:19real careful
07:27oh my gosh a lot of architectural salvage this stuff will sell look at these urns at first I was
07:41skeptical but we're already finding a ton of value in the yard and that's what gives me the confidence
07:46to say we're gonna find some really great things inside this house all right oh hey don't forget
07:50to wipe your boots we don't want to mess up the place oh I feel like I should wipe my

07:57leave out okay this must be the kitchen oh and look at all this one glass one of the big

08:08that we're looking for oh my god there's even more swunglass in here and there are some amazing pieces
08:30over here in the 1950s mid-century modern design put the fun in function but one accessory captured
08:37the era's space-age vibe perfectly the tall dramatically stretched silhouettes of swung glass vases to give
08:46these pieces their distinctive look a glass blower gathers molten glass from a furnace into a blow pipe
08:51the hot glass is blown into a short wide mold that gives the base its pattern while extremely hot the
08:58blower literally swings the piece downward gravity stretches the neck dramatically creating that
09:04signature elongated wavy form no two pieces are alike and mid-century modern enthusiasts still hunt for
09:11them today a white milk glass swung base recently sold at auction for over $7,000 as long as they're

09:19good condition it'll be some money or not enough to clean up to get to it better make a dent

11:02supposedly there's gold hidden somewhere so we could really strike it big I'm nervous I think we
11:09have just the potential is unlimited here I don't we have to take this one how do we walk away

12:55the driveway to this house is so long and so narrow we can't even get a truck to come in

13:06us to get anything done so Kalen and Mike are gonna work with the crew to first clear a space

13:11property for a dumpster to fit once that's done the next step will be to widen the path so we

13:16get a pickup truck all the way from the dumpsters to the house so we can drive our junk back
13:21and forth
13:22more quickly all right scrap it that's scrap sorry yeah we're gonna have to get this out of here
13:34the path to the house is super narrow it's like a goat trail so the junk team has to carry

13:40like three football fields just to get to the dumpster that slows them down and man my time
13:48is money once the path is wide enough for a trailer it's gonna be so much faster for the junk

15:56team have cleared about 700 square feet of space at the bottom of this driveway to drop a dumpster
16:02truck move you're good you're good oh my god we have spent all day in the snow and rain and

16:19we've done anything I guess the most demoralizing thing not fun at all but if that's what I got to
16:26do to get in this house I'm gonna do it our theory is that the good stuff is hidden upstairs

17:21Uncle Roger loved art made of metal and architectural salvage he's got tons of it in modern times if
17:28there's a building that's going to be torn down or renovated it is just bulldozed immediately with no
17:33concern for what's in or on the building but back in the day people would salvage doors windows columns
17:40fountains urns before they were destroyed the quality and craftsmanship that went into these
17:46elements of old buildings will never be made again they can be worth a lot of money what is
17:54this doing out here oh wow this is a Remington only one man could capture the wild west and cast

18:11fine art obsessed with depicting raw action of frontier life Remington studied anatomy horses and action
18:18photography to get every gallop and gun draw just right a rare cast of the sculpture coming through

18:32for big money and we've got to put in a little homework we're gonna be looking at the dimensions of
18:38it the quality of the casting and like the design of the base and other things to see if this

30:40of the beer stein Toby mugs originated in the 1700s in England as beer and ale cups modeled after real
30:47and fictional characters they're still highly collectible to this day a mug made in the 1780s
30:53recently sold at auction for 110 thousand dollars I think for the whole lot for the mugs and the
31:00steins we're looking at about 1500 it's not bad it's definitely not bad well the guys are working
31:09inside I need to make some serious sales in the yard we got the large Remingtons checked out looks
31:14like they're also reproductions but still the one thing people need to understand about Remingtons is
31:18you see them all over the place 90 of them are reproductions this is one of the few items where
31:24the reproductions are still very valuable they still sell and I know the perfect buyer to call
31:30this guy really knows this stuff he's down in Texas and he pretty much buys every Remington I find
31:35anywhere in the country all right George I'm looking at all these yeah I sent you pictures on everything
31:40there's about 20 reproductions in total most are the medium size and there's a few larger ones here's
31:46this awesome one dude look at this big one that thing is what is it almost four feet you know

31:51for me and this thing was out in the yard of this massive seven acre horde and I mean this

32:02of everything I've ever cleaned man this is the most epic horde I've ever cleaned in my 25 year career

33:38for the most part yes over the decades Roger attended our auctions that we had and also at
33:46at my store in Spokane so you're the auctioneer and he would come and bid on these lots correct when

33:54would come in we knew we were probably gonna have a pretty good night because once he got a bead

34:00something to take home he was taking it home is there any particular reason you want to buy this
34:06stuff back to decorate and to resell amazing the great thing about working with an auctioneer like
34:12this is that he knows the value of these items and he knows this is big money you know this

34:19here I think weighs about a ton and it's probably worth about three thousand dollars that being said with
34:25the whole yard full of them there's a lot of value here so what I'd really love to do is
34:29work out a

36:25I mean this is an old school 50s kitchen I'll tell you that yeah I remember my grandmother loved yellow
36:32I didn't know there was an island in the kitchen never seen the sink the stove and the windows I
36:39remember they were so bright the light that comes in that I remember as a child is just the brightness
36:48and the excitement of the day and family and what the day was going to hold there is still more

37:29my memories of being a kid and being in the house with the family it's really special some of my

37:37childhood memories are from here this place brings me a lot of peace I hope we've cleared enough space
37:43for you to have those memories again and you don't think of it as a hoarded house you think of
37:47it as a
37:47place your family was you've made that possible then my job is done oh my gosh I can't believe it

38:46challenging hoard we've ever done from the rain to the snow all these massive piles trying to climb
38:52upstairs through tunnels everything that could be a challenge was it's almost like we this was like
38:58the SATs of hoarding you thought there was good stuff here there was good stuff here he definitely
39:03had an eye in fact I actually found an eyeball upstairs it wasn't his we sold all those Remington statues
39:13beer steins books bunch of that swan glass the gold nugget we were looking for turned out to be gold

39:20oh what absolutely put us over the top was the architectural salvage $70,000 we got a deal deal
39:28thank you my friend Mike sold those amazing urns and all that salvage for $70,000 wow grand total of
39:35sales $150,000 we pulled out of the front yard and the house oh my gosh you're kidding no our
39:45cleanup costs
39:45we're at $50,000 that left us a hundred thousand dollars to split could you do 60 40 I could
39:52but I
39:52won't 50 50 50 so for you guys that's $50,000 and I am happy to give you a whole

40:03that's amazing this job was insane but the weather was probably as big a deal as the horde
40:13snow rain sleep hail but dude I'd do it again I'd do it tomorrow I can't thank you guys enough
