00:00A sister asked, if we are praying the three rakahs of Maghrib, should we recite a surah
00:04after Al-Fatiha in the first rakah, and then in the second and third rakahs, should we
00:09recite only Al-Fatiha or also add a surah?
00:12First of all, let me give you the answer.
00:14In the obligatory prayers, like Maghrib, in the first two rakahs, you must recite Al-Fatiha
00:19and also add a surah or a few verses after it.
00:22Then, when you reach the third rakah of Maghrib or the fourth rakah of Isha, you have a choice.
00:27It is mustahab highly recommended to recite only Al-Fatiha.
00:31However, if someone recites an additional surah with Al-Fatiha in the third or fourth rakah,
00:36it will be considered true que mustahab leaving the recommended act, but they will not be
00:40a sinner.
00:41Furthermore, our Hanafi scholars have stated that reciting Al-Fatiha in the third and fourth
00:45rakahs is only mustahab.
00:48Therefore, if someone recites Subhanallah three times instead of Al-Fatiha, that is also sufficient.
00:53But your statement that in the second rakah we only recite Al-Fatiha and then go into
00:58Ruku is a worrying matter.
01:00Look, you are at least an adult, mature, and accountable.
01:04This means that you have not properly learned the basic rules of Sharia.
01:08Asking questions is a very good thing, and I am not denying that.
01:12But listen carefully.
01:13The Holy Prophet peace be upon him said,
01:16When your child reaches the age of seven, command him to pray.
01:19And when he reaches the age of ten, beat him lightly disciplined for not praying.
01:23This command applies to both boys and girls.
01:26When our child turns seven, that is, enters his eighth year, we must command him to pray.
01:32And it is almost certain that we can only command him to pray when we have already taught him
01:37How to perform vudu, the rules of purity, the method of prayer, what to recite in each rakah.
01:44This means that Sharia requires us to have learned these basic rules by the age of seven.
01:49If we do not learn this knowledge and keep being careless, then if you make mistakes in your prayers,
01:53remember that two sins will be written in our record of deeds.
01:56One, the sin of not learning the basic religious knowledge.
02:00And two, the sin of the actual mistake you made in prayer.
02:02Therefore, I humbly request all my viewers, for the sake of Allah, please give importance to religious knowledge.
02:08At the very least, complete a course in the obligatory knowledge.
02:13This is extremely necessary for you.
