00:00Good evening, we begin with the escalating crisis in the Middle East, where the war between the
00:05Uz-Israeli alliance and Iran has entered a dangerous new phase. In the past 24 hours,
00:10the United States has announced a major military build-up. An additional 3,000 troops are being
00:16deployed to the central command region, joining 5,000 marines already in the Gulf. The objective,
00:22according to military officials, is to seize Iranian energy infrastructure and potentially
00:27capture strategic islands of the Iranian coast. Iran has responded with a stark warning.
00:32Any American operation on its soil would be met with the destruction of all its interests in the
00:37region. Tehran has also threatened to attack oil refineries belonging to his allies,
00:42driving global oil prices to $200 a barrel. Meanwhile, Iran has launched a significant
00:48missile barrage. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard cause-fired ballistic missiles at Israel,
00:53including ICBM-class weapons capable of reaching as far as London.
00:58Israeli air defence systems failed to intercept several missiles which struck the cities of
01:02Demona and Beersheba. At least 84 people were injured. Israel has acknowledged a failure in its
01:08defence systems and launched an investigation. Inside Iran, the situation is equally dire.
01:14Tens of thousands of political prisoners face execution as the regime continues its campaign
01:19of repression. International human rights organisations report that executions and public are happening
01:24almost daily. At the same time, Israeli warplanes have bombed areas near prisons, including even
01:31prison in Tehran, raising fears that prisoners could be killed either by airstrikes or by the regime itself.
01:37Amid this chaos, voices are calling for a popular uprising. Israeli leaders have urged the Iranian
01:43people to seize what they call a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to overthrow the Islamic Republic.
01:48Millions of Iranians, still reeling from the January crackdown that killed an estimated 37,000
01:54protesters, are said to be waiting for an eyes-backed military coup to end the dictatorship.
01:59The United States is drawing on lessons from recent operations, including the swift capture
02:05of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro in January. But military experts warn that Iran is a far more
02:11formidable adversary, with a powerful Revolutionary Guard cause that remains intact despite the loss of
02:17several top leaders. As of today, the US has approximately 60,000 troops in the Middle East,
02:23supported by 100,000 air assets. Two aircraft carriers were assigned to the region, but one
02:29has been sidelined by a fire, leaving a single carrier to project American power. With troops pouring in,
02:36missiles flying, and a nation on the brink of collapse, the coming days will determine whether
02:41this conflict spirals into a full-scale regional war, or whether a path to de-escalation can still
02:46be found. That is the situation for now. We will continue to follow these developments closely.
