The Jungle Book (1942), directed by Zoltan Korda, is a live-action adventure based on Rudyard Kipling’s classic stories. The film follows Mowgli (Sabu), a boy raised in the jungle by wolves, who lives among animals like Baloo and Bagheera.

When Mowgli returns to a nearby village, he struggles to adapt to human society, especially when greed and suspicion arise among the villagers. A legend about hidden treasure in the ruins of a lost city sparks conflict, and Mowgli is blamed for bringing chaos. Hunted by humans and threatened by jungle dangers—including the tiger Shere Khan—he must choose where he truly belongs.

Blending adventure, fantasy, and moral lessons, the film highlights themes of identity, greed, and harmony with nature.

Main Cast:

Sabu as Mowgli
Joseph Calleia as Buldeo
John Qualen as the Barber
Frank Puglia as the Village Headman
Rosemary DeCamp as Messua

A visually rich early adaptation of Kipling’s tale with strong storytelling and classic charm. 🌿🐅
