00:00Praise the Lord.
00:01I bring greetings to you all in the master's name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
00:06For where the two or three gathered in my name, I am in the midst of them.
00:12Though we might not be gathered in the presence of the Lord,
00:17but the Lord has given us the privilege to gather in our house,
00:21to thank God for all His grace,
00:24and to worship Him in spirit and in truth.
00:27Let's pray.
00:30Our Father in heaven,
00:32we exalt you and we lift up your name.
00:37We praise you for all the things what you have done
00:40and for who you are
00:42and what you have been doing in each of our lives.
00:46Dear Father,
00:48this morning as we prepare our hearts for your word,
00:51we pray and we ask you
00:53that as you said,
00:55that every word that proceeded out from my mouth,
00:57it never returns back to you in vain,
01:00but it brings fruit for those who receive it.
01:04As we eagerly wait for your word, Father,
01:07speak to us and guide us
01:09and lead us into the word of thy truth.
01:11In Jesus' name we pray.

01:16This morning, if you have your Bible with me,
01:19let's all open our Bibles to the book of Zechariah,
01:22chapter 9 and verse 9.
01:26Rejoice greatly,
01:28O daughter of Zion.
01:29Shout,
01:30O daughter of Jerusalem,
01:32because your king
01:34riding upon an ass
01:36and upon a cold,
01:37the fall of an ass.
01:40Two thousand years ago back,
01:42when Jesus was on this earth,
01:45before
01:45He bare
01:47the sins of all humankind,
01:50Jesus
01:52had predicted Himself,
01:55had made an announcing Himself
01:57that He was a Messiah
01:59and a king.
02:00He entered into the city
02:02of Jerusalem.
02:06Today, we are going to study on
02:08the book of Zechariah,
02:09chapter 9
02:10and verse 9.
02:12The background of the book of Zechariah
02:16is about when Zechariah
02:18had penned these words.
02:20Jerusalem was still in ruins.
02:25Babylonians came upon
02:26the city of Jerusalem,
02:29destroyed the temple of God,
02:31destroyed all the city
02:33and all the buildings
02:34of the city of Jerusalem
02:37in the 586 B.C.
02:40And by the grace of God
02:42upon the people of Jews,
02:44the Lord chose
02:46the king of Cyrus
02:47of Persia
02:48and Cyrus
02:50allowed
02:50and permitted
02:51the Jews
02:52to return back
02:53to the city
02:54of Jerusalem.
02:55And Jews
02:56had been written
02:57after 70 years
02:58of Babylonian captivity
02:59and they began
03:01to rebuild
03:02the temple of God
03:03and all the city
03:05of Jerusalem.
03:09But here
03:10in this passage,
03:12the prophet Zechariah
03:13has not been
03:14focused
03:16on a broken city
03:17but he has been
03:18focused
03:19on the city
03:20of Jerusalem
03:21and prophesied
03:23that the king
03:23of kings,
03:25that the Lord Jesus Christ
03:26is coming
03:27unto you.
03:31The king
03:32and his entrance
03:33will give
03:33a good news
03:35and will make
03:36the people
03:36to rejoice
03:37and to be happy
03:38and to be glad.
03:40that's what
03:40Zechariah said,
03:41rejoice,
03:43rejoice greatly
03:44your daughter
03:44of Zion,
03:45rejoice the people
03:46of Jerusalem,
03:47your king
03:48is coming
03:49to you.
03:50Behold,
03:51thy king
03:51cometh unto you.
03:53Who is
03:54thy king?
03:56Let's turn
03:57to Zechariah
03:57chapter 9
03:58and verse 9.

04:02of just.

04:04of righteousness.
04:06This morning,
04:07dear brothers
04:08and sisters,
04:08Jesus is the king
04:10of righteousness.
04:13There is no
04:14unrighteousness
04:15in him at all.
04:18The opposite
04:19word for righteousness
04:20is the wicked,
04:22is the unrighteousness.
04:24I'd like to bring
04:25before you this morning
04:26a wicked king,
04:27an unrighteous king
04:28in the Old Testament
04:32times that the king
04:33of Israel
04:34he is the Ahab.
04:37Ahab did evil
04:38in the sight
04:39of the Lord
04:40than any other
04:41king before him.
04:43Ahab married
04:44a foreign woman
04:45whose name
04:46called Jezebel
04:46and he worshipped
04:48the god of Baal
04:50and he built
04:50a temple
04:51to honor this god
04:53in Samaria.
04:54He also built
04:55many altars
04:56and idols
04:58and he named
04:59the idols
05:00Assyria
05:02and he allowed
05:03the women
05:04Jezebel
05:04to kill
05:05the godly priest
05:06and godly men
05:07like Naboth.
05:09He's such
05:10a wicked king
05:13but the god
05:13whom we serve
05:14the king
05:15whom we serve

05:16he's the king
05:16of kings
05:17and he's the king
05:18of righteousness.
05:22Zechariah is
05:23prophesizing
05:24and he is
05:24seeing the king
05:25of kings
05:25and the lord
05:26of lords
05:26that is Jesus

05:28of righteousness.
05:31Maybe the kings
05:32that who have
05:33ruled the nation
05:34of Judah
05:36they might not
05:37have been ruled
05:37them in a very
05:38righteous path
05:40but Zechariah
