00:00Free-to-play PvP raid shooter High Guard has released to a fair amount of critique this
00:04week, with its Steam review rating currently sitting at mostly negative. Among the complaints
00:09are reports of poor performance and blurry graphics, but if you're thinking about turning
00:13down the settings to boost your frame rate, there's one option you should likely avoid.
00:17It turns out that the post-processing setting is tied to the game's output resolution,
00:21which means that playing at 1080p with post-processing set to low sets the output image to a lowly
00:27864p res. The same 80% scaling can be found at 1440p and 4k settings, even though the
00:33game's setting menu still confirms that you're running at native resolution, 100% scale.
00:38It looks like dropping the resolution of the post-processing drops the resolution of the
00:42output overall, which is a particularly squishy bug that feels desperately in need of squashing.
00:47High Guard it may be, but low resolution with little explanation certainly won't do much
00:51to turn around its current reputation.
