00:13the concept that people won't want the job because Billy's attached to it.
00:17And my retort was, look, in any business, not just basketball,
00:24when people have to inherit people, they don't like it.
00:27They just don't.
00:29They have someone in mind for who that job is going to go to.
00:33Especially a job that big.
00:35It's not like, I remember, I know I keep talking about Theo,
00:38because it's Theo and Jim Hendry and trying to put all that together.
00:41He kept Randy Bush as an assistant general manager.
00:45Good guy to keep around, to help with a few different things,
00:48but he was one of four assistant general managers.
00:52He's a good guy to have there to onboard everybody.
00:54And then once the onboarding is done, we can probably move on.
01:00Or you may have interspersed yourself so well into the way we do things that it works out.

01:24I appreciate you wanting me to be here,
01:27but I don't know the philosophy or the time horizon of the person you're going to bring in
01:31and how that's going to work out.
01:33And it just isn't how you build a winner.
01:35And it might be unfair to that person to attach me to this job.
01:39I think Billy is honorable enough to see that and to take the 10,000-foot view and say,
01:44this isn't going to work.
01:45I'll be unfair to that person.
01:46And I also don't think it's going to feel good for me.
01:50I'm going to go ahead and leave and go chase an opportunity.
01:52You think that's entirely possible, right?
01:54I think that it is in play.
