28:55But after, after, after air, after the whole thing, did you want to do it again?

29:00You were like, oh, I did it.

29:02I honestly felt like in that moment, it was the first time I think I was able to, like, think.
29:06Understand.
29:07I think I just blacked out for the whole thing.
29:10Did anyone give you any good advice or anything?
29:12Lauren did.
29:12He was actually really sweet because he knew how scared I was.
29:15And he said something really lovely.
29:17He said, you know what people love about this show is the mistakes.
29:20So, if you, I was like, oh, good.
29:22You've got a lot of confidence in me.
29:23Yeah, you go, yeah.
29:24Well, get ready for a lot of mistakes.
29:25Yeah.
29:26Uh, yeah.
29:26No, it was sweet.
29:27And that is what people love about the show is knowing that it's live and anything can happen.
29:31And when you guys crack up and all of that.

29:35Well, now I want to mention you're starring in season four of The Lincoln Lawyer, by the way.

29:45But this season's all about you, bud.
29:47I do a lot this season.

29:51She's a great character.
29:52And I know that audiences really want to vie for Mickey and Maggie to get together and stuff.
29:56But I haven't, you know, she's a really good lawyer.
29:58But I haven't really been able to show that.
29:59And in this one, she gets very involved in defending Mickey.

30:07I want to talk about Scream 7.
30:09The original Scream came out 30 years ago.

30:13Is it fun to look back and see how much has changed?

30:19I mean, just with the movies and all that stuff.
30:22Yeah, it's nuts.

30:23I mean, it's so odd to even consider a sequel of a film.
30:27But to consider a franchise.
30:29I mean, there aren't actually that many franchises.

30:31So to think that you actually get to be a part of one and play a character for 30 years
30:35is just, like, I'm so grateful.
30:37When you did this, I mean, like, look at this cast.
30:39I know.
30:40It's you and Drew Barrymore.
30:42David Arquette.
30:43Courtney Cox.
30:44Yeah.
30:44Skeet Ulrich.
30:45Yeah.
30:45And at that time, you know, Drew was famous.
30:47And Courtney was getting there.
30:49But the rest of us, she was on Friends, but first year.
30:54And it was first year of Party of Five.

30:57Yeah, yeah.
30:58Wow.

30:58So you're just all, so Drew is the only one that's kind of, like, the season's better.
31:02And all the rest of us were like, maybe this will do something, maybe not.

31:08Well, the horror movies have been getting a lot of attention recently.
31:12You know, Sinners is up for an Oscar.

31:15And you were, people say that you were the original fine old girl.

31:19Which is, like, you know, do you ever think you and Courtney, you ever think, like, all right, this is
31:23it.
31:23This is now one of us, one of us is going to be knocked off.
31:26Maybe one of us is going to go.

31:28And I mean, I can't speak to that because you don't know what happens in this one, right?

31:53And sometimes, there were even times, I think it was on two or three, that the actors who
31:58were playing the killers didn't find out until later in the shooting as well.

32:03I don't know.
32:03They try to be really secretive about these movies because people get so excited.
32:06Has it changed throughout the years?
32:08Like, the first year you did it was like...
32:10The first year we did it, well, that one they weren't too concerned about.
32:14But when it hit and got so big, the second one, they started putting these big red lines
32:18through all the scripts so no one could, you know, fax it.
32:21Or, do you remember Fax Machine?
32:24Fax it?
32:24That's so funny.
32:25Yes.
32:26I know.
32:26I do remember.
32:27Yeah, of course.
32:27I love Fax Machine.
32:28Yeah.
32:29Yeah, yeah.
32:29And then the third, they started putting out fake scenes out on the internet to make sure
32:34that no one knew who the killer was going to be.
32:37These are a whodunit.
32:38You know, they're classic whodunit.
32:39You don't want to know whodunit.
32:40No, you don't want to know whodunit, but you know kind of whodunit, yeah.
32:45In the film, Scream is basically a love letter to horror, the genre.
32:51And in the film, you actually learn about the three rules to surviving a horror movie.
32:55Yes.
32:56Do you remember any of these rules?
32:57Jamie Kennedy.
32:58Jamie Kennedy was great.
32:59So good.
33:00Yes.
33:00It was classic.
33:01Just amazing.
33:02We had such good actors in these movies.
33:04You really did.
33:04Matt and Skeet and Jamie and David and the way they carried the humor and just great.
33:09But yeah, so Randy talks about the rules and one of them is don't have sex.

33:16That's usually when you get murdered.
33:17Yeah.
33:18Don't drink or do drugs.
33:20Yeah, that's another one that happens.

33:29Well, I think nowadays for me, it's like just know where the knives are in the house.

33:33Maybe take your chip out of your phone if you don't want people to find you.

33:40And I think the one you always got to do is run out the door and not up the stairs.
33:43Which seems really obvious, but it's amazing how many of us are still running up the stairs.

33:49Isn't it amazing how the phones have changed?
33:51Well, that's what I love about these movies.
33:52Because at the beginning, we had the big white one.
33:55And then they get slightly smaller still.
33:56And now it's like.
34:00They're in the house.
34:01Yeah, I can hear them.
34:02How do we set up what's going on with Scream 7?
34:06Well, I can't say too much.
34:07But what I can say is fun about this is a wonderful actress named Isabel May plays my teen daughter
34:12in it.
34:13And we got to see that Sydney in 5 was a mother, but they were young.
34:17And in this one, you know, it's very brave of Sydney to decide to be a mom and have kids
34:24considering what happens to most of the people she loves.
34:28So her greatest fear is that, you know, people will come.
34:31The ghost face will come to her family.
34:33And of course, that's what happens because it's a Scream movie.
34:35And so in this one, you know, Mama Bear.
34:37Mama Bear comes out.
34:39Yep.
34:39Okay, here we go.
34:40We can't wait to check it out.
