Liberal Democrats leader Sir Ed Davey responds to criticism from the Conservatives over a potential four-day week for council staff, saying: "I support local councils supporting local people over what's best for their community - it's a shame the Conservatives are too busy criticising others and not getting on with the job and serving those communities." 00:00I support local councils deciding with their local people what's best for their
00:03community. It's a shame that Conservatives are too busy criticising others and not
00:07actually getting on the job and serving local communities. In South
00:10Cambridgeshire they're very short of people to do the work and they've
00:14attracted people back to work into the council because of the actions they've
00:17taken that are supported by the vast majority of people. But every area is
00:21different and I'm afraid the Conservatives don't seem to know that. They believe in
00:25centralisation in top-down. Liberal Democrats don't. In local elections we
00:29believe in empowering communities.
