00:01Artemis 2 made history yesterday when the four astronauts and their Orion spacecraft swung behind the moon,
00:08taking them farther from Earth than any human has ever traveled before.
00:13So cool.
00:14So far, they lost communication with Earth.
00:17As they passed within 4,070 miles of the moon.
00:22That's so far.
00:24So far.
00:25The lowest point in its flyby also reached maximum distance to the Earth.
00:28With 252,760 miles.
00:32So the mission specialist, Jeremy Hansen, responded with an inspiring message.
00:39We do so in honoring the extraordinary efforts and feats of our predecessors in human space exploration.
00:46But we most importantly choose this moment to challenge this generation and the next to make sure this record is
00:55not long lived.
00:56How awesome is that?
00:57Wow.
00:57They're like, sure, we did this, but we better not be the only ones.
01:01Wow.
01:01That's so cool.
01:02You got to come up here and make this even better.
01:03Yeah.
01:04Their busy day continued with another first for humans around 9 p.m. Eastern time.
01:09Orion aligned with the sun and the moon, putting the crew inside a total solar eclipse.
01:15Wow.
01:16That'd be so amazing.
01:17That's so crazy.
01:18I would just be glued to the window.
01:20Like, obviously, they have to, like, work.
01:22They're like, Bill, Bill, we need you to thrust, thrust.
01:25He's like, sorry, looking outside.
01:26Sorry.
01:27There's just a few.
01:28They're taking selfies.
01:28It's so cool.
01:29You see it?
01:29Yeah.
01:30Exactly.
01:31Can you see the great wall from up here?
01:33Right, right.
01:33Like, I drive distracted when I see, like, a car accident or something.
01:37Right.
01:37They're looking at the moon.
01:38They're like, hey, keep us on the street.
01:40Keep us on the street.
01:41Can you imagine?
01:42Oh, it's the coolest thing.
01:43So we were talking about it a little earlier.
01:45They're set to land on Friday.
01:47That's right.
01:48Yes.
01:48Oh, my gosh.
01:49This is so cool.
01:51It's so exciting.
01:52I think that's where I couldn't go into space.
01:54I'd be too afraid of landing.
01:56Landing.
01:57Because they have to, like, parachute out sometimes or, like, detach from the rocket.
02:02Yeah, like, and then they splash down.
02:04It's a splash land.
02:05I'm not a good swimmer.
02:06So that can't do it, guys.
02:08I don't think they're going to make you swim after going through Earth's atmosphere.
02:13Like, okay, and then swim to shore, and we'll get you there.
02:15By the way, we can't get a boat.
02:16We'll have sandwiches waiting.
02:17It's not like a decathlon.
02:19Right.
02:19All right, moon, hit the moon, come back, swim, then jump on a bike.
02:23Right, right.
02:23It's also super cool that all this is happening while Project Hail Mary is still in theaters.
02:28Yes.
02:28Because if you are fascinated and your kids are fascinated with what's going on right now
02:33with Artemis 2, you've got to take yourself to see that movie.
02:36It is so, so good.
02:37And read the book.
02:38Andy, I downloaded the book this weekend.
02:39You did.
02:40I'm already, well, Kindle, 20% through.
02:42Yeah.
02:42You know how I told you the percent.
02:43Yeah.
02:43I'm obsessed.
02:45Right?
02:45Because I wanted to go see the movie, but I've heard the book is so great.
02:47And I'm not the biggest reader in the world, and I can't put it down.
02:51I cannot put the book down.
02:53Andy Weir, this is what he's so good at.
02:55I don't know anything about science, nor do I really care.
02:58I leave that to the smart people, right?
03:00But his books make it so interesting.
03:04Yeah, so fascinating.
03:05He's so great.
03:06And his characters are so funny, and they're sarcastic, and they're just so great.
03:12He is such a great author.
03:13You've got to get it.
03:13He's such a great author, and he's such a great author, and he's such a great author, and he's such
03:13a great author, and he's such a great author, and he's such a great author, and he's such a great
03:13author, and he's such a great author, and he's such a great author, and he's such a great author, and
03:13he's such a great author, and he's such a great author, and he's such a great author, and he's such
03:13a great author, and he's such a great author, and he's such a great author, and he's such a great
03:13author, and he's such a great author, and he's such a great author, and he's such a great author, and
03:13he's such a great author, and he's such a great author, and he's such a great author, and he's such
03:14a great author, and he's such a great author, and he's such a great author, and he's such a great
