00:01the next 12 weeks will be the toughest of your life Lord sugar is on the hunt for the next
00:08big
00:08thing this is an opportunity of a lifetime battling for his backing some of Britain's
00:15brightest prospects come on boys get up your life depends on it and then hit him it's a deal
00:23worth fighting for I can sense a bit of friction actually Donald's own no 20 candidates never
00:31been kicked in the balls by a goat to be honest with you oh 12 tough tasks this is a
00:37complete and
00:38utter joke just jump straight in one life-changing opportunity you're fired you're fired you've
00:46completely messed it up you're fired previously on The Apprentice I'm giving one team chickens and the
01:00other eggs guys I'm getting stressed man team egg cracked under pressure if you don't make any
01:06money this is a proper task we will lose and on team chicken can I interest you in a chicken
01:11and
01:11mushroom pie Dan's approach ruffled feathers I think we're struggling to shift the pies do you
01:17want to revise your tactic I think we just hold the price in the boardroom your pies ended up making
01:22a decent crust vindication for Dan good job buddy proud of you meant it was Tanmay what the hell
01:30was you doing who got plucked you're fired 8 p.m. I don't feel like you got a chance to
01:44be a p.m.
01:45because people are continuously talking for you yeah it's you know what I think there were clearly
01:50some gaps in dance project management and leadership I was just trying to highlight them and point them
01:54out I think Connor has been speaking for a lot of people in here I think he potentially could be
01:59going up for a p.m. hi this is Big Zoo your presence is required for your next task at
02:17the Crossnest
02:18pumping station Lord Sugar will meet you there at 8 a.m. oh my god it's Big Zoo what's going
02:26on Big Zoo
02:27just called to tell us to meet him at the Crossnest pumping station at 8 a.m. tomorrow I think
02:39it's an
02:41advertising task for his new song or something I mean I haven't got a clue who he is
02:52in South East London Crossnest pumping station a Victorian engineering marvel with a practical past
03:16good morning this place was designed by Joseph Bazalgette a Victorian engineer that introduced the city's
03:28first sewerage network transforming the health of Londoners who had been drinking contaminated water
03:35for decades so for your next task I want you to create a campaign for a new bottled water
03:43your builder brand shoot a tv ad and showcase your product live on social media now I need to even
03:54the
03:54teams up Harry where are you yeah please move over to team eclipse now you've had a few weeks to
04:04get
04:04to know each other so I'd like you to choose your project managers right now TV social media pitching
04:13confident with them but I need help with the branding and design I don't have a water bottle idea but
04:18I'm
04:18happy to bring it to life you should put yourself forward Connor does anyone want to actually be
04:24project manager first I do campaigns for promotion I feel like I can help you but I don't do the
04:31social
04:31media bit have you decided yes okay team alpha who's your project manager going to be I put myself forward
04:42a lot of sugar right given his experience in social media it makes sense team eclipse same question
04:48Krishna right why so I'm a social media consultant and I've been present on social media for the last
04:56seven years working as an influencer and content creator okay now this is all about creating a bold brand
05:04somebody who has achieved that is this gentleman here welcome big zoo well gone hi guys doing I'm big
05:16zoo you may know me as a rapper TV chef but what some of you don't know is I started
05:20a candle or brand two
05:22years ago called drip we changed the game one thing we did is prove that water isn't boring thank you
05:28very
05:28much for that you'll be pitching your campaign to this gentleman here and a panel of experts but
05:36ultimately I will decide whose advertising campaign is the best everything clear I'll see you in the
05:45boardroom in a couple of days time off you go
05:50two days to tap into the bottled water market by building new brands and creating campaigns
05:57I'm really grateful for the opportunity to be your PM today guys thirsty for a win I would really
06:03like to create a drink for people who are passionate about sports content creator Karishma I'm someone
06:10who's newly into fitness looking after myself going to the gym and keeping myself hydrated only recently
06:15became a priority for me I think we can motivate people to actually get into the gym through this
06:20campaign which is a big one like you're changing lives but with water you know it is a very simple
06:25product but if we can actually put the metaphor of transforming one's lifestyle it's powerful this
06:31is what I do every single day brands give me an idea I turn it into real life and then
06:36I make the
06:36millions so that is exactly what I do day to day and that is exactly what I get to do
06:40today well
06:42everyone thank you so much for selecting me as PM setting out his strategy I'm definitely going to
06:48be listening to the team and ultimately collectively making a decision together absolutely yeah yeah first
06:53time project manager Connor first things first is to choose our target market does anyone have any
06:59strong ideas I think the commuter area I definitely don't drink enough water so could that be an area
07:05that we actually target so I was thinking sports and I'm being completely honest I think sports in
07:10general has rapidly grown but it would be really easy to promote it to commuters yeah everyone is
07:16getting into sports now so that's probably good to maybe go down that route yeah I Roxy what do you
07:20think
07:21I feel like I'm drifting towards the commuting side okay um is there does anyone feel extra strongly
07:29do we want to take a vote is that the quickest way to solve it this is the first time
07:34Connor has been
07:34project manager and in the past he has controlled the team from the back seat but now he actually has
07:40the opportunity to control things he's putting everything to the vote I mean that's all well and good
07:44but at some point as project manager you've got to make a decision so for commuters okay so collectively
07:52I think we're going to go with commuters all happy yeah yeah brilliant perfect next job for project
07:58manager Karishma so who here feels confident with social media marketing decide who does what I do
08:04that's what I do in my day to day would you like to be myself team leader I would love
08:07to just on
08:09that just with me having a marketing agency as well I do a lot of adverts I'd feel comfortable being
08:15able to leave the TV advert team mm-hmm I will be taking care of the TV advertisement and with
08:21me
08:21Lawrence Kieran Megan branding team will be Carrington our social media expert Harry Priyesh and Andrea I
08:30want it to be eye-catching bold colors nothing boring nothing ordinary as a team we voted for
08:38Krishma to be the PM because of our social media skills and actually quite shocked that she didn't
08:43put herself on that side so she could have just brought her social media expertise through on that
08:47I've got every confidence let's make something extraordinary guys Roxanne do you mind if I put you
08:54on the branding team with Levi Rajan and Dan yeah anyone on the branding team want to put
08:59themselves forward for sub p.m. has anyone had any experience in branding has anyone created like
09:04a brand from scratch both so I've got experience in both areas give Roxanne the rain keep the boys
09:09in check yeah okay perfect I wanted to be seen as the water bottle they carry around with you almost
09:14like the replacement to your phone I trust you with this vision I know it's a little bit loose but
09:19I
09:19trust you 10 a.m. the team's divine while half pour their efforts into ad campaigns the way I do
09:30ads is you're not
09:31selling a product you're selling a feeling and people spend millions on a feeling the rest will build their
09:36brands Connor was a bit vague I'm not gonna lie when he said something to replace the phone in your
09:43hand with a
09:45an ambiguous kind of like description from p.m. but I think you know we've got the right person in
09:50the
09:50seat today would be fantastic southeast London base for both teams leading design agency 10 days
10:00hello good afternoon top of the to-do list I think the best one might be thrive nail down a
10:06name with the
10:07word thrive I can imagine going to the gym it's bright brand in colorful poppy also brainstorming brand
10:14names I thought maybe calling it north because people always say the water from the north is better
10:19the other team yeah I like that idea what about like north h2o yeah it tastes better from the north
10:27it's an okay name but I'm just worrying the people who don't get it you're gonna be like well I
10:32don't
10:32get it I think we could definitely make it work we can just make it fun and exciting do you
10:37know what
10:37I think would be good north h2o supporting you to reach your peak yeah I love that but you're dividing
10:44demographics I'm just worried about the connotations of the north and south divide but then maybe in
10:49the logo we can do some mountains as well you know we are supporting everybody to reach their peak
10:54I think it's tricky I think it's a bit of a risk Dan came up with this idea of north
11:00water because
11:01water tastes better up north but actually they shied away from the whole original concept and it's now
11:07about mountains and peaks well if you only half go down that message nobody will get it you either
11:13have to fully embrace it or drop it completely I think it does look clean I like the look of
11:20the
11:20peaks um yeah across town everyone's on their phone they're glued to it while Pasha pitches an advert
11:32aimed at parched commuters and there's almost like this angel that's got this bottle everyone stops
11:38everyone stares and it's like a gaze yeah on Karishma's team I think the TV advert would be like
11:46boxing ring someone gets knocked down they have a sip of the water and they come back up estate agent
11:51Kieran plans on knockout campaign I love that so much because I want people to feel defeated and then
11:57we pick them up so um location wise don't want to do gym don't want it's not no it's too
12:02obvious
12:03I want to go to this like enchanted looking place how do you want to do like the box and
12:08stuff and
12:09like we don't have to be that literal I'm thinking like he's getting knocked out he's not getting
12:13knocked out by fist he's getting knocked out by the camera we see you hit the floor bam yeah I
12:18want
12:19somewhere with really exciting lighting he drinks this water and we have like a close-up shot of his eyes
12:25just
12:25like powering up like he is one like yeah yeah literally just like we want it to be performance
12:31enhancing water I promise you guys I'll bring it to life I can see it I can just see what
12:36I want to
12:37do so like other opinions thank you for sharing but we know I know I'm doing and if you want
12:43to
12:43save a prop boxers don't normally wear t-shirts I'm happy not to wear it yeah I bet you're not
12:48yeah
12:52lunchtime for Connor's team hey Roxanne a chance to check in so the logo is north h2o our tagline is
13:03supporting you to reach your peak we've got a few lines representing like mountain peaks so the
13:10mountains are actually showing that they're gonna be reaching the peak drinking this water Levi Levi sorry
13:15for interrupting it's just mountains are extremely jarring to commuters commuters you're thinking
13:19public transport you're thinking tubes bikes quickness I think it would make more sense once
13:25you see the logo but also if you're lost you you know you're finding yourself the only problem with
13:31that is you're not going to be lost on your commute and if you're lost on your commute you're
13:34probably unemployed we luckily have a very adaptable and agile team over here so we'll make it work but I
13:39do you think it is quite the challenge to make north and the mountainous range kind of fit especially
13:45when we're going on a commute East London location for Karishma's boxing themed ad oh my god an
13:57immersive cocktail bar oh my god it is avatar literally wow aiming to take the lead we've got
14:04director Megan marketing expert Megan you know when you can walk backwards but you zoom in I forgot
14:11what that's called I did it in media but can we try that quick yeah yeah we can yeah three
14:16two one go
14:19that's nice okay here when I want some movement look tough and rough you're not having a good time
14:23here you're scared that you're about to get beat up cool and stop there and then can we have a
14:27close-up
14:27shot hang on are we doing the punch with the camera just yet not just yet right now we're just
14:31recording
14:31that he's scared I'm a bit confused why Karishma did appoint me to be the director of the ad fair
14:38if she was just gonna lead it herself I actually did media studies for a level so I'm actually quite
14:43clued up with doing different camera positions she's just taking on the whole load by herself all right
14:49three two one action and then hit him nice nice nice look like you're dying all right Lawrence come in
14:57with the towel and the water open your mouth Kieran nice nice nice nice nice nice okay I think he's
15:02drowning across town backdrop for North H2O it's about three commuters on their journey to work a boat on
15:15the River Thames the angelic Rothner comes in drinking North H2O at the helm Pasha you're gonna help me with
15:22directing two captains and cue Rothner which direction is this boat heading north and cut I
15:34thought you're gonna go up sorry just to interject do you not think it's better to do the other wrangle
15:37from the view of Vanessa so what I was gonna do is just repeating now the same one we did
15:43I think you
15:44are just going straight on to the boat because otherwise that's just gonna be too much too long that's
15:48where you chop a change at the end of tomorrow do you guys want to walk on and a raft
15:52if you don't
15:53mind just recording from this as they pop in over the boat yeah perfect that can get back and cut
15:59there okay and cut brilliant I think it is great to have Pasha there at some point we were being
16:06a
16:06little bit pedantic I do think you can go back and forth all day saying shall we record it like
16:10this
16:10shall we record it like that in a creative process like this you do have to make those decisions so
16:15if
16:15you could maybe record from here what are you doing now well it's just roughly drinking the water
16:19again but we've already got that on the other team I was thinking aluminium ball because it's
16:26recyclable yeah it's got the cap vessel in the can but are we all happy to go that one yeah
16:31next a bold
16:32brand for their bottle so the color we need to decide is the main aluminium bottle now I think I
16:38was
16:38thinking not primarily blue because boring I don't like purple as well I was thinking like yellow yeah
16:49a very light pastel yellow yeah I like that I like that I think it needs to stand out I
16:54was thinking
16:55about incorporating just a really bold tap with the drip hanging out if I see a tap on a bottle
17:00of
17:00water I think you'll give me tap water why am I paying for this well they know it's not tap
17:05water
17:05because it's in a bottle the team are not listening to me sometimes I do have some great ideas and
17:11I've
17:11done marketing on my business and it says what it does on the tin thrive yeah it's a brilliant word
17:17but unless we introduce something that says it's a bottle of water it's not a good branding I just hope
17:24it's good I'm worried it's very out there but courage man wanted something bowls and it's all
17:29matching the colors yeah 7 p.m. do we need a picture or something on the backpack going on I
17:36think a
17:37compass yeah perfect for both teams guys time really quick last time just one more time finishing touches
17:46north page 2-0 bravo guys well done tomorrow pitch campaigns that make a splash 7 a.m. you headed
18:01everyone's sleep not enough but it's tough as a tough
18:05for Karishma let's have a look don't get a drum roll guys the big reveal of her bottled water
18:18I'm not gonna lie it's giving milk it's giving milkshake a little bit you learn like when you see this
18:24color
18:25you think when on a milkshake you think a little bit like a milky product it reminds me of in
18:30primary
18:30school when you have to do IT and you did that font with the gradient if I'm being completely honest
18:36I think it's a little bit basic I hope that's not bold
18:43the sub team have missed the mark slightly and I think we're gonna be overcompensating when we're
18:48trying to pitch it as water because it doesn't look like water at the moment you just have to say
18:53that
18:53we are making a new innovative product there's nothing like this on the market at the moment honestly
18:58you guys it's gonna come across as a dairy product across the hall I'm excited on team north
19:09love it things go south um I thought we had quite a clear vision of what we wanted some kind
19:17of like
19:17a mobile phone replacement that cool water vessel that you really want to have and keep and hold
19:22my biggest concern is the compass the compass is extremely jarring for commuting so one of the
19:29reasons why I wanted to put the compass on is because it's almost like you know whilst drinking
19:34this this water you're heading the right way you're heading straight it gives adventure if we handed that
19:40to you and said this is for your hiking yeah that would be really good branding for hiking why do
19:46we have
19:46mountains it doesn't actually look like mountains no it looks like a chart of some sort it can tie in
19:52with the commute the branding that we've seen this morning is absolutely diabolical if I do say so
19:58myself the logo doesn't make sense I almost feel like they try to sabotage this whole task for one
20:04reason or the other I think us as an advertising team did quite well to kind of adjust can I
20:10just
20:10interject sorry I think it does hit the brief obviously Connor you did say we have free reign
20:16on it I do think it's 100 salvageable we need to pitch today there's a lot of pressure ahead of
20:23presenting to industry experts everyone has different strengths in this team I know that
20:28half of each team will promote their product live on social media Megan I would love for you to go
20:34over
20:35to the tick tock live side today while the rest edit TV ads yeah I just make one suggestion obviously
20:41it's up to you whatever you want to do but when we voted for you to be PM it was
20:45because your social
20:46media background I actually did media at a level and I did a lot of editing so do you think
20:50it might
20:51be better for you to go over to social media I completely get what you're saying but I feel like
20:56I'm very needed in the editing of this video there just cannot be two of me and I trust carrying
21:01to
21:01the tiktok live she's done them before they'll go on there just have a fun time the pressure on me
21:08as a sub-team leader at the moment feels like a ton of bricks to be frank I need to
21:11do really really
21:13well in the live or I might as well pack my bags from now I do think as I have
21:19experience in live
21:20streaming specifically it would be advantageous for us for me to swap over it from project manager
21:25Connor a reshuffle for Roxanne Roxanne I'm going to take the reins from you and for Pasha
21:30I am going to trust Pasha as sub-team lead a promotion does anyone have any concerns or
21:35queries about that I don't have experience editing videos so correct I fully understand that however
21:42I do think we all have the vision I have full trust in you after yesterday onwards and upwards let's
21:47go
21:47north yeah let's go
21:5210am half of each team set off to conquer social media listen you can have a rubbish product and if
21:59your tick-tock live is fantastic you can sell anything while the rest will edit their adverts
22:06very disappointed it looks like a milkshake I think we um oh sorry I forgot you're in the team
22:15South East London edit base for both teams hello how are you doing pulling no punches is this just all
22:24our shots just like everything into the timeline project manager Karishma so this I want to start
22:31with the motion immediately should we get the scene sorted do you know then that would be helpful yeah
22:35this is this is what we're doing so stop there let's start there yeah so I just want the this
22:42bit
22:42just want that bit wait no I yeah we just want that bit yeah we just want that bit yep
22:48cut there Krishna
22:50yeah just a bit worried that we spent quite a lot of time already with this clip we just need
22:55to have
22:55something that's finished even if it's not absolutely perfect this will be done in the next two minutes
22:59and so if you play from here I'm feeling a little bit stressed as is everyone else me Laurence Harry
23:08all sat there like soft thumbs while Karishma takes over one thing just with that writing still water
23:13five hundred millilitres you don't have a minute isn't that okay fine whatever you say downstairs
23:21there's a few things that we need to do to begin with making her editing debut we need to get
23:27the
23:28voiceover done and I think we need to pick the music before we get into the editing newly appointed sub
23:34team leader Pasha can we play through all the music that we've got sure no it's a bit yeah no
23:46no it's going country country yeah guys don't you think we should edit the video first we're gonna
23:55edit it all in a minute we just have to make sure we're happy with the song so we can
23:59get that agreed
24:03okay Pasha's plan of action basically to just jump into the music there's no real structure to the
24:09actual story that's the most important part of the actual film this part well nice don't really start
24:15yeah should we get that yeah let's do that song yeah now we need to get the voiceover sorted I
24:22want
24:22to include something about hydrating while we think of this why don't we start editing
24:27personally I think that the editing of the clips will be the quickest part
24:33central London in one hour teams will host live streams on global platform tick tock we lose them
24:42within three seconds if we don't have something fun and engaging to hook in an audience we want to make
24:48sure everyone understands the branding or thrive and showcase their brands I have some experience in
24:54live streaming my idea is to open it as we close it are you team Levi or are you team
24:59Roxanne by the
25:00end of the live stream one of these is going to get doused in water right you want to go
25:04the
25:04whole way to the end of the live stream to figure out who loses and who almost gets dunked in
25:08water
25:09yeah Dan I do think you should be like fact finder Dan so Dan literally walks in and you give
25:14a really
25:15simple or like water is transparent and then walks out of shot and I say thanks Dan let's go live
25:22stream
25:2811am tuning in to watch the lives drinks boss big zoo all right guys I think they're going live along
25:35with
25:36other experts from the worlds of water advertising and social media stop scrolling and stop exactly
25:44where you are in just under five minutes you will get to decide who is going to be doused and
25:50covered
25:50in water is it going to be Roxanne hello or is it going to be team Levi how are we
25:58doing everybody
25:58are you all right a nice slick start I think it was a good idea to like hook that audience
26:04I want to
26:14show you how to drink it taste test live taster okay that is incredible if I don't say so myself
26:26I'm here to introduce you the man with the plan and he is called Dan oh it rhymes he's got
26:36quite
26:36lyrical there lyrical miracle and he's got a fan they brought the chaos which can work in a live
26:43stream water is the most consumed beverage in the world anything else oh that's it Dan is done Dan wins
26:53everything for me what a random dude next up is Levi please introduce yourself how are we doing everybody
26:59I'm Levi I am the active commuter our audience might be thinking or looking forward to the dunking
27:05rather than finding out about the product itself right we're going to do one final countdown
27:10Levi he's a strong house he's a strong house
27:25thank you very much
27:27oh thirsty after that I feel like the North H2O lot had a very engaging hook in their live video
27:35very clear plan that is such an important part of live streaming and they definitely succeeded there
27:40I think the dunking will be the key takeaway from that from that live stream and maybe not the product
27:44but still a really great effort next to launch their water to the world
27:54hi guys how are we all doing we have an exciting new product to show you today which is called
28:05like banana-ery we are a fitness water brand look at these bold colors imagine when you're going to the
28:13gym taking a selfie in your gym in your gym clothes and doing that oh with your six pack and
28:19all that
28:19products not shouting fitness though still water 500 ml easy yeah in your bag small it's very
28:28selly it's very selly they ain't giving me much they're getting a little bit repetitive yeah
28:32five five five five sip to five and I feel alive I just had a sip and I feel alive
28:40starting to run out of gas I think yes yeah you see it's on the shelf you think wow yeah
28:47isn't
28:47this amazing yeah they haven't given me a reason to stay engaged yeah hey guys yeah
28:57controlled chaos is okay this to me seems like uncontrolled chaos it's a new innovative water
29:04bottle trendy they just didn't give me a reason to stay on the line there's no hook perhaps if they'd
29:14maybe thought about the narrative better maybe scripted things that would have helped them
29:21back at the edit this is the boxing ring as the boys add final bells and whistles
29:33nice great right on still stuck at the starting line Pasha I think we've got a good outline it's
29:39just that little little bit that we need to sort of join us on a journey through the
29:46I need to tell you you've got half an hour okay how long are we on the video at the
29:51moment Raph
29:51we're on 48 seconds now I'll just play through you tell me where to cut where she's walking get
29:56rid of the walking so we don't need any of these let's take that cut there I think it's that
30:02short
30:02if you could just play that cop that one leave the reaction we haven't got time for that yeah from
30:09that bit supporting you to reach your peak done that went so fast 2 p.m. before pitches begin I
30:24want
30:25it to be highly professional very entertaining very personalized and human for both teams a chance to
30:32check-in I understand that I put a lot of pressure on you specifically Pasha how did it go the
30:37only
30:38issue that we had is how many clips were filmed yesterday the amount of videos we had to go
30:42through was so many I think I want you to be aware that we didn't even have a chance to
30:48do a full run
30:49through like we literally had one one to the last second what you mean by a full run through so
30:53you've
30:54not seen it from start to finish we we haven't been able to see it from start to finish but
30:57we did
30:57watch bits and bobs as it was getting all together yeah did the ad makes sense there might be a
31:02few
31:03things that might like be pointed out not being a hundred cohesive but we obviously really did try
31:13mid-afternoon showtime hello how are you today riding high from their tick-tock triumph north h2o I am
31:26delighted to introduce our new water brand north h2o is targeting commuters be that the busy workaholic
31:34or the tired worn-down working professional big Z looks a bit concerned and what north h2o is it
31:44sorry when you're in your journey throughout the hustle and bustle you can when you whenever you start to
31:55fatigue down in your journey would take a bit of north h2o and it will pick you up and elevate
32:00you
32:00back up to your peak levels we didn't seem confident we kind of opted to go for a carton we
32:06were also
32:07thinking of going towards down the can route but you know the cans I feel like a lot of people
32:11are
32:11doing them at the moment and also if you have open a can you have to drink that in one
32:16sitting um the
32:17carton you know you're not dissing up the cans I'm a can man I'm gonna take that to my heart
32:21now
32:24so um so without further ado let's watch the advert which direction is this boat heading no
32:38oh this is your first time seeing it yeah I've never seen this
32:47excuse me what drink is that
32:51no h2o supporting you to reach your peak welcome the floor for any questions
33:00I'm jolian white I am the chief creative officer and founder of the creative agency 10 days I just
33:07think with the ad I kind of feel like I saw something quite like quite dull imagine you're
33:16scrolling would you stop if you saw that opening frame thank you for your question um if I saw
33:23someone who looks like me on the way somewhere really busy I can't be intrigued like what's going on
33:27here I get tapped on my shoulder and asking me where I'm going and with the attitude I've gone
33:32north I wouldn't know what's going on right now so I would stop hi I'm Joanna Moncrief head of
33:39marketing at canowater given you've gone with commuters as your kind of target market what made
33:44you decide to have the compass branding and the sort of slightly mountainous look yeah so yeah
33:53absolutely so with the mountainous look I mean as though it kind of might look like a
33:57mountain it's more representative of your journey going down and then when you drink the water it
34:02goes back up to reach your peak thank you very much have a lovely evening wow wow how are you
34:09guys
34:09feeling that was really hard to watch yeah yeah that was hard yeah I think from my perspective they
34:17did a really good job at the live stream and none of that came through on the ad no definitely
34:22it felt
34:23like someone in the branding had a very different idea to someone in the ad yeah yeah
34:30next to take the stage good afternoon everyone thrive thank you so much for joining us for the
34:38launch of our brand new product thrive thrive is about bottling that feeling of change of self
34:45improvement of doing something for yourself that changes the world so that you can thrive I would like
34:52to introduce you to a concept that I like to call the thrive turning point this is defined by that
34:58very second in your life where you decided to stop being ordinary and stop just merely existing we're not
35:05just selling water we're selling the feeling the sensation of walking away from the cusp of failure and
35:11challenging yourself every single day to create change so with no further ado let's have this video play
35:36I think we've smashed it that was good I really like the ad I think the ad was electric I
35:41love when you punch the floor and you was getting up and then the water splattered the only reservation I
35:46have from it is that it almost looks like the water gives you power which I feel like sometimes can
35:50be misleading especially in the water
35:52game especially when you had that final sip and your eyes open up it's like yo I'm awake now
35:57um what it comes down to is and like we've all been saying it's a feeling that you get so
36:03you thrive you're
36:05hungry to do better it doesn't give you powers but it gives you almost a sense of security yeah right
36:13who directed the ad
36:17the ad was directed by myself yeah
36:19it's it's it's pretty damn good thank you it's pretty damn good
36:23just want to come back to the the bottle this is giving banana milkshake
36:28it's just does feel quite childish like it's giving cbbs for such an adult ad to have almost
36:34a childish bottle feels like a bit of a letdown thank you so much for the question and the feedback
36:38that's really helpful to hear and we'll take it on board and it's appreciated our main goal was being
36:43different and and the fact you've pointed that out shows that we've sort of hit a mark to some extent
36:48thanks so much thank you thank you
36:54it was a very good ad it uh captured you it was interesting what we kind of agree is give
37:00him
37:00banana milkshake yeah it's oh yeah without doubt 7 p.m well done christian
37:08pitch is over we said about the milkshake thing you knew it was gonna yeah we knew it's coming yeah
37:13we knew that there was gonna be challenges and obstacles that we had to overcome
37:16we took accountability yeah and we tried to answer them with the best perspectives that we could
37:22tonight back to the house tomorrow sink or swim
37:33morning morning all right good gee yeah not bad do you feel confident that your team have done enough
37:38to win the video was absolutely out of this world because you were in it yeah
37:46i'm sad you had to go up against me to be fair oh she talks a big game she does
37:51you seem to talk to talk hope you can walk the walk i don't walk i strap babe
38:02i'm not going home today and i will be fighting to my last breath because this is what i do
38:07i'm feeling nervous about going into the boardroom as pm it's easy to be the fall guy
38:11i will be holding my team accountable for their missteps there are some questions that i have
38:16my head's a bit scrambled right now i just don't know what lord sugar is gonna think
38:20i just know i've done my best and that's all i can do
38:27you can go through to the boardroom now
38:42well this is one of my favorite tasks i spent a lot of my business career creating adverts and
38:50marketing what i've forgotten about advertising you haven't even learned yet so let's start off
38:56with the clips karishma you chose to be project manager is that right yeah i create ads for other
39:03brands for a living tell me about the ideas that you came up with so i really wanted to go
39:07down the
39:08fitness category just because it's such a vastly growing one for me that was a clear vision in my
39:14head what i wanted to do with this okay and you came up with this name thrive yeah now when
39:20i see
39:20this first of all it came across to me as if this was like a milky type of product yeah
39:27the yellow looks
39:28like isotonic custard to me um quite frankly the reason for the yellow was to spread positivity and
39:36sunshine is this yellow supposed to be sunshine is it well it was like it's like a subtle yellow and
39:41i
39:41think when it's very subtle yeah we thought the same thing that you thought lord sugar we thought it
39:45looked like a bit like a milkshake we just had to do with what we had hmm well let's take
39:51a look at
39:51your tv advert
40:10thrive was appearing in the advert for kieran what i can understand that's correct yeah no i'm trying to
40:17say is the advert was all about kieran and yet raging bull it's not de niro or stallone you're not
40:25anyway i spoke to the panel electric advert with loads of energy um it does however make you think
40:34that water gives you actual power which is maybe a bit misleading so with the fitness side of things
40:41you drink it as an encouragement drink but it gives you that motivation to go to the gym to
40:46exercise yeah but it's only water it's not like it's an energy drink anyway the um social media i saw
40:53that also karenton you were sub team leader yeah i do live streams quite a lot in my personal life
40:59we had ample energy they seem to really like the product yeah i've got some feedback a bit too much
41:07talking over one another but it's not very engaging also if i may i think the reality is you were
41:14very
41:14hard on the sale and i suppose with your experience of life you could have done slightly better no i
41:20thought it went well but that's did you well let me tell you what my panel had to say they
41:25said that
41:26one was better yeah so overall good project manager yes yes i'd actually say that krishma knew what she
41:36was doing i mean i i was impressed with the quality of her work i do think krishma did a
41:40really good job
41:41the only thing for me is i did voice that i would like to be sub team leader with having
41:45a marketing
41:46agency i thought a lot of my skills were really valid for this project you're saying that your
41:51talent was not exploited in this task carrington is simply just stronger when it comes to social media
41:57whereas megan's strengths lie in advertising and that was that's your opinion is it that's your
42:02opinion no no this was a statement made by megan and i'm pretty sure we can all agree that that's
42:07how
42:07that went it wasn't picking yeah if carrington was weaker in a certain task she wouldn't have been
42:11chosen anyway let's move on to team alpha connor you said when you became project manager that you
42:19bring ideas to life correct so my history is in my streaming and i'm confident and comfortable in
42:26pitching okay and you chose commuters and then dan came out with this north is that right yeah that
42:34was my idea i wanted to do a play on words that the water up north is better so is
42:38it yeah i think
42:39a lot of that because it rains more up there so it's like a joke that a lot of people
42:43say whenever
42:44they come down to london they say the water tastes better up north don't you think it'd be alienating
42:48people in the south that was exactly my point north sugar in in the morning brief i expressed that
42:54you know we could be creating like a bit of a divide here right the reality is it would have
42:58worked
42:58well lord sugar if my whole story concept had come to life but the fact there was a bit of
43:02divide in
43:03so anyway anyway then you ended up with this yeah yeah and then you got the the compass on there
43:09that's correct your sugar so i propose the compass to the team and then also with the the line on
43:14top
43:15of the north it represents the progress chart i know some people had mentioned it does look like
43:20bit like mountains um when you were designing it you said you wanted it look like mountains
43:25yeah nothing to do with the progress chart and if i may when we when we separated into our advertising
43:30and branding team we never kind of spoke about it being the adventure themed i thought collectively
43:34we did kind of go against the story of the north you did mention that you said you'd give full
43:39reign
43:40to us like free reign i know and i did and in fairness you also said that you've experienced in
43:44creating
43:44brands when you saw that was your reaction what's what's what's this north and what's mountains all
43:50we were quite shocked yeah yeah all right let's see this advert now shall we which direction is this boat
43:59headed north
44:07excuse me what drink is that no h2o supporting you to reach your peak
44:15well um these are the experts they said the advert was a bit old-fashioned boring yeah i'm actually
44:21extremely proud of our team of how we pivoted to incorporate the branding name of north and kind
44:26of almost saying that the boat is going north we had to make do with with what we had it
44:30was
44:31just making it work sorry i disagree i feel like you could have used the name north and done a
44:37bit
44:37more of a creative flair to it but we didn't i personally do think it lacked creativity and likewise with
44:42yourself i think you know you put yourself forward as sub team leader and you have experience in logos
44:47and designing okay so then you go and pitch uh and you haven't done your homework because a part of
44:53your pitch was you know canned water is old passe rubbish you know you've got two people on the panel
45:01big zoo and cano whose water is supplied in cans not very clever it was actually brought up in our
45:09pitch by
45:09raj and they were kind of it's not good to impress you should do your research first of all um
45:15okay
45:15so look um good team leader yeah yeah what's that mean just feel like for the morning brief we kind
45:23of could have had a bit more to go all right well look um i've seen both adverts i've listened
45:29to the
45:29experts as you know i was always going to make the decision on which the best advert was because
45:35of my experience um i think that eclipse cinematography was much better than alpha's advert
45:46i think alpha's advert to me with due respect was boring looks like a 10 year old's done it on
45:54his
45:54iphone and so on that basis i'm going to award the win to eclipse thank you thank you so much
46:02right right off you go back to the house thank you well done guys and uh i think there's a
46:10talent
46:10agent out there for the remake of rocky five oh my god
46:21well as ever i'd like you to go away talk amongst yourself come back in here and do a more
46:28deeper dive
46:29into what went wrong off you go thank you so happy guys that we won that oh my god what
46:42a relief
46:42we won on the video in the end that's what made the decision as a content creator it was huge
46:46for me
46:47you killed it you know both of you should be very very proud thanks i'll be up for the bath
46:52this year i
47:00do the branding team take accountability that they made a brand that looks like an adventure water
47:04i just feel like for the branding side of things you were quite vague with that roxanne you did say
47:10you had experience in branding so i did leave a very vague and open brief there was absolutely no
47:14direction from connor i feel like it's unfair if i am brought back into the boardroom today lord sugar
47:20said at the end it was a boring advert i do agree it wasn't a most exciting video but i
47:25told him in
47:26that meeting just to let you know i have no experience editing a video yes the idea of the
47:30advert was mine but the way that that was brought out corner really should have made that come to life
47:35rajan i do think unfortunately the compounding of the compass onto the water vessel did leave us an
47:41extremely difficult position yes okay the branding wasn't fantastic that you were dealing with
47:46but you know one of the first things you said as pm was you know i bring stories to life
47:51i'm
47:51disappointed with the branding i'm extremely proud of the work that i did in order to make that work
47:56and to make that brand story fit however it's extremely different than the vision that we agreed on
48:10would you send the candidates in please
48:23well i believe you lost because the branding and the tv advert both very very poor now dan you've got
48:33this name north and you said well thing was it wasn't executed as to my total idea right why didn't
48:42you
48:42pipe up dan i didn't i did say many times but there was a lot of divide in the team
48:47that they
48:47wanted it to who did who was dividing in the team then the reason why we didn't apply his complete
48:53concept lord trigger was because it's a bit you know demographically prejudiced it's a running joke
48:59people get it or they don't it's it's 50 50 so we decided to go away from dan's water taste
49:05up north
49:05but still get the name i mean put simply the name north is meaningless if you don't use the concept
49:11yeah branding team i i would ask for some accountability here in all fairness um connor
49:18you were very vague with what you were actually wanting you were just like you know i trust you guys
49:24and also just kind of do what you want with your free will 100 and when i took this role
49:29as pm i said
49:29i have no branding experience i trust you you did say you have branding experience and i trusted you
49:33until pm i've got a beauty business you know so you've created logos and designs before now when
49:38you look at this when you look at this branding you would think that christopher columbus would buy
49:42this as an explorer well the logo looks like a road sign on the m6 quite clearly north and it's
49:48all gone
49:49south quite honestly anyway connor and pasha i've heard that um both of you were directing the cameraman
49:57and saying do this and then the other one would overstep and say no do that so basically we had
50:04two
50:04directors yeah hundred percent i feel like i did take a step back and i was letting connor predominantly
50:10lead i didn't witness you taking a step back okay um can i um just add yeah lord sugar so
50:18when we met on
50:19day two it was very out of the blue he sort of looked at me and said pasha you're going
50:24to be doing
50:24the edit now i said to corner i've never edited a video a branding ad so you're telling me he
50:31dropped
50:31you in it is that what you're saying i'm not i i'm not he went off to do the social
50:35media thing because
50:35that's what he does that's where he's that's what he does 100 it's the only good thing he did do
50:40because
50:40your one was voted best by the social media experts 100 all right um anyway where do you think
50:49the uh fault with this project lays in my opinion i think the fault on this project
50:55lays more with the video team one of the first things connor said was i create stories into reality
51:01there was no reality here right well connor as the project manager can i ask which two people are you
51:09bringing back into this boardroom um i am going to bring back rajan and roxanne right i think it's
51:17very quick for you to throw me under the bus but okay the rest of you leave and go back
51:24to the house
51:25and the three of you stay here thank you well look you three are gonna step outside i'm gonna
51:35have a chat with baroness brady and uh tim and then you'll come back in here when at least one
51:41of
51:41you is going to be going today okay off you go thank you thank you i think a couple of
51:52them had a lucky
51:52escape yeah so connor good talker isn't he yeah but actually no one in the team thought his
52:03instructions were very clear at all and what about rajan the reality is that rajan was responsible
52:09for some grave errors in the pitch particularly saying negative things that impacted some of the
52:15judges i think you're really gonna have to narrow down on roxanne i mean she was in charge of the
52:22branding and the branding is i'm afraid i think incredibly poor hmm yeah
52:30yes could you send the three candidates in please
52:44well connor no clear concept from the brainstorm no synergy between the ad and the product our
52:52initial concept which i'm pretty sure you both knew and were aware of that we were going for the mobile
52:57phone replacement something kind of sleek that was kind of the concept i trusted you with branding
53:01unfortunately north h2o with the mountains and supporting you to reach your peak does have a
53:07narrative and that is much more linked to an adventure brand and roxanne more specifically a
53:11sub-team lead i think you failed to take accountability for that which i'm really disappointed by
53:15because immediately because as a leader i wanted to hear everybody's opinions and voices
53:22levi threw in the the bit about the peak which ultimately everyone agreed on it connor you've
53:30you've you've gone into why you brought roxanne here as being you know the sub team leader i'm
53:34loving to hear no reason um so you doubled down on making an adventure brand you compounded it by
53:41adding in the compass you dissed big zoo's um brand itself no no i meant i i mentioned that we
53:47went for
53:47a cat carton as opposed to a can to stand out and i think there's a way that you can
53:51elevate the use
53:52of the carton without putting down a can so what you're trying to say is you brought me back because
53:56i put a compass onto a bottle yes you think that we have failed this task because a compass is
54:02on
54:02there is that what you're saying i think you made it it made it extremely difficult in the pitch
54:05and i think it's not the mountains not the mountains or all of this and i was like so you
54:09agreed that there are branding issues here what you've achieved is that you've made
54:12tap wall to look look exciting quite frankly branding roxanne you have to take responsibility
54:22for it you're the sub team leader i do take you know accountability for for some of the you know
54:28the branding but ultimately um i don't believe i am the failure of this task where do you think the
54:35failure lays out the three of you then i believe connor easy to point at a project manager isn't it
54:40well
54:40it's not just because he's the leader that's not it at all the directing and the filming of the
54:46actual advert when me pasha and the editing team were going into the second day there was nothing for
54:51us to go off there was no there was no no that's not true that isn't true it was pasha's
54:56vision and
54:57passion was the assistant director for a reason you're saying it's his responsibility well he directed it
55:01okay yes this week i took the reins this pm and i pivoted when we got the north i swapped
55:07sides over to
55:07the live stream i think we smashed that at the park was the video a little bit boring yes so
55:12i do take
55:12accountability for that right okay i don't want to hear any more from anyone so the way i see this
55:19connor is that i i'm impressed that you do take responsibility and you've taken responsibility for
55:26certain parts of the failure of this task right roxanne i think a sub team leader on the branding side
55:34you have a lot to answer to rajan to be disrespectful of the canned water to the two experts was
55:44a major
55:44boob i i can't get to the bottom of whether you're shrewd enough for me but connor whether you allowed
55:54the
55:54social media to distract you from the main business that we were supposed to be doing could be one of
56:02the
56:02reasons why regretfully this task failed i just got to do this on a gut feeling at the moment
56:12my gut feeling is that
56:20roxanne roxanne you're fired thanks for the opportunity thanks tim thanks badness brady good
56:27thanks lord sugar
56:34connor i like your spirit and determination however you need to focus in future
56:42you two go back to the house thank you lord sugar
56:48i'm sad that lord sugar didn't believe in me but i back myself a hundred percent
56:52i've got a lucrative business and i can't wait to prove laura sugar wrong
56:57i mean no one backed my vision unfortunately i should have been pm
57:01i really hope the roxanne's coming back yeah i actually walk quiet if roxanne doesn't make it
57:09home today i think connor might make it back
57:20oh boys you gotta tell us what happened so i mean lord sugar felt that roxanne was the person to
57:26blame
57:26the branding aspect wasn't fantastic and you know she was the one who got the finger
57:31who do you think's on thin ice now then i think everybody's on thin ice but there's no room for
57:35hiding now 15 candidates remain lord sugar's search for his next business partner continues
57:47next time i want you to make a bunch of money out of flowers petals you've got 60 bouquets to
57:54make
57:54we're only four down don't cut them too short don't cut them too short pitfalls
57:58come over and cheer yourself tough crowd and in the boardroom you completely and utterly lost the
58:04plot a pruning you're fired
58:09if that merely wet your whistle head over to bbc 2 for unfinished business after the figure skating
58:15let's be honest it's the olympics of drag battling for the crown rupaul's drag race uk
58:20versus the world is at the end of that red button
58:23you
