00:01In a historic moment for space exploration, Artemis II astronauts are heading home after a breathtaking journey around the far
00:09side of the moon, marking humanity's return to deep space since the Apollo era.
00:14And they didn't just make history visually, they broke records. Artemis II has officially surpassed the distance set by Apollo
00:2313 back in 1970, pushing farther into space than any human mission before it.
00:31Trader, great to chat with you. Just something that just shocked me, because I'm really using imagery and just the
00:39three-dimensionality of it.
00:40You know from your experience of seeing the Earth from space, how it just seems different.
00:45And you look out in depth of things, and when we were on the far side of the moon, looking
00:50back at Earth, it was just so obvious you had this sphere out in front of you of the moon
00:55in this three-dimensional space.
00:58You really felt like you weren't in a capsule. You'd been transported to the far side of the moon, and
01:03it really just bent your mind. It was an extraordinary human experience. I'm so grateful for it.
01:09Emerging from behind the lunar surface, the crew captured never-before-seen views, completing a dramatic seven-hour flyby that
01:16stands as the mission's highlight.
01:18The Artemis II mission is a key step towards NASA's goal of landing astronauts near the moon's south pole within
01:26the next two years, marking a bold new chapter in lunar exploration.
01:30Now on their way home, the astronauts are expected to complete their journey with a Pacific splashdown later this week.
