00:00I just think it's ironic that the Brewers are coming here because I think the Red Sox so badly
00:04want to be the Brewers or a team like the Brewers don't you think that that's their model yes
00:09definitely yeah that mid-market baby I mean a team that the Brewers payroll the Brewers have
00:15made the playoffs seven of the last eight years they've won the division three straight
00:21and they haven't won anything but they're averaging they win around 90 games a year
00:26make the playoffs just about every year contending if not winning again they've won the division three
00:32straight years with the payrolls here's where they rank the last I just looked this up today
00:37where they rank in payroll the last five years going backwards starting and these are opening
00:40day payrolls on cots maz I know there's different computations yeah there's luxury tax payrolls
00:45and blah these are the opening day payrolls according to cots baseball starting in 2026
00:50Brewers payroll ranks 21st 24th 24th 20th 17th averaging about 92 wins a year taking out the
00:59COVID year playoff seven of eight division three straight years don't you think the Red Sox salivate
01:04at the thought of being the Milwaukee Brewers yes what prevents them from being the Milwaukee Brewers
01:10uh what's a lack of commitment to be the Brewers yeah they're not willing to go full Brewer correct
01:18and I you know I mentioned this earlier it's like the Brewers wouldn't have paid Xander Bogarts either
01:25the Red Sox lost Bogarts as a free agent right they did so what the instead of doing what the
01:30Red Sox did
01:31which is take Bogarts to the end don't trade them lose them for nothing and then turn around and sign
01:39Trevor Story because they got heat from fans the Brewers would have traded Bogarts a year early
01:44would have gotten some prospects in the system would have thrown them in there maybe the prospects
01:48would have worked maybe they wouldn't have but they wouldn't have gone out and then spent on
01:52Trevor Story no they wouldn't have they'd have all that all they would have saved all that money
01:58and because they're they're smart they would have landed a player or two and if not they would have
02:03moved on from them and tried something else and they just would have done that thing which is what
02:07they've done here now the Brewers have done they just traded their one of their best pitchers per
02:12Alta to the Mets got some prospects throw them in there they got Caleb Durbin in the first place
02:18from the Yankees for Devin Williams the reliever used him for a year then flipped him to the Red Sox
02:23for another start and like they just sort of play that game but they don't lose a good player for
02:28nothing and then go spend on an off-brand guy to appease their fans they just take the hit
02:38Again oh my problem hasn't everán a good player cause it's not going to be asк if you just
02:38don't lose a damn content take the game but I can see what I was going to be able to
02:39you
02:39afterwards then we may trade them on with them and talk about some pretty small
02:39alright because when we go ahead that game do you have to be one of their own
02:39Alright guys
