00:00Because, honestly, Michael, when they came back to the ballpark,
00:02you know, when they came back to Fenway last night,
00:04after the trade deadline, they went 5-1 on the road trip.
00:07They swept the Dodgers over the weekend.
00:09I don't know about you guys.
00:11I was sort of expecting a letdown.
00:14Yeah, me too.
00:14I was expecting a letdown.
00:17They came out in the first inning, beat the crap out of them,
00:20scored six runs, the game was over.
00:22It was over.
00:23Seven batters into the game, it was 6-0.
00:26They absolutely freaking spanked them.
00:28And I'm watching it going, this is ridiculous.
00:31And Lou Maloney said it a bunch of times during the game,
00:34you know, I've never seen anything like it, et cetera, et cetera,
00:36all of which is true.
00:38But here's the part that is going to irritate people.
00:43Early in the year, Murray, when they weren't playing well,
00:45and Jimmy Stewart, early in the year when the Red Sox weren't playing well,
00:49how many times did we say, look, they're not good,
00:53but they shouldn't be this bad.
00:55They shouldn't be this bad.
00:58Just the pitching alone should get them to 500.
01:02And they were well under 500.
01:04They ultimately fell to 14 games under 500.
01:07I mean, they were a bad team.
01:09And it wasn't just because they didn't have good players,
01:12or it was because they were playing worse than what their expectation was.
01:18Because they were all over 400.
01:19So if you were to kick up and keep playing well,
01:19then I won't do whatever isn't going to help and run the way the goal is.
01:20You
