00:00Start with some Red Sox. What am I supposed to do with this, Mass?
00:02What am I supposed to do with a night like last night?
00:04What am I supposed to do with the Red Sox?
00:05So let me tell you that I personally, I mean, I want to believe that this is the start of
00:11them playing like they are capable of playing.
00:14I really do. I genuinely want to believe that because they hit the ball around a little bit.
00:20I happen to think Duran is a key guy for them.
00:23The pitching has been good.
00:24Brett Gilmore, one of our salespeople, just said to me, he saw a stat that if the Red Sox had
00:29a mediocre offense,
00:31league average, league average offense, that right now they'd be somewhere in the range of like 32 and 16.
00:37Oh, wow.
00:38Okay, 32 and 16. Instead, they're 21 and 27.
00:43So what if Jaron Duran actually now starts playing like he's capable of?
00:48So here's my point. I don't think Jaron Duran is great.
00:53There's no way he's as bad as he's played for the first six or seven weeks of the season.
00:57We've seen it. The last two years, he had 40 doubles, 15 home runs.
01:01Like, you know, we know what he is.
01:04He's not an MVP caliber player like he was two years ago.
01:07That was inflated, but he's better than this.
01:10Last night is closer to who he is.
01:13So what if he gets his head out of his ass,
01:16Anthony starts playing better, and they're average.
01:19Can they sort of weasel their way?
01:21I'm sorry, who?
01:21Anthony.
01:22Where's he?
01:23On the I.L. because he's always hurt.
01:25So you were saying, but playing better would imply that he's playing.
01:29He's not.
01:30But he should be back in a week.
01:31Go ahead.
01:32They said that last week.
01:34Right. Go ahead, then.
01:36That just caught me. Go ahead.
01:38But I'll tell you what.
01:39Leave Anthony out of it for the time being.
01:42If Contreras and Abreu hit and Duran hits, and that's three guys,
01:46with your pitching, you should be good enough to beat bad teams
01:50and get your way back in it.
01:51Now, I'm not telling you they're winning the division or anything of the like
01:54because they should thank their lucky stars that they play in the American League.
01:58Do you realize that they're two and a half out of the wild card?
02:01If they were in the National League, you know how far they'd be out?
02:03Seven games.
02:04I was going to say eight games.
02:05Seven.
02:05Seven games.
02:06They'd be seven games out of the National League if they played that.
02:09So, again, what I am giving you is the argument for what I want to believe.
02:16But at the moment, I don't.
02:19So, I mean, how could you?
02:21Look, you know, this is only the fifth series that they've won all year long.
