00:05shutdown order against Rappler. This is one of the biggest cases the digital company faced.
00:10The case was closed because the SC division granted the Office of the Solicitor General's
00:14request to withdraw its motion for extension. The motion for extension asked the High Court
00:19to give the OSG additional time to file a legal challenge against the Court of Appeals decision.
00:24That CA ruling voided the SEC's shutdown order against Rappler.
00:28International human rights lawyer Amal Clooney says,
00:31This is an important victory for Maria Ressa and journalists across the Philippines.
00:35I welcome the position taken by the Solicitor General in this case and the court rulings
00:39recognizing the paramount importance of the press in a free society.
