01:35This is the nationwide program.
01:36Over on the other side is actually the K&N program.
01:41You can see, I mean, they run quite a few different race teams
01:44out of this shop area.
01:46You know, I didn't know a whole lot about Travis Pastrana
01:48when we first started talking about him.
01:52We live in our NASCAR world, and fortunately I have teenage kids,
01:57and so they watch X Games, and they knew who Travis Pastrana was
02:01probably more so than me, and largely because of Nitro Circus.
02:05And I was like, okay, this guy has obviously a lot of gumption,
02:09a lot of talent, and he has something special.
02:15We have an alliance with the group that's going to run his nationwide team.
02:20We are running his East team out of Michael Waltrip Racing
02:23simply because we're the best team in the garage.

02:50Yeah, I was thinking just last time I got my elbow caught in this.
02:53When I was in the rally team, they actually color-coordinated all the tools
02:56that matched, so like all the eights were green, all the tens,
03:00everything that needed a certain tool.
03:02The tool was color-coordinated with everything that it went through.
03:06It made life so much better.
03:07So in NASCAR we kind of adopted that same theory.
03:09All the buttons I'm allowed to hit, they painted them all pink.
03:13So that way I know that I should only touch the ones that are the pink ones.
03:18They're as big as these cars are.
03:21They're tight.
03:22I'm glad that my real life husband doesn't look like that.

03:48Basically, I'm prepping for Travis' NASCAR season.
03:51Travis has been looking forward to this NASCAR deal for a long time.

04:01What goes into a pit stop?
04:02Well, you've got a lot of different positions,
04:04but the bottom line is it's a full-time job.
04:07There's a lot of things going on,
04:09and it all needs to be synchronized,
04:10and every single athlete on that team needs to be balanced.
04:52You also have gym time.
04:55You've got to get in there.
04:55You've got to get your workouts.
04:56You've got to be fit.
04:57Like, fitness is a big thing.
04:58You've just kind of got to be looking at the whole picture,
05:02like we're talking about athletes.
05:06roads are the best.
05:24But the people with some targets...

06:21You can't judge heart and with Travis, it's passion and heart.
06:25Those things are off the charts and he cares so much and he cares about his people but he
06:31really cares about being better.
06:40Watching some video the last couple of years of the Nationwide.
06:42They didn't have K&N but just trying to do as much homework as we can, getting on the
06:47iRacing simulator, seeing why the crashes happen, where they're happening from.
06:50The first race for K&N season this year coming up in Bristol tomorrow.
07:00We're in the room right now and this is kind of the base where everyone kind of sits and
07:05there's all kinds of steps.
07:07Basically the coefficient of down force, the yaw, so they'll do three tests.
07:11This is zero yaw and then the car will actually, because the wind is going straight from where
07:14we're looking, the car will actually tilt like it's sliding in the corner.
07:18So you'll see a car, in NASCAR a lot of times, you'll actually even be able to see on TV
07:22that the car, it sits, it's never, you're never not sliding.
07:25So the back end always kind of pushes against that wall of air.
07:28So they're basically testing how much force they're getting, side force, down force.
07:33This whole change, what they just made, so we had a little bit too much down force on
07:37the car so they're actually just taking a half inch of duct tape off each side so the wind
07:42doesn't come through quite as much into that area.
07:46And they're thinking that's going to make a significant change.
07:49This actually sucks the air in and everything computes how much down force, how much wind
07:54resistance, how much drag.
07:58So I got a dollar that says that my wife kicks your ass in the main event.
