00:00We're of course a three guitar band, so we constantly need to be kind of like
00:03pushing and pulling and creating room for others. I am too scared to use a looper
00:07live. I admittedly don't have the best timing with my feet. We mic this thing
00:11up right about here and we send it out into the world and try not to make too
00:13many mistakes.
00:39Hello, this is Jeremy Yoon from The Runarounds. Hello from Chicago,
00:43we are here with the band on the minivan tour. This is our this is our first big
00:48tour. We are so so excited and I'm here today to show you around all my gear.
00:53So this is kind of the main guitar I've been using on the site that I used on
00:58season one that I've been using on this run. This is my 2012 custom shop that is
01:05meant to be a sort of recreation of a 52 Tele. We are here year 2026 so this is the
01:1375th anniversary of Fender Telecasters. So again super exciting year for for this
01:17guitar. Yeah, I love this thing. I mean this is the sound of really the second
01:22half of season one kind of episodes you know kind of end of episode four through
01:27the end and it's it's it's it's the main guitar here for for me kind of on the
01:31road. This is a hand-me-down from my lifelong guitar teacher Chris Camozzi. Hello my
01:37friend. He took this thing on the road for years and I've been been very lucky
01:41to kind of been the sort of next pupil that has been that has been taking it
01:46around the country. So I'll use this on probably 70% of the songs we play on the
01:50road. The main position I'm working out of actually is the middle position. I've
01:56banged around these knobs a bunch of times so this guitar is stock other than
01:59these two knobs and this thing which fall off regularly and are replaced
02:03regularly and I didn't do a great job of the last one. It's got some you know
02:07regular Scotch tape kind of keeping it keeping it together but yeah that's the
02:11sound of a guitar on the road I guess. I'm in the middle position for songs like
02:20Ghosts, Cellophane, I'm Bridge. I'll just I'll just go down the set. Sophia I am in the
02:27middle. Hypocrites I'm in for the verses I am in I'm on the neck otherwise
02:36otherwise in the middle. Solo. Solo for that song I'm on the bridge. Funny how the
02:43universe works. The entire thing except for the end is on the bridge and in the
02:49end I'm doing the whoa whoa whoa part it's all the way on the neck. Senior year
02:53whole song is played on the neck. That was a Jesse recommendation. I don't have a
02:56great year for tone. He does so I'll defer to him on basically all of this. So tone is
03:01all the way up the whole pretty much the whole time. I would say the only time the
03:05volume knob is intentionally changed other than being all the way up or all
03:10the way down is verse on Hypocrites. It's probably at about 80%. D'Addario
03:16XS 10 to 46 is everything is in A440. E standard all the way around. Guitar 2, Fender
03:24Mustang. New for this run. This was a gift from from our friend Billy at Fender. I love
03:33this guitar. Jesse has been wanting me to get one of these for forever and again
03:37he's my eyes and ears for tone. It sounds great. It's got a bite that the telly
03:41doesn't that fits a a a an important role in in some of our songs mainly the
03:48new stuff. So it's gonna it's gonna be on bleachers. It's gonna be on chasing the good
03:53times and it's it's of course on it's a wash kind of our biggest sort of like
03:57party throw your guitar against the amp song. I am still experimenting with a
04:02number of different pickup positions. On chasing right now we're going front one
04:07on the back and also for bleachers front one in the back setting and then for
04:10wash they're both all the way all the way at the back and then for the solo I'm
04:13just on the bridge. So a little bit of a little bit of tap dancing going on with
04:17my pinky kind of in the middle of the songs but yeah I I love this thing again it's
04:23got it's got a it's got a bite that those songs need and this one's here set so I
04:28love it. Same tuning same string as the Dario XS 10 to 46 is yeah I keep I keep all
04:37the action on my guitars really low my fingers aren't that strong so I'll take
04:40any bit of help I can get. I play 10s on 11s also also for that reason I was on
04:459s for a while I just kept breaking them but 10s are kind of a nice happy medium to
04:50where I don't feel like I have to fight it too too much and works for me I love it
04:55this one's here. Guitar number three last and very certainly not least is also new
05:00for this run this is a Tom Anderson classic S it's got pickups from the PQ
05:08slash PH series that they did recently it's a car colors kind of sea foam green
05:13sparkle situation I love this guitar one one thing I am very conscious about in
05:20choosing my guitars it's making sure that they kind of like speak in a
05:24different range than the other ones so these pickups are sort of in the range
05:28of of like a P90 type sound if you've ever heard of like Duesenberg guitars
05:33they're somewhat somewhat similar at least in terms of terms of the slot they
05:37fill and I don't have that slot filled in the rest of my and the rest of my
05:41arsenal here so yeah this is this guitar is being played on root beers minivan
05:54arrhythmia what else a couple of others crossroads yeah the star plays a really
06:03important role I love it and I'm super thankful for Danny Henderson and mr.
06:08Tom Anderson for kind of helping me walk through the design process here I've been a
06:11massive fan of Tom Anderson guitar work since I since I was a kid I mean I've
06:16been my hand sort of grew up around a Tom Anderson guitar that that was owned by
06:20again my lifelong guitar teacher Chris Camozzi and that guitar actually was sort
06:25of the main player and episode sort of one to beginning of episode four in the in
06:29the season so anyway this is kind of part two of that one the the old Andersons at
06:33home I was a little too scared to bring it out on the road but this one is a is
06:37a
06:39is a worthy sort of is a worthy sort of accomplice and anyway I just I just love
06:43this thing yes we got again same strings same tuning D'Addario XS 10 to 40
06:49sixes little fun thing about this guitar we got a five-way switcher even though
06:53we've got even though we've got two pickups I'm actually using all five of
06:58them in different parts of the set so minivan bounces back and forth between
07:02positions sort of one one and two for the verses and then for the for the
07:08bridge I'm all the way down in the in the bridge position no pun intended this
07:13is a boost switch so whenever I've got a whenever I got a kind of gain stage it
07:18up just a couple of decibels I'll give this a little bit of a flick I'm still
07:21kind of working out exactly when to do that we're of course a three guitar band
07:26so we constantly need to be kind of like pushing and pulling and creating room for
07:29others which is which is a fun exercise but of course you really kind of
07:33constantly paying attention so it just gives us kind of another another little
07:36toolkit that that I can use to create a sort of right amount of separation at
07:40certain times but anyway love this guitar this one's your stay too let's take a
07:43look at the pedals here I admittedly don't exactly know what I'm talking about
07:47at least in terms of every last knob here but this is sort of the spaceship
07:51that's been that's been taking us through it's been taking us through this whole
07:54tour and through season one so of course I start with the with the
07:58Peterson tuner I love this tuner I love that I wish I wish I could show you I
08:04wish you could show you exactly how it works but I love the the way that they
08:07are able to be very precise with tuning it's a wheel that spins and when the
08:12wheel exactly when the wheel stops spinning that's when you're exactly in
08:16tune with whatever the the note is on the screen and I find that level of
08:20precision to be you know like exactly as tight as I as I need it to be for
08:26it for anything sort of on the road so love is tuner here is say not going
08:30anywhere I go from there into the brown protein this is their sort of take on
08:35the on the stackable overdrive distortion this is I would say the main
08:40distortion pedal I use it's on it's it's for 80% of the song so and also that's
08:44that's anything new all of our new songs and also all the songs we did with Matt
08:49coma in January 2024 and and beyond so that's that's stuff like ghosts minivan
08:55hypocrites crossroads root beer etc that's all in this pedal and I'm mainly
09:01using the right side this is this is sort of the more over over drivey side it
09:08really it does a it's kind of a nice mix between when I when I play it soft it
09:13doesn't cut so hard that it's taken up all the space again three guitar band we're
09:16constantly battling that but when I get over to that bridge pick up and I kind
09:20of lean in a little bit more it does it does kind of brighten up and shine in a
09:24way that that that definitely works for me and it works for this band I only use
09:29the blue side for one song and that's killed my youth that's much more of a
09:33like distorted punk type song it it really it really works for that song and kind
09:39of that song only but anyway that's exactly what I'm getting out of this pedal then I
09:45go from there into the JHS color box which needs no introduction but it is a
09:53always always on pedal for me if I'm really using it as a mostly as a preamp
09:59and helping me out with tone again I've had Jesse dial in exactly where these
10:03knobs are supposed to be but of course it it also acts as like a very light sort of
10:10like gain stage for me that's all that's always on throughout the whole so
10:14generally speaking we're kind of looking at this is kind of like the default
10:18setting and then we'll kind of move move things around from there so I'll give a
10:24I'll give a shout out to our friends Rob and Nick from back in California those
10:31are some of our some two great guys who have a studio out there that William and I
10:36have recorded at for years they introduced me to this pedal the 1981
10:42inventions DRV I have had this exact pedal since 2019 and it has not left the
10:50board and it importantly for us is the sound of those sort of like first two
10:55years of runaround songs so that is you know you're funny how the universe works
11:00your Sophia your it's a wash and your of course senior year as as you'll often
11:07see with this pedal people's favorite setting tends to be the drive anywhere
11:13from sort of almost all the way down to kind of right about here maybe you know
11:197 30 p.m. that's where I that's sort of where I leave it this plus the color box
11:26really gets me and kind of it's a nice spot and importantly it's a little bit
11:30brighter than this setting for those for the songs that we did a longer time
11:35ago it it kind of just seems to fit a little bit more so not changing it it's
11:40not broken so I'm not gonna fix it from there I go it looks like our monitors are
11:46on I go into this unit 67 dry bill boost slash compressor this is this is just the
11:53last bit of game staging I use for solos that's that's it I love it it works it
11:59cuts nicely too and that's again that's kind of a big thing again three guitars
12:04we really got to be conscious of who's shining when this helps that this helps
12:08me sort of during those moments where we're playing solos from there I go into
12:12an earthquake or sea machine it's a chorus this course does a lot I'm realizing I
12:17need to get these knobs exactly back to where there should be this pedal can do what can
12:22do a lot and it almost can do more than I need it to so that's why that's one
12:28things I love about it most is that I can really get this sort of this course
12:32that has a lot of interesting movements that I can take to level 11 if I need it
12:37to but I'm really only using it maybe you know maybe like a third of all of all it
12:42has to offer which is super fun I recently just got a jam effects waterfall
12:47excited to test this one out I don't know if it's gonna make it on the board but
12:50it's here today and then I go from there into chase bliss gravitas and analog
12:59trim oh by the way sorry sorry to miss this gets used and probably 40% of the
13:07songs it's it's anything from like you know no pun intended the chorus on Sophia
13:12where I feel like the guitar needs a little bit of movement to the end to the
13:15end on funny how the bum bum bum bum to kind of just give give it some life if
13:20you will I tend to use these at the same time too it's just a light tremolo I have
13:24it going pretty fast again chase bliss pedals you can do almost anything you
13:30want with any one of their pedals again I feel like I'm maybe getting a third out
13:34of its total functionality but I love the fact that you can do so much with them I've
13:38I've dialed it in in a way that that works for this band but I mean again these
13:43these pedals just have a sort of like a entire choose your own adventure story
13:47book of functionality in each of them so I love them they're totally here to stay
13:51newest the newest edition of this board chase bliss lost and found with the with
13:56the faves bank engager this pedal is is one of the funnest pedals I've ever
14:04purchased it's their first sort of true multi effects there's there's 128 different
14:12sort of like overall presets that you can that you can have with this pebble again
14:20I feel like I'm only getting a small percentage of its functionality into this
14:27current set but I'm using the left side's number one a setting which is this
14:34sort of shoegazy reverb that at the end of the verb it kind of sounds like a ping
14:39pong ball bouncing back and forth it's super fun for my sort of like single
14:44notey parts on on beautiful stranger on on also on the end of funny how the
14:51universe works yeah it's a it's a really unique kind of a long reverb and then on
14:55the right side I'm using setting number five a and that's a that's a synth so I
15:02don't exactly know how they made it but it again it just makes my guitar kind of
15:05sound like you know Daft Punk in 2008 which is which is fun I mainly just use
15:10it for transitions between songs or at the end of the set just making a lot of
15:13noise super fun Strymon timeline is next again needs needs no introduction it's got a
15:20lot of a lot a lot of fun delays I use them honestly somewhat sparingly at least
15:26in this set mainly mainly for like the intros to to some of the songs that the
15:32intro we do for for Ghost I have this sort of long sweeping chords that's that's my
15:37A side and then my my B side I have this sort of like lower lower five delay that I
15:42use just for one little part in Crossroads I love this pedal there's a there's
15:47there's there's multiple albums of fun sets and presets in here that I'm the
15:50that I'm still sort of piecing through always on all the fame to TC
15:54electronic legendary pedal I still I stole this after watching a ton of premium
15:58premier guitar videos on it sounds great I've got the I've got it on the spring
16:03setting I usually just do delay and level kind of straight up and down yeah it's a
16:07it's a reverb I'm comfortable with padded since 2017 if it ain't broke don't fix it
16:13the the blooper from Chase Bliss is something I basically just use at home
16:17I use it I use it for writing I use it for idea generation I am too scared to
16:22use a looper live I admittedly don't have the best timing with my feet so I
16:26worry I'd get myself and my bandmates into a lot of trouble so maybe for a
16:29future set not for today that's the end of the signal chain that's the pedal
16:33board all powered by Strive and Zuma yeah I love this thing amps wise we are
16:39working now with a fender twin reverb this thing is 85 watts of fun which is a
16:47lot more than we need but I'm not somebody who gets tone from sort of like
16:53amp breakup again I'm not great at even even describing tone but I get I got most
16:58of my tone from the combination of the gain staging on my pedals so I do not mind
17:02keeping this amp at usually between three and four we haven't even gotten it
17:06above four yet for this whole tour it's been it's been sounding great and then
17:09you know tube amps being tube amps I like having backup stuff which we are now
17:14using a quad cortex for this is it's it's new to the it's new to the lineup I am
17:19still getting my I'm still I'm still I'm still getting used to the the the
17:27software the tone controls all of the different types of amp models they have
17:33it's been very very fun to learn I just got my hands on one and of course it's a of
17:38course it's a backup she should should amps go down but yeah it's it's been it's
17:45been super fun and it'll definitely be a nice tool to have at home as well when
17:47I'm when I'm playing back in my back in my apartment and I'm not trying to wake up
17:50the whole house so that that's the end of the rig after that we might this thing
17:55up right about here and we send it out into the world and try not to make too
17:58many mistakes all right last but certainly not least guitar picks so I use
18:02Dunlop Tortex 1.0s we made these just for this tour kind of a little hydrofoil
18:09logo and they've got my little guy in his in his in his polo and bow tie there
18:14yeah I I've used these for years again if it ain't if it ain't broke don't fix it I
18:18love the I love the grip that the Tortex has 1.0 thickness is just something I'm
18:23used to that that type of the sort of like lack of wiggle and response works for
18:27me yeah if it ain't broke don't fix it again thanks for hanging out with us
18:32today that was my gear I'm here for the Runarounds minivan tour in 2026 we've got
18:38tons more shows coming up tons and tons of new music coming out you can find us
18:41on the Runarounds the Runarounds band.com and of course we're on
18:46Spotify Apple music the whole works and on Instagram at the Runarounds band this
18:51this has been very fun we're so excited for what the next few months have in store
19:05you
