01:52Hey, hey, hey, hey.
01:54Police have a shooting victim showing up in the picture.
01:57They thought they were shot at a party.
02:00There's a third person who showed up at St. Francis,
02:02who's involved in this also.
02:15There's a casing over here.
02:18There's another one.
02:24And there's multiple back there.
02:27Might be more than one.
02:29Appreciate it.
02:31We're gonna start hauling witnesses
02:32to the detective division to give a statement.
02:41That's right.
02:42Yes, ma'am.
02:45Okay.
02:46I will let the crime scene know.
02:48I appreciate it.
02:50Be down.
03:05For homicide detectives,
03:07their chance of solving a murder
03:08is cut in half
03:10if they don't get a lead
03:11within the first 48 hours.
03:32A little after 1 o'clock this morning,
03:33I got a call from about a murder
03:35that happened out at an event center.
03:37There's three people total shot
03:39and one is deceased.
03:41Two others have been transported
03:42to the hospital.
03:44The victim's name's Antonio Rosales.
03:4943-year-old Antonio Rosales,
03:52known as Tonio,
03:53was born and raised in Mexico.
03:56When he was 19,
03:57he moved to the U.S.,
03:59where he married his wife, Marisol.
04:02They have four children together.
04:05Antonio's passion
04:06was riding horses in Mexican rodeos.
04:11He was shot one time
04:12in the upper left chest.
04:14Two other males that were shot,
04:16one was shot in the abdomen,
04:17the wrist,
04:18and the arm.
04:20The other was shot in the lower leg.
04:23They were both in stable condition.
04:27We got about 10 to 12 people
04:29here at the detective division
04:30to interview.
04:31So we're trying to sort all that out.
04:37I've got the wife.
04:44I'm Detective Farrell.
04:46I'm very sorry
04:47that you're having to be up here
04:48with us today.
04:49We'll try to get you through this
04:51as quickly as we can, all right?
04:54From what I understand,
04:55you've been told about Antonio.
04:57Is that correct?
04:58Do you know that he passed?
05:00Yeah.
05:01Okay.
05:03Can you kind of just walk me through
05:06what happened tonight?
05:09So we were at the party,
05:10and I was sitting here,
05:12and he was sitting next to me.
05:13Antonio?
05:14Yeah.
05:15And he had the baby in his arms
05:17because she was about to go to sleep.
05:19And then the fight broke out in front of us.
05:22And as soon as they started fighting,
05:23and I ran towards the band
05:25because I don't know there's a door to go out.
05:28And then I looked behind me,
05:29and he wasn't behind me.
05:30And then when I came back,
05:32they had him on the floor.
05:34We had to shot to his chest.
05:37Where were you guys at?
05:40So there was a line of tables here.
05:43We were about right here.
05:47And the fight was over here.
05:50Did you see what the fight was about?
05:51No, they just started arguing,
05:53and then one punched the other,
05:55and he fell,
05:56and that's where they shot.
05:59Did you see the person with the gun?
06:01No.
06:02You never saw anybody with a gun?
06:03It sounded like there was two guns.
06:06Okay, and you came back,
06:07and Antonio, he was on the ground?
06:09Yeah, he was on the floor,
06:10and his sister was, um,
06:12like putting pressure on the chest,
06:14and she told me,
06:15I saw when he got shot,
06:16and he put the,
06:17he threw the baby under the table.
06:20According to Antonio's sister,
06:22he was trying to shield
06:23their four-year-old daughter.
06:26Did you ever see anybody with a gun,
06:27even afterwards?
06:29No.
06:29No.
06:31So whose party is it?
06:33My husband's cousin's wife.
06:35It was her birthday?
06:37Yeah.
06:38She gives him the woman's name
06:40and phone number.
06:44This is, uh,
06:46nothing I can do
06:47to bring him back.
06:50Is there anything else,
06:52uh,
06:53that you need from me?
06:55Any questions
06:56or anything like that?
06:59Mm-hmm.
07:00Okay.
07:02I'm very sorry.
07:04I'll be working nonstop
07:06until I can figure out
07:07who did this, okay?
07:09Okay.
07:10I'm very sorry for your loss.
07:12I'll get you out of here, okay?
07:22The victim, Antonio,
07:24he wasn't involved in any of it.
07:26He was just sitting at the table,
07:27just watching over his daughter,
07:31you know,
07:31and takes around.
07:33He tried to hide his daughter
07:34underneath the table,
07:36and then he collapsed
07:37down to the ground.
07:40So, you know,
07:41these guys are being very reckless,
07:43shooting firearms
07:44with this many people
07:45in a room.
07:50All right.
07:52Farrell speaks with the wife
07:53and 14-year-old daughter
07:54of the surviving victim
07:56who was shot in the leg.
07:59where were you at exactly
08:01inside?
08:02I'm going to draw it out for you.
08:10We was over here
08:11on this side,
08:13these two tables over here.
08:15Did you see what caused the fight?
08:18I know that my husband,
08:21I think he was kind of mad
08:23because one of the guys,
08:25I think they're trying
08:26to give your liquor to her.
08:28And my husband looked him like mad.
08:31And then a few minutes later
08:32is when I saw the guy
08:33come and like saying something,
08:35and then they start like fighting.
08:37So that kind of started the fight?
08:39That's what I think.
09:01with a gun like that.
09:03With a gun?
09:05Yeah, he had a gun.
09:07But I feel like he was mixed
09:09because his skin,
09:10it was not like dark, dark.
09:12And then his hair is curly.
09:14Maybe mixed race?
09:16Like Mexican and black.
09:19Okay.
09:20And that guy was like
09:21trying to shoot my husband
09:23and then do like this
09:24and then start like shooting
09:25like the tables behind it.
09:27Is he the only one
09:29that you saw with a gun?
09:30No.
09:31And there was another guy
09:32with the jean jacket,
09:35the white jacket.
09:36That guy,
09:37I saw him in the corner
09:38doing like this.
09:40Where was he at over here?
09:42Over here,
09:42almost in the corner
09:43where the bathroom was.
09:45Can you describe him to me?
09:48He was a spinnaker for sure.
09:50He was having some dark glasses
09:52over here on the back.
09:54Like eyeglasses, sunglasses?
09:55Like sunglasses.
09:57Blue jeans.
09:58Blue jeans.
10:00And I think it was like
10:01a jean jacket
10:01with white.
10:04And he was like
10:05around six foot.
10:07He was skinny though.
10:09How old do you think he was?
10:11I was seven.
10:1319, 20.
10:14Yeah.
10:16Did you ever see
10:18your husband with a gun?
10:20No.
10:22All right.
10:24I think that's all I have.
10:27Thank you for coming down.
10:28Oh, thank you.
10:36Ma'am,
10:37come with me right here.
10:40I'm like,
10:41I know it's like gunshots.
10:42I didn't see him over shooting.
10:44It all happened so fast.
10:46I just hear a cock of a gun
10:47and then shots fired.
10:50No.
10:59The one you saw shooting,
11:01how would you describe him?
11:03I just know he was
11:04a light skinned male.
11:06I see.
11:06And he was taller.
11:08He was probably like
11:09six foot maybe.
11:12Skinny, heavy.
11:15Do you remember
11:19what color clothing
11:20he had on?
11:22I don't know.
11:22It's because of
11:23everything that happened.
11:24My memory just
11:24went blank at that second.
11:28So what was going on?
11:30Looked like a quinceanera
11:31or a brick and mortar?
11:32It was a lady's birthday.
11:33It was this lady's birthday.
11:34They were friends
11:35with my parents.
11:36That's how we got
11:37invited to that party.
11:38Okay.
11:40It was her birthday.
11:42And then her son
11:45had some friends there.
11:48They were the ones
11:49that were shooting.
11:52Now I'm sure
11:52if you question her son,
11:54he's going to know
11:55who it is
11:55because they were there
11:56hanging out with him.
12:13And this is her son
12:15right there.
12:16His name is
12:22How many people
12:24were in his group?
12:25It was probably
12:26like five or six.
12:27Five or six?
12:28Yeah.
12:29I know there are
12:29more volcano,
12:31like cowboy type.
12:32He was not volcano.
12:33He was like
12:34a banger.
12:35But it's like
12:36baggy pants
12:38and all his little friends
12:39with tattoos
12:40and Jordans.
12:42Do you remember
12:43like where
12:44his group
12:45were hanging out
12:46inside?
12:47They were right here.
12:49And you're not aware
12:51of anyone in their group
12:52getting shot?
12:53No.
12:54Because nobody else
12:55had those.
13:00Right here.
13:01If you want to come back
13:02here,
13:03just like that.
13:11getting some good
13:12information
13:13about one
13:14of the shooters.
13:15Nobody knows
13:16who he is,
13:17unfortunately,
13:19right now.
13:19So we're still
13:20trying to get a name
13:21of who this guy is.
13:24The birthday girl's
13:25son
13:27is his
13:28group of friends.
13:29He knows them.
13:31Yeah.
13:36That's probably
13:37going to be
13:37the address.
13:46We're headed out
13:47to Sand Springs.
13:49This girl
13:49that threw
13:50the birthday party,
13:51her son
13:52is supposedly
13:53friends
13:53with the suspects
13:55that we're
13:56trying to ID.
14:00It's this one.
14:11Hello.
14:12Can we talk to you?
14:14Yep.
14:15Come in.
14:26They're coming
14:27downtown.
14:28They're going to
14:28follow us.
14:36All right.
14:37I'm Detective Farrell.
14:39I'm here to talk
14:39to you about
14:40what happened
14:41out there
14:41at the party.
14:43Farrell speaks
14:43with the son
14:44of the woman
14:44who hosted
14:45the party.
14:47When it all
14:48started,
14:49we was all
14:49chilling
14:49and I was
14:50in the back
14:51corner.
14:52I took a shot.
14:53I wasn't really
14:54trying to drink.
14:55I hate drinking.
14:56I hate feeling
14:56hungover.
14:58But I took
14:59some shots.
15:00I sat down,
15:01sitting there
15:01and then
15:02wasn't feeling
15:03hung.
15:04Goes to the
15:04bathroom,
15:04I'm throwing
15:05up.
15:06I'm washing
15:06my face.
15:07Took a drink
15:08of water.
15:09Bryce don't
15:09grab the door,
15:09I hear screaming
15:10and I hear shots.
15:12When I walk
15:13out,
15:13that's when
15:14everyone's already
15:15shooting and
15:16then fighting
15:17and running
15:18and ****.
15:19I see my
15:20cousins fighting.
15:21Who are they
15:22fighting?
15:23I don't know.
15:24I don't know
15:25them.
15:28Who else was
15:29there that wasn't
15:30locked up with
15:31somebody?
15:33Weecho and
15:33his brother,
15:34Max.
15:36Weecho?
15:37Yeah, Weecho.
15:37I don't know
15:37how to spell
15:38that one.
15:38They're second
15:39cousins.
15:40They're like
15:40distant cousins.
15:42Those are the
15:43ones that I was
15:43really kind of
15:44hanging out with.
15:48So are you
15:49aware that
15:50people are saying
15:51it's your friends
15:51that were shooting?
15:54I mean,
15:55I could say
15:55it was one of
15:56them, but I
15:56don't know
15:56who it was.
16:01Whenever you
16:02walked outside,
16:03did you see
16:04someone with a gun?
16:08I see
16:09Max with one.
16:12What kind of
16:12gun was it?
16:13It was probably
16:14a block.
16:17But I don't know
16:18who shot.
16:18Because when I
16:19walked out,
16:19there was no more
16:20shooting.
16:22Max,
16:23he had a gun,
16:24like,
16:25this side,
16:25kind of like that.
16:26So I don't know
16:27if he shot.
16:29Does he have
16:30Facebook or
16:31anything like that?
16:33Yeah.
16:42Max Perez?
16:44Perez.
16:48Do you mind
16:49if I look at this
16:50real quick?
16:54Is this a picture
16:55of him?
16:57Yeah,
16:58that's him.
17:01That guy
17:02in the corner
17:02doing like this.
17:04It was like
17:04a jean jacket
17:05with white.
17:10Was Max
17:11wearing those
17:11sunglasses tonight,
17:12too?
17:13Yeah.
17:15He was having
17:16some dark glasses
17:17over here
17:17in the back.
17:18Sunglasses.
17:21He always has
17:22those glasses
17:22everywhere he goes.
17:38Is that what
17:39he looks like
17:39right now?
17:40Yeah.
17:47Where does Max
17:48live at?
17:49I think it's like
17:50B.A.
17:50or somewhere
17:51far out there.
17:53He says he lives
17:54in Broken Arrow,
17:55a suburb
17:5614 miles away.
17:58What kind of car
17:58does Max drive?
18:00Max drives
18:01a Volkswagen.
18:03I think
18:03gray or white.
18:07He says like
18:08in a relationship
18:09with
18:11she is
18:13Max's girl.
18:15Who else
18:16did you see
18:16with a gun?
18:19Just Max
18:20when I walked out.
18:22Who did Max
18:24leave with?
18:25Honestly,
18:25I don't know.
18:26And Weecho,
18:27do you have him
18:27on Facebook?
18:29Weecho,
18:30I don't think so.
18:32What was Weecho
18:33wearing?
18:34Weecho was wearing
18:34just a plain black shirt.
18:37Do you have a number
18:37for Weecho?
18:39No,
18:39I don't have
18:40a number of Max's.
18:42You carry a gun?
18:44Yeah.
18:45Did you shoot?
18:46No.
18:47No.
18:47I walked over.
18:47Did you pull a gun out?
18:48I was about to,
18:49but then that's
18:50when I seen Max
18:50and I was worried
18:51about Max
18:51trying to do
18:52some more stupid
18:53if he did shoot.
18:54So I grabbed him
18:55because he had
18:56a gun like that.
18:58What about Weecho?
19:00I know he has guns.
19:01I don't know
19:01if he had one on him.
19:04All right.
19:05Just hang tight for me.
19:14He puts a gun
19:15in Max's hand.
19:16Yeah.
19:17Most of the people
19:18are saying
19:19the guy that was shooting
19:20was standing in the area
19:21where the birthday girl's son
19:23said that he saw Max.
19:25They described that jacket.
19:28He was wearing sunglasses.
19:30I mean, clothing-wise,
19:32facial, the sunglasses,
19:34everything about it
19:35is Max.
19:4028-year-old
19:41Maximiliano Perez-Pina
19:43was born in Los Angeles.
19:45He attended high school
19:47in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
19:49He has no prior convictions.
19:53Weecho,
19:54whoever that is.
19:55It's supposed to be
19:56Max's brother,
19:57but I don't know his name.
20:00The Warrant's squad
20:01will look out for Max
20:02as detectives prepare lineups
20:04for their witnesses.
20:06I don't want to wait too long.
20:08That gun's going to be gone
20:09before too long.
20:21The next day...
20:23That guy.
20:25Sweet.
20:27Mark showed about
20:29four or five different people
20:30the photo lineups,
20:31and every one of them
20:32picked Max Perez
20:35as being the shooter.
20:37So...
20:38We have PC now.
20:39We're working on a warrant.
20:42He does have a white Volkswagen
20:43that's registered to him.
20:45It's a Volkswagen Jetta.
20:48Figure out the tag.
20:54About an hour after the murder,
20:56we asked to get an axon hit
20:57on his car at 71st and Louis
20:59going west.
21:01Max's car was spotted
21:03six miles away
21:04from the crime scene.
21:07So we learned that Max
21:08is driving a little white sedan.
21:10We tracked that car out
21:11to the area of 71st and Yale.
21:14and we found it in the car.
21:22Morris just found the car.
21:24All right.
21:26Warrants had been out looking for it.
21:28They found it at an apartment complex.
21:31I'll try to get to the back of the vehicle.
21:33Table.
21:35Warrants has gone and talked
21:36to management out there
21:37and learned that Max's girlfriend
21:39is actually renting an apartment
21:40right in front of where
21:41that car is found.
21:44Our warrants units,
21:45they're sitting up on that right now.
21:48I need you to contain the helmet
21:50and we should be good.
21:52Tell us, you start shooting at us.
21:55I'll meet y'all out there.
22:03We're headed down
22:04south part of Tulsa.
22:06We know that Max has a girlfriend
22:07who lives down here
22:08at this apartment.
22:10His car is there.
22:19That's his car right there.
22:261632, we're going to start announcements.
22:29This is the best-reached apartment.
22:32We need to come outside
22:33with nothing in your room
22:34so we need to move to the officer.
22:55All right.
22:59All right.
23:00I'm going to start
23:00with number one.
23:10Max.
23:11We can come outside
23:12and do it now.
23:17All right.
23:1840, moving up.
23:29Whatever, you're ready.
23:35Clear.
23:38Nobody's in there.
23:40Max isn't in there.
23:41Department's empty.
23:43His girlfriend,
23:44I don't know if she has a car or not,
23:46but if she does,
23:46they're probably gone.
23:51This thing's gassed pretty bad,
23:53so it's going to have to air out
23:54quite a while
23:54before we actually go in there.
23:57We'll get crime scene out here.
24:13They found a couple of mags
24:14for a rifle,
24:15a pistol,
24:17holster,
24:18and that's really about it.
24:20No jean jacket.
24:22We contacted Max's work.
24:24He's not shown up.
24:25Max's girlfriend,
24:26she hasn't shown up for work.
24:30Max has turned his phone off.
24:32I assume that they're probably together
24:34at this point,
24:35so I'm going to look into her phone
24:38and maybe that can direct us
24:39to where they're at.
24:42We'll leave it up for warrants.
24:44Thank you, guys.
24:45Yes, sir.
25:07Six days into the investigation,
25:09as the warrant squad continues to search
25:11for Max and his girlfriend.
25:13I got one witness to all the second shooter.
25:16Farrell gets another lead.
25:18I got information through Crime Stoppers tip
25:21that the other shooter involved in this
25:23was Max's brother,
25:24Weecho.
25:27His name's Luis Perez.
25:29So I'm going to put a photo lineup together.
25:32We'll see.
25:36We're headed to show a photo lineup
25:37to the wife of Manuel.
25:39Manuel was shot in the leg.
25:41She was there when all this happened,
25:43and she was really close
25:44to this second shooter.
25:46So we'll go see if she can pick out Luis.
25:52Hi.
25:52How are you?
25:53I'm going to have him show it to you, okay?
26:03Well, thank you for your time.
26:09She picked him.
26:10Yeah.
26:12The witness identifies Luis Perez
26:14as the second shooter.
26:18She went like, boom, boom, boom.
26:20That's him right there.
26:21That's the one who had a darker complected.
26:24She said,
26:25that was the one that had a gun
26:26that was trying to get at my husband.
26:29If you're going to get a warrant out for brothers,
26:31that's going to be awesome.
26:39Luis Angel Perez,
26:41he's the one they were calling Weecho.
26:45He doesn't have any serious past charges.
26:4927-year-old Luis Angel Perez
26:52was born and raised in Tulsa.
26:55He works for a metal fabricating company.
27:00So Warrant's got information
27:02about Luis's phone.
27:04The business way out east, Tulsa,
27:06recovered it.
27:08It was tossed under the bridge.
27:11So I'm thinking he tried to toss it in the river
27:14and it didn't quite make it.
27:16We learned that Luis works in West Tulsa.
27:19Warrant's went out there
27:20and contacted his bosses.
27:22They notified them that he didn't show up.
27:25They were also informed that Luis's girlfriend
27:28had shown up out there
27:29trying to get his paycheck
27:30and notified them
27:32that Luis would be gone indefinitely.
27:35That tells me that Luis is probably on the run
27:37and has a big part of this.
27:40Luis's girlfriend,
27:41we ended up getting her contact information.
27:45We've been able to reach out to her
27:47to see if she'll come in and talk to us.
27:49I'm typing up a search warrant for her phone.
28:00The next day.
28:02My name's Nathan Schilling.
28:04I'm a detective up here.
28:05Okay.
28:06Luis's girlfriend agrees to come to homicide.
28:11The birthday party?
28:13Yeah.
28:13Were you there?
28:15Mm-hmm.
28:16Okay, did you know the birthday girl?
28:19No.
28:20What do you remember happening
28:23leading up to and during the shooting?
28:26Well, I mean, I'm not sure
28:27because I didn't see it happen.
28:29I heard shots,
28:30and right now I'm just looking at everybody else's day.
28:33So what happened after you right now?
28:36I just don't know.
28:38So when you left,
28:39did Luis leave with you?
28:40Mm-hmm.
28:42Live together?
28:43Mm-hmm.
28:45Where's Luis right now?
28:47I'm not sure.
28:48When did he leave?
28:51Uh, excuse me.
28:53I haven't heard from him since.
28:55How long have you guys been together?
28:59Um, five years.
29:01You've been together five years,
29:02and he just leaves without telling you
29:04where he's going or why he's leaving?
29:06Mm-hmm.
29:08He said,
29:08I'm going to the store,
29:10I'm going to my mom's,
29:11I'm going...
29:11He said, I'll be back.
29:12He said, I'll be back.
29:14And he left.
29:15And that was Sunday?
29:16Mm-hmm.
29:17How did he leave?
29:20I'm not sure.
29:22You need to try to call him?
29:24Yeah.
29:26Obviously, he just says,
29:27it's really sad.
29:29Okay.
29:30If you lie to help Luis,
29:34at a minimum,
29:35that's considered obstruction,
29:37which is misdemeanor.
29:39And at a maximum,
29:40it's considered an accessory after the fact.
29:44So you don't know where he's at
29:45or where he would go?
29:48No.
29:50So you know someone died, correct?
29:53Yeah, I was going to say so not.
29:56Here's the deal.
29:57We have a warrant to search your phone.
30:06So her boyfriend is one of our suspects,
30:08and she wants to sit there and act like she doesn't know anything about what's going on,
30:13but yet he disappears the day of the murder
30:16and hasn't called or texted,
30:20hadn't told her where he was going, nothing.
30:24Depending on if she's given him any aid to skip town
30:28and to avoid detection and arrest,
30:30she could be looking at some trouble.
30:39So a little over a week after the murder,
30:43she receives $1,000 from Luis in a transfer.
30:50And then later that same day,
30:52she transfers $16,630 pesos to a lady,
30:58and I'm assuming in Mexico.
31:00You're not going to transfer pesos in America,
31:02so there's a very good chance our boy's down in Mexico.
31:21It would appear that Luis's girlfriend
31:23might be leaving some stuff out.
31:30Let's see what she's got to say.
31:38Is what you've told me the truth?
31:42I told you what I know, at least.
31:45When's the last time you had any contact
31:48or heard anything from Luis?
31:51It was that night.
31:53Okay.
31:54So did Luis send you $1,000 on Monday?
31:58His account did.
32:00I'm not sure how I got it,
32:01but I have it on my phone.
32:04And then what did you do with that $1,000?
32:09I'd be rent.
32:11Here locally?
32:12Mm-hmm.
32:13Not in Mexico?
32:14Mm-hmm.
32:18Who is...
32:19Grandma.
32:21Your grandma?
32:22Mm-hmm.
32:23And what did you send her Monday?
32:26Saturday night.
32:29What do you think that looks like?
32:32I don't know.
32:33What are you guys thinking?
32:35It looks like you're sending money to him in Mexico.
32:41I want to talk to my lawyer at this point
32:43because I feel like anything I say,
32:44you guys are going to twist around.
32:47Because you guys...
32:47That's probably a good idea.
32:49Because remember what I told you?
32:51You could be an accessory
32:52or you could be obstruction.
32:54Mm-hmm.
32:55Based on what I see in your phone,
32:58I'm going to go with accessory.
33:08Max's girlfriend decided to jump in the water with him
33:12and Luis's girlfriend made the same decision.
33:14So, we'll see what the DA's office thinks about it.
33:25Detectives in the warrant squad
33:26continue the hunt for Max,
33:28his girlfriend, and Luis.
33:34A month into the search...
33:37We got Max's girlfriend,
33:39his phone records back.
33:40This shows that she's leaving Tulsa
33:42on the 28th that night.
33:44She goes through Oklahoma City,
33:46travels down to Dallas.
33:48Going deeper in her phone records,
33:50we found out that she had made a stop
33:53at a quick trip down in Dallas.
33:55They're both together.
34:02Her last hit on her cell phone
34:05was north of Laredo, Texas,
34:06at a bus stop right at the border to Mexico.
34:10It's a bus station used to travel from the U.S. down to Mexico.
34:18We got their passenger logs
34:21at 9.15 on the 29th.
34:24Max's girlfriend, Max Perez,
34:26and Luis Perez all boarded a bus.
34:30Their destination was in Zacatecas, Mexico,
34:33which is where she's from.
34:37We know they're down there in Mexico.
34:39They're together.
34:40Yeah.
34:41We've been in contact with the feds,
34:43and they've been in contact with authorities
34:46down in Mexico,
34:47and they're working that end of it.
34:51It's going to be a long process.
34:53They could be caught next week.
34:54They could be caught four years from now.
34:58We were also able to get
35:00flawed camera footage from the area.
35:03The car that they're in
35:04at the quick trip,
35:06Nissan Versa.
35:07It's going to be Luis's girlfriend's car.
35:10How did he leave?
35:12I'm not sure.
35:14The DA,
35:16they've decided to file charges
35:17for accessory
35:18for both Luis's girlfriend
35:20and Max's girlfriend.
35:23Luis's girlfriend
35:24is getting arraigned for accessory.
35:27We're going to make contact with her
35:28to see if she'll come talk to us.
35:36All right.
35:38Luis's girlfriend agrees
35:39to return to homicide
35:41with her attorney.
35:45That's a picture of your car in Dallas.
35:49That's Dallas, Texas.
35:51Okay.
35:52Your car
35:53is down in Dallas
35:55where they get on a bus.
35:56And they get to Mexico.
36:01Did you drive him to Dallas?
36:05No.
36:08Now's the time to be honest.
36:23I know you have a lot more information
36:25than what you're telling me right now.
36:30I get it looks guilty,
36:31like obviously for leaving,
36:33but I don't want to say something
36:34I don't even know.
36:35We're not asking you to say anything
36:36you don't know,
36:37but I think it's reasonable
36:39to assume
36:41he's nervous,
36:42he wants to leave
36:42because he's involved in something.
36:45Yeah.
36:46Okay,
36:46well do you,
36:47do you assume that Max and Luis
36:49were the ones that were involved
36:50in this murder?
36:54not Luis,
36:55no,
36:55I don't believe that.
36:57What if I told you that
37:00it's a definite
37:01that there were two people
37:02that were shooting
37:03and I have multiple witnesses
37:05that picked both of them out
37:07of photo arms.
37:09A lot of people
37:10were firing shots,
37:11but my back was too,
37:12so I never
37:13like saw what happened.
37:14So you couldn't say
37:15it wasn't Luis?
37:17No,
37:18I can't
37:18because I never
37:19saw what happened.
37:22Who did you send
37:22the money to
37:23in Mexico?
37:25I don't remember the name.
37:27But originally
37:27you said it was
37:28your grandma
37:29or something?
37:31But that's not
37:31your grandma?
37:32No.
37:37What did Luis
37:38tell you about
37:39what happened?
37:40He never
37:41went into detail
37:43about what happened.
37:44And I kind of
37:45was just like,
37:46well,
37:47you got yourself
37:48in the suspense.
37:50Because I didn't
37:51do anything,
37:51so I was just pissed
37:52that it was even a thing,
37:53that it even happened.
37:57All right.
37:58I think we're done.
38:03Luis's girlfriend
38:04and Max's girlfriend
38:05assisted them
38:06in leaving the country.
38:08They're both being charged
38:09as an accessory
38:11to the murder.
38:12You just never know
38:14what some people think
38:15and how they treat
38:16certain situations,
38:17you know.
38:18They should have just
38:19called the police
38:20to let us know
38:21where they were.
38:22They obviously had
38:23a choice to make
38:24and they just chose
38:24the wrong one.
38:33Two months later...
38:35Max and Luis were both picked
38:36up in Zacatecas, Mexico.
38:39The FBI had their contacts
38:41down there.
38:42They ended up getting
38:43them arrested.
38:44They'd been brought back
38:45and they're now in Tulsa.
38:48On the way over here
38:49from the jail,
38:49Luis, he lawyered up.
38:51Call your phone.
38:54Anyone?
38:55I've got a search warrant
38:56for his DNA
38:56and fingerprints,
38:57so we're going to do that
38:58and send him back over there.
39:05What's up, Max?
39:06Hey.
39:07I'm Detective Farrell.
39:08These slurs are silly.
39:10Slurs.
39:13You know why you're here?
39:15Yes, I do.
39:16If you're willing
39:16to talk to me,
39:17okay,
39:18about what happened,
39:19I'll just have you
39:19sign right there.
39:21I don't.
39:22Okay.
39:23You want an attorney?
39:24Yes, sir.
39:25This is a search warrant.
39:27That's for your DNA.
39:31Unfortunately,
39:31he doesn't want to tell us
39:33this side of the story.
39:35You know,
39:35there's always
39:36unanswered questions
39:37and we'd like to,
39:38you know,
39:38see the other side
39:39of the story,
39:40but unfortunately,
39:42he chose not to provide that.
39:48We didn't get a statement
39:49from Max and Luis.
39:51I think they already
39:52had it in their mind
39:53that they were going
39:53to talk to us.
39:56It originally started
39:57because someone
39:58had tried to give
39:59an underage girl
40:00some alcohol at the party,
40:02which stirred up an argument.
40:05At some point,
40:06Max bumped into
40:07one of the people
40:08that were over by Antonio,
40:09which started up the fight,
40:11which resulted in Max
40:12and Luis both pulling out
40:14guns and shooting.
40:16I mean,
40:17it's unfortunate.
40:18With a big group party,
40:20with young kids there,
40:21there was no reason
40:21to have guns there.
40:24Antonio had nothing
40:25to do with any of it.
40:27He wasn't a part
40:28of the fight or anything.
40:29He happened to be
40:30at the wrong place
40:30at the wrong time.
40:32It's very tragic.
40:36There's no reason
40:38No?
40:46No.
40:47No.
40:51No.
41:02No.
41:28The baby, sometimes she's like, let's go see Papa.
41:33She knows that he's, you know, at the cemetery and she knows that he's sleeping because that's what I told
41:38her when she saw him in the casket.
41:42When they were shooting, he hugged her like this and then he threw her under the table so she wouldn't
41:49get shot.
41:50So behind the baby's dress is his blood.
41:54That's something of him that's there.
42:03He worked very hard to accomplish a lot of things.
42:10He loved rodeos.
42:12Every Sunday he would go to the rodeo and perform.
42:18He grew up without a father so he wanted to make sure that his kids, you know, they had everything,
42:24you know, and they did.
42:26I miss everything about him.
42:28Like you lost your, your other half, you know, and we have been together for this long.
42:35So it's like, how do you live?
42:37You know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know,
42:43you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know,
42:43you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know,
42:43you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know,
42:43you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know,
42:43you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know,
42:43you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know,
42:43you know, you know, you know, you know, you
42:43You
