00:00So Saki will be on the mound going up against Griffin.
00:02And here we go.
00:03Overnight lines, Craig, give or take minus 175,
00:06depending where you're shopping at.
00:07We're now seeing most outlets 215 or higher as the favorite for the Dodgers
00:12and a total that sits at nine, Craig.
00:15Yeah, man.
00:17Yesterday was a tough one for those nationals, you know?
00:19I mean, I guess the good news is that C.J. Abrams is off to a good start for them.
00:23I know that's somebody who they really need.
00:25But look, you got to call it what it is.
00:28Washington, who I thought the first week played pretty good baseball,
00:33have sort of run into the buzzsaw that is the Dodgers at this point.
00:37And, you know, naturally, one out of every three games,
00:39you're going to get absolutely crushed betting on L.A.
00:41because they're not going to win.
00:43And then you're going to be laying this big number,
00:44and you're going to be back to square one,
00:46or let's just say square zero at this point.
00:48But Foster Griffin, who is back in the big leagues,
00:52is going to have a real test today against Los Angeles.
00:54You alluded to Mookie Betts being out of the lineup.
00:56I don't know that it matters that much.
00:58The hot name right now for L.A. is Andy Pajas.
01:01I believe he leads the major leagues in hitting this season,
01:04just tearing the cover off the ball.
01:07I would expect L.A. to win today,
01:09but obviously always dangerous when you're laying minus 200 or above.
01:14Certainly is.
01:14You take a look again at the temperatures,
01:16which aren't bad in Washington today, Craig, about 65 degrees.
01:19But again, that heavy cloud of rain that's going to come through,
01:21which we always bring up the point where if you're going to bet a heavy favorite,
01:24most of the time, Craig, you're basically betting on pitcher versus pitcher,
01:27and then you have a better lineup, obviously, with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
01:30But if that pitcher only goes two to three innings,
01:33when you expected five or six innings,
01:34that could throw it to a little bit of an array.
01:36But then again, the Dodgers have a very good bullpen.
01:38However, Foster Griffin is going to be pitching today.
01:4121 batters he's faced on the season.
01:42As a lefty, very good against lefties,
01:44has been a little bit shaky against right-handed batters, Craig.
01:47A .308 ISO against and a .396 weighted on-base percentage.
01:50However, if you look at that Dodgers lineup, Craig,
01:53from start to finish against lefties on the season,
01:55they have really struggled with it.
01:56You open up the show saying,
01:57hey, some of these teams just can't get it together,
01:59including my Philadelphia Phillies.
02:00It's like, hey, throw any junk lefty out there early in the season.
02:03Their timing is off.
02:04So far, Dodgers' timing has been off against lefties.
02:07Yeah, it's exactly what I said before,
02:09is that you go through spring training in Florida and Arizona,
02:12and every team generally has one lefty,
02:15maybe two in their starting rotation,
02:16maybe even three, just depending on the team.
02:18You don't, as a lefty, have an opportunity,
02:21or even as a righty, really,
02:22to see that much left-handed quality pitching
02:26because the guys are out of the game
02:27after the third or fourth inning for about a month,
02:29and then you expect all of a sudden
02:31in the last week of the season
02:32for that guy to make that one six or seven inning start
02:35and all of a sudden to succeed.
02:36So this is going to take time.
02:39The one thing my takeaway from this game
02:40is it could be a lower scoring game,
02:43I think, between LA and Washington today,
02:45and that's usually my rule of thumb on Sundays.
02:47If you look at the entire slate,
02:49my guess is above 50% on Sundays,
02:52you're going to get unders in Major League Baseball.
02:55It's a travel day.
02:56It's a get-home day.
02:58Some people have their families in town.
03:00By the way, I should mention, also a holiday today.
03:03Who even knows what's going on before these games today, too?
03:06So it's not like a blind bet of close your eyes
03:08and just bet all the unders,
03:09but my guess is you're going to get a lot
03:11of more low-scoring affairs on a Sunday afternoon.
03:14Easter eggs all over the place here on Hotel Rooms, Craig.
03:17It could be a little bit distracting,
03:18but if we look at this game and say,
03:19all right, it's early in the season.
03:21For me, Craig, I typically like to say,
03:22you know what?
03:23I can wager confident about a month into the season.
03:25Give me a couple starts out of the pitchers.
03:27Give me 100 at-bats or so out of these guys.
03:28But sometimes you have to look back to last year.
03:30You take a look at Sasaki.
03:31The one thing he struggled with last year, Craig,
03:33he faced 96 left-handed batters.
03:35Had a weighted on-base percentage
03:37against a .341 and an ISO of .198.
03:39Both of those slightly elevated.
03:41Higher walk percentage.
03:42Also a lower K percentage here
03:43to left-handed batters.
03:44The reason I bring that up,
03:45the expected lineup today for Washington,
03:47Woods, lefty.
03:48Garcia, lefty.
03:49Lyle, lefty.
03:50Abrams, lefty.
03:51Nunez, switch it, which means he'll be a lefty.
03:53Vivas, lefty.
03:54Ruiz, lefty.
03:55You're looking at a possibility
03:56of maybe seven left-handed batters,
03:58which when you're looking to strike
03:59an upset early in the season,
04:00maybe something like that you can lean on.
04:02But it is always hard
04:03just going against the Dodgers.
04:04Nobody wants to go against the Dodgers.
04:06Yeah, you just said Nassim Nunez's name
04:09and Sam let out a chuckle,
04:10which we didn't hear on the air.
04:12As if he's a huge factor in today's lineup.
04:15No disrespect to Nassim Nunez, Donnie.
04:18But yeah, I mean,
04:19it should be a fun game today in Washington.
04:21But man, those Nats, man.
04:23Like, trying to avoid 100 losses.
04:25You got to win every once in a while
04:26and this has got to be one of them.
