00:00And we know that violence, division and insecurity are affecting the lives of
00:07billions of people around the world. Many feel that their heart is in pieces, the
00:14bereft, the wounded, the refugee. This week our gaze and our prayers have turned
00:22towards the land where Jesus was crucified and raised from the dead. Today
00:28as we shout with joy that Christ is risen, let us pray and call with renewed
00:36urgency for an end to the violence and destruction in the Middle East and the
00:41Gulf. May our Christian sisters and brothers know and celebrate the hope of
00:49the empty tomb. May all people of the region receive the peace, justice and
00:56freedom they long for.
