00:00And Steph might actually jump, jump on Sunday.
00:02A little bit.
00:03Look, it's a little crow hop.
00:04Totally.
00:05But anyway, yeah, Steph's back.
00:07And I want to know what kind of chance you think that this gives them to do something.
00:18I'll just leave it at that.
00:21I'm going to do a championship.
00:23How about just to play a playoff game?
00:26Like, can we make that the bar?
00:28Okay.
00:29So what you're saying is what kind of chance does this give the Warriors to come out of the play
00:33-in tournament?
00:33Win two games in the play-in.
00:35I think that's less than 50-50.
00:37Wow.
00:38Okay.
00:38I mean, we're talking about two road elimination games.
00:43This is not going to be easy.
00:46But I gave them no chance if Steph Curry's not playing.
00:50Right.
00:50And now I give them some chance.
00:52Great chance?
00:53No.
00:54Good chance?
00:55Eh.
00:56You know what I mean?
00:57I mean, it's kind of like a one and three.
00:59Yeah.
01:00I give them Rafi Devers at the dish.
01:02Okay?
01:03Maybe even Luis Sarai's at the dish.
01:05Yeah.
01:06Like batting title-ish.
01:08But that's still about a one and three.
01:11Right.
01:11That's good.
01:12And three and ten or whatever.
01:13Yeah.
01:13Even that is maybe a little bit optimistic.
01:18To be honest with you.
01:19You know what I mean?
01:19They've got to do the first game.
01:21And then once you do the first game, then you go, heh, heh.
01:23Now we're going to do this again.
01:25Two nights later, two road elimination games is not for the faint of heart.
01:30But we're here.
01:32And outside of Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody, there is the chance that the Golden State Warriors
01:39are at, so I guess you can't call them full strength, but some sort of strength, in a week
01:45and a half when they'll play the first of these basketball games.
01:49Yes, they're the ten.
01:50We can stop.
01:51The whole thing is they're the ten.
01:52Right.
01:53They're the ten.
01:53I don't know where they're going.
01:55I don't know if it's Clippers or Blazers.
01:57Those two are neck and neck.
01:58But the Warriors are going to be the ten, and they'll be in one of those two cities in about
02:0311 days, and they're going to play a basketball game.
02:05And right now, it is on track for Steph and Kristaps, maybe Al Horford.
02:11That's maybe another question I'd love to ask.
02:13And the rest of the guys, you know, Draymond and Melton, Pods, and all of them, being ready
02:20to go for that basketball game, and you give them a shot.
02:22You give them a definite shot, especially, like, if Al can come back and play.
02:26And the thing about Melton is kind of a head-scratcher, like, what has kind of happened with his offensive
02:32game, because he is really struggling offensively.
02:35But the one thing about last night with the Warriors is they got to do something they haven't
02:40been able to do in a long time, which is DNPCD.
02:44Steve Kerr had the chance to not play guys based on his decision, because you had enough
02:49healthy bodies to where you could actually not play guys, as opposed to, I don't know,
02:54the previous game, the previous night, where it's like, yeah, you have a hurt hand.
02:59Sorry, you're going to have to shoot left-handed.
03:01You're going to have to play anyway.
03:03So last night, they at least were able to, you know, have a couple of guys not play based
03:08on the fact that you had healthy bodies.
03:09Well, in theory, that's another thing about this whole, like, you're the 10 seed, is the
03:14Warriors have a week to go, a week plus to go.
03:18And the only thing they need to think about is absolutely maximizing the health, optimizing
03:29the situation for this game in 11 days.
03:32And I guess maybe it's 12 days.
03:33I don't know, 11 or 12.
03:34We don't have the schedule yet.
03:35But Tuesday or Wednesday, not next week, but the week after, the Warriors will be in either
03:41Portland or LA.
03:42And the only thing that matters this week is tuning up, ramping up, and having the health
03:47in a perfect spot.
03:49Honestly, the outcome of these basketball games this week, it doesn't matter.
03:54Like, I hate saying that.
03:55I know the Warriors wouldn't like hearing that.
03:58I will still root for them to win the games just because that's in my DNA.
04:03But it doesn't matter.
04:05Here, you're going to be the 10 seed, and what you want to do this week is have him and
04:11his
04:11helpers ready to go.
04:12Yeah.
04:13And you're not officially, officially the 10 seed, but like, you're three back with five
04:17to go, so it doesn't look great.
04:19You do have a game still against the Clippers, so you could be in a spot where that game could
04:24matter if the Clippers continue to slippity slide.
04:27So you could climb up to be nine.
04:29It'd be hard to be eight.
04:31Heck, it's going to be almost impossible to be nine.
04:33So you're probably the 10, but until you get to that spot where you absolutely are the
04:3810, you still want to push and try to see if you can get nine, and eight is not totally
04:44off the table yet math-wise, so.
04:47I actually don't even know that because Portland and the Clippers, don't they play each other
04:51a couple of times still?
04:52So therefore, someone is winning.
04:54You know what I mean?
04:55Like, the Warriors, they're going to be the 10, dude.
04:58I'm with you.
04:59I'm with you, but.
05:00These teams both have the tiebreaker on them.
05:02You would have to jump the Clippers by four games in five nights.
05:07I just, come on.
05:08I mean, you could be the nine, and they play Portland once, the Clippers do.
05:13They play Portland, they play OKC, but they also play Sacramento and Dallas, so you would
05:19figure that they're going to win one of those.
05:21So you would need probably an 0-5 Clipper run, including a loss to you.
05:26Right, and you would still need to go four and one with games against the Rockets and
05:31the Lakers still coming, too.
05:32So yeah, you're not wrong.
05:34You're the 10, but I'm just thinking about it in terms of how the Warriors would look
05:38at it.
05:39They're not going to go into these next five games and think, we're the 10, so Steph,
05:43you play 18 minutes, and Chris Stapps, you don't play.
05:46They're still going to try to go out there and win games.
05:48Absolutely, but I also would say, if you looked at them right now and you said, OK, what's
05:54important over these last five, winning whatever night it is, winning tonight's game or making
06:01sure that Steph is absolute optimal health for a week and a half from now, there's no
06:06question what they would say.
06:07Yeah, exactly.
06:08There's no question.
06:08So they will push to win, but they will push none of their players.
06:12That's how I would say it.
06:13And you're right, and once you get to that spot where you can come out and Steph comes back
06:17on Sunday and you lose to Houston, and the Clippers, I think they play that day if they
06:22come out and they win.
06:23Well, now you're four back with four to go, and you don't have the tiebreaker, so then
06:26it's over.
06:27So then you get to the spot where, all right, how can we make Steph comfortable and ramp
06:31him up?
06:32Same thing with Chris Stapps, and can we get Al back?
06:35And Draymond, you're going to monitor his minutes and make sure that he's fresh and ready
06:38to go for the play-in.
06:40So I'm not saying that you're not absolutely right because you are, but you're still maybe a half
06:46a step away from really enacting that plan.
06:49You know what's fascinating is the dynamic that unfolds, and we always love to test and
06:57use our show sometimes to really dip our toe in the water and understand how a lot of you
07:03are thinking in this moment.
07:04So I never want to, especially early in a day or early in a show, jump to too many conclusions.
07:11But if I even look at, you know, I mean, here's a couple texts, the last couple that have
07:17come in, Boxer and Gerson work injury attorneys text line.
07:21Warriors have not won back-to-back road games since the last week of December 2025, dude.
07:28Ooh, the dude.
07:29I don't know who the dude is.
07:30Is it you or me?
07:31925.
07:32You shouldn't even get a chance at the playoffs if you're under 500.
07:34It's a bit pathetic.
07:37So I get it.
07:39As Warrior fans, you're sort of being asked to put your arms around something that you're
07:46not used to hugging.
07:47Like the Warriors are going to be under 500, and they're probably on some level limping
07:55in to a play-in tournament in which they will be the road underdog.
08:01And then we're over here going, get excited!
08:05And I get it.
08:07I get there's a lot of Warrior fans that are going to say, miss me.
08:11It's not hitting me in that muscle.
08:13Some of you it will.
08:14And I think when we get there, it'll feel different.
08:19But this news of Steph being back, maybe in this moment doesn't feel exactly the way we
08:27imagined it would.
08:28I'll put it that way.
08:30Yeah, I mean, we imagined that it would mean like, if you want to go all the way back to
08:34like November, and if you knew that Steph would be out for a couple of months before
08:38the Jimmy injury, you'd think, okay, like Steph will be back in time for the play-in,
08:42and we still have Jimmy, and you know, you might be able to go on a run because we saw
08:46it last year.
08:47And the texter, it's kind of a clever use of the date because it was 2025, but it was this
08:53season.
08:54And I'm looking at it now.
08:55It was December 29th and the 31st.
08:59They won at Brooklyn, and then they won at Charlotte, back-to-back road games.
09:03So yeah, they haven't done it since 2025, but we're going back three months.
09:07And I get it.
09:08If you want to be, you know, a doubting Thomas or be cynical, you're allowed to fan however
09:13you want to fan.
09:14I just want to see this team mostly whole into an elimination game, and let's just see
09:19what happens.
