00:00Uh, and, and one of the things that, that I find super interesting is your approach play.
00:05And you talked about, you know, going to work with John Tillery, of course, I'm sure y'all
00:08did tremendous work on, on changing some technique, how your body moves, uh, especially the pattern
00:14that I know y'all try to create.
00:16Uh, it's, it's, it seems something that, that isn't one day to the next that y'all are trying
00:20to change a whole lot.
00:21You just seem to always be working on the same stuff, but, uh, I want to just go through
00:25some numbers here with you, Seth.
00:26So in 2023, all the way to this year, you finished 23rd, 47th and 12th, uh, in your
00:32approach play, which is, I, I find to be extremely elite.
00:36So can you just kind of talk about, uh, how that part of your game is developed?
00:41And of course you're using Strixon irons with a combo set, which I think is interesting
00:46too.
00:46You know, you got your four and five iron being the ZXI fives, which, uh, those things are
00:50shooting up at the moon, but, uh, just kind of talk about that iron play.
00:54So yeah, so iron play, it really has changed a lot.
00:57Um, that's kind of the main thing that we, we tackled when, when I started working with
01:01Tillery.
01:02Um, yeah, we, I had a, I was, I was decent ball striker.
01:07I could flush it.
01:08I could hit it really good and it was pretty, but, um, off speed was always struggle for
01:13me.
01:13Um, and I had kind of a very heely pattern.
01:17So I'd get my right heel, uh, in my back swing pretty quick.
01:19And then on the way through, I'd get my left heel and kind of spun out a little bit instead
01:23of, uh, rotational.
01:25And, uh, yeah, we've basically been trying to reverse that pattern a little bit, just
01:30be a little more, I guess, effectively a little more centered in my, uh, in my, uh, weight
01:34distribution, um, from heel to toe.
01:37And, um, so you try to feel like, like you're, you're not to interrupt you, but like, so when
01:42you say like too much in your heel and then too much in your heel.
01:45So when you're turning, are you trying to feel like your foot is flat on the ground, meaning
01:51like not too much pressure in your, or your heel or toe on, on both sides of the swing?
01:56Yeah.
01:56So in order to kind of neutralize the pressure, I, I have, I already neutralized the, the mass,
02:03I guess I put a lot more pressure, I would say, I feel like my right foot on my back
02:07swing
02:07is sliding towards the ball and putting pressure in towards the ball.
02:11Um, and then there's the reverse on the, on the downswing.
02:14It's my right foot's kind of moving backwards with the pressure.
02:17And then my left foot is pushing forward towards the ball and it's helped me kind of turn, uh,
02:23into my left side.
02:24So that's kind of the, I guess the, the general thought on, on which, which way that pressure
02:29is moving for me.
02:30Okay.
02:30That makes sense.
02:31And to, uh, your wedge play as well, you know, that's something that I find, uh, when
02:37I look at your stats too, that that is something that is greatly improved.
02:40Would you credit all of this to just the work that you and JT to have done with technique
02:45and then just wearing out, uh, the track man working on numbers?
02:49Yeah, for sure.
02:50I mean, it's been, like you said, it's nothing.
02:51We never made any like wholesale crazy swing changes.
02:54Um, that was always my first thing when I went to him because ball striking was the reason
02:58I was even on the PGA tour.
03:00So I was like, I don't want to do anything crazy here.
03:02I don't want to have a different golf swing in a month than I do now.
03:06Like, let's just, uh, and he's so process oriented anyway.
03:09So he's come up with a plan for me over the last few years that we always tweak.
03:13And, uh, it's a lot of gym work, a lot of, uh, drills in the gym, drills on the range,
03:18small stuff every day to kind of make sure my pattern is feed feeding the right, uh, that
03:23I'm feeding the right pattern, not the wrong pattern essentially.
03:26And, uh, yeah, that's just completely changed, uh, changed my golf game.
03:30And then from there, uh, hammering those wedge combines and strokes game games on the track,
03:35man, it's been, it's been huge for me.
03:37And then from there, uh, uh, yeah.
