00:00The challenger job cuts numbers are just out. Now, these don't all happen, but they do give us an indication
00:06of what the corporate offices are thinking.
00:09And we see 60,620 job cuts announced in the month of March. Now, that is down 78 percent from
00:16the same month a year ago.
00:18However, if you look industry by industry, technology getting whacked. 18,720 jobs announced to be cut in March, a
00:28total of 52,050 for the year so far.
00:33The next biggest is pharmaceutical, and that's only 6,348 for the year so far.
00:40Manufacturing jobs continue to go away. But if you want a job that doesn't seem to be threatened at the
00:46moment, become a lawyer.
00:47The legal industry, no job cuts in March, none announced year to date, which is kind of interesting because everybody
00:54says AI is going to get rid of a lot of people in the legal industry.
00:58Seems to be doing much more to those who are creating AI than to those who are going to be
01:03using it.
