00:00This is Stefan Bondi from Houston, Texas, where the Knicks last night put up another clunker in a defeat to
00:06the Rockets.
00:07It was their third straight defeat overall and fifth straight against a winning team.
00:12It's been almost a month since the Knicks have beat a winning team.
00:16And this was just more of the same in Houston in terms of poor offense, poor defense.
00:21It was ugly from the beginning.
00:23They were down double digits almost immediately.
00:26And, yeah, they did recover at times, but it never really looked like they could win this game, to be
00:31honest.
00:32The offense was stuck in the mud.
00:34And that's kind of what happens when you face an intense defense with a lot of athletes, a lot of
00:41length.
00:42Emea Doka wants to go blitz Jalen Brunson.
00:45He did that successfully.
00:47Jalen Brunson had a very frustrating night.
00:50Karl-Anthony Towns wasn't much better.
00:52They tried to feed him more in this game, and it didn't produce positive results.
00:58You could see he was frustrated.
01:00He left the post-game locker room without talking to the media.
01:04That's a rarity for him.
01:06And, you know, talking to the guys afterwards, obviously there was a lot of concern in that locker room about
01:11the way that the Knicks are playing,
01:13the downward trend that they're on right now.
01:18Josh Hart called the Knicks game in Memphis, which is today, on a back-to-back a must-win.
01:24I think that's the first time anybody on the Knicks has characterized any game as a must-win.
01:28Now, listen, the Knicks should absolutely beat the Memphis Grizzlies.
01:31The Memphis Grizzlies are injury-ravaged, and they're trying to lose.
01:35So this is beyond just a must-win.
01:38It is aâit's an easy win.
01:41And so, yeah, the Knicks should come out of Memphis today with a victory,
01:45but that's not going to mask some of the problems that they've had against better opponents.
01:49And the Knicks do need to clean that up.
01:53You know, there's not that much time left.
01:54So, obviously, a lot of concerns abound.
01:58One thing that did happen in the Houston game,
02:01Miles McBride did return from his re-aggravation of his sports hernia surgery problem,
02:08which happened in OKC.
02:10Actually, you know, when that injury happened,
02:13obviously people were very concerned that it was going to be worse.
02:17But when we talked to him afterwards in the locker room afterâin Houston,
02:22he said it was just scar tissue breaking down.
02:25And it's going to be painful.
02:27He doesn't know when that pain is going to subside,
02:30but he's going to play through it.
02:32The problem right now, more so right now with him, is his rhythm.
02:36He hasâI think since he's returned, he shot one for 12.
02:41And in the Houston game, he was missing open looks.
02:44That was another concern in the Houston game.
02:46They were just missing their open three-pointers
02:48because when the Rockets were throwing two at Jalen Brunson,
02:51they were able to generate open looks on three-pointers,
02:55but the Knicks couldn't knock them down.
02:57So, you know, big game today in Memphis
03:01only because they need to suppress this terrible feelings,
03:06these terrible feelings, this losing streak.
03:08They need some positive energy.
03:12And Josh Hart called it a must-win.
03:13And so, you know, leaving Houston now, headed to Memphis,
03:16where the Knicks have a pretty big one
03:20considering the circumstances.
03:21And so, you know, we're going to have a pretty big one
03:24and we're going to have a pretty big one
03:24and we're going to have a pretty big one
03:24and we're going to have a pretty big one
03:25and we're going to have a pretty big one
03:26and we're going to have a pretty big one
