00:00OK, let's talk a bit more about diplomacy.
00:02And I'd like to refer to some of the comments that have been made by President Trump in the last
00:0624 hours.
00:07He's been saying to some traditional allies, notably the UK and France,
00:11they've been unhelpful, telling them to get their own oil from the Strait of Hormuz
00:15and saying that the US won't be there for them because they weren't there for us.
00:21Is there a widespread sense in Washington that America's traditional allies and its NATO allies have somehow let you down?
00:29Well, some haven't, some haven't.
00:31I do give credit to the NATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte.
00:34Last week, last weekend, they announced 22 countries had come together, many NATO allies,
00:41together with Japan, South Korea and Australia to sign an agreement to work with us to open the Strait of
00:52Hormuz.
00:52I give the I give the Secretary General a lot of credit and he's he has proven to be a
00:57very good ally.
00:58And Japan has committed naval assets.
01:01And I got to believe that's their mind sweeping capability, probably some of the best mind sweeping technology in the
01:07world.
01:07And before you can have escorts of vessels going through the Strait of Hormuz,
01:12you got to be sure that there aren't mines there.
01:15And so they're going to have to have a mine clearing operation, not only for the mines that are there,
01:20but I'm also concerned of what Iran could do until that time occurs.
01:26I think the United States did do the right thing about a week ago when we began taking out various
01:33fixed missile sites
01:34all along the coastline of the Strait of Hormuz.
01:37So the groundwork has been laid.
01:39The president has the options.
