American journalist Shelly Kittleson, longtime Middle East correspondent for Al-Monitor and other outlets, was kidnapped in central Baghdad on Tuesday evening. She was taken by unknown individuals in a two-car convoy. Iraqi security forces launched a rapid operation, arresting one suspect after a vehicle crash.
