00:04Lana's home state of Minnesota, there is a bill that is now being looked at from the Minnesota
00:09House of Representatives, and they had a committee meeting, and legislators are considering
00:14the grandparents happy hour bill.
00:18Grandparents?
00:19So what is this?
00:20This bill would allow group homes to serve alcohol to their residents and guests.
00:26Yes!
00:27Oh my gosh, this is awesome.
00:29I can't wait to retire.
00:32So they actually had one woman, her name is Anita LeBrun, and she basically went and talked
00:42about what she thought would be appropriate, because she is a resident at one of these homes,
00:46and she's like, this needs to happen.
00:49Yeah, it does.
00:50We deserve to have this.
00:51Yes, they do.
00:52Here we go.
00:53My friends and I love happy hour, just like many of you do, I am sure.
00:57Just because we are older and live in an assisted living doesn't mean that we should have fewer
01:04freedoms than anyone else.
01:06Allowing our facility to coordinate this happy hour affords us and our families the peace of
01:12mind that we can enjoy life but not be out slipping on the ice to stop and get our locks
01:19of wine.
01:19This amendment is simply putting into law what many people assume is already allowed, happy
01:27hour at the place where we call home.
01:29There you go.
01:30I love it.
