00:00Parents and relatives waited eagerly for the arrival of a group of toddlers in the Gaza Strip on Monday.
00:07The children had been evacuated from the war-torn zone as premature infants.
00:13The families welcomed their sons and daughters in canyones with joy.
00:18Our feelings are indescribable. This is the most important moment in our lives, especially since she is my first daughter.
00:24But our feelings are mixed with pain because of the difficult reality we live in, with an uncertain future.
00:30We hope that the future of our children will not be filled with the tragedy or suffering they faced at
00:34the beginning of their lives.
00:36The children were evacuated from Schieffer Hospital's neonatal intensive care unit in 2023.
00:43After years of wait, some parents were meeting their children properly for the first time.
00:50I gave birth to him on October 31st. I was eight months pregnant and the pain started.
00:57I went to Al-Hilou Hospital, where his condition was critical.
01:02They had to deliver him in the eighth month by a caesarean section.
01:06I didn't see him.
01:08They took him from Al-Hilou Hospital to the neonatal intensive care unit at Al-Shifa Hospital.
01:16And I haven't seen him since.
01:23The children were eventually evacuated to Egypt after Israeli forces closed in on the hospital.
01:29But not all of them survived the dangerous journey.
01:35Unfortunately, some of them were lost, about four babies in Egypt.
01:39Today, ten children returned in good health.
01:43They were reunited with their families in a difficult and emotional moment, filled with many messages, sadness, and the joy
01:51of being reunited with their loved ones.
01:55For families and medical personnel alike, the children's return was a bittersweet moment.
