The Northumberland Line welcomes passengers and their Bedlington terriers after months of delays. Owners of the first 25 Bedlington terriers to travel on the line receive free transport across the Northern network.

00:08The first 25 Bedlington Terriers arriving at the station on Monday between 10 in the
00:13morning and 12 in the afternoon earned their owners a free travel pass valid on any Northern
00:19service for journeys with up to two adults and two children.
00:22The Terriers, originally bred to hunt rats in local coal mines, share the town's name.
00:27Northern says Bedlington played a historic role in railway engineering.
00:31The station was the last of four to reopen, delayed by ageing stonework and a water pipe,
00:37before finally opening on Sunday after extra funding ensured completion.
