00:43The activity formed part of a national campaign that has lasted at least 45 years.
00:53And thanks to the reforestation policies and the active participation of the society, China has planted around 4.5 million
01:03hectares of forest, increasing its forest coverage to more than 25% of the territory.
01:11Projects such as the Great Green Wall have stopped the expansion of deserts in the north of the country and
01:20transformed degraded lands into productive zones that directly benefit the population.
01:27This year, the initiative takes on special significance as part of the 15 five-year plan that goes to 2026
01:39to 2030 and coincide with the adoption of a new environment code, which strengthen the legal basis for advancing a
01:50more sustainable development model.
