Across the states for the end of March and into April, expect sunshine and seasonal temperatures, with a touch of morning fog possible in Victoria before a warm climb. Tasmania will enjoy bright, sunny, and warm conditions, while South Australia braces for windy weather and elevated fire danger, especially near the Mount Lofty Ranges. Perth and WA's coastlines will see a few light showers, with cooler temperatures due to southerly winds. Northern Australia is experiencing a drier end to the wet season, with Darwin and Katherine expecting mostly clear days, though eastern parts of the Top End might see some wet weather.

00:00Hello, I'm Angus. Thanks for joining me for the National Weather Forecast.
00:03We'll check out the weather across Australia for tomorrow the 31st of March, the last day of March,
00:09and it will be a fairly settled and clear picture across most of Australia.
00:14Now there are a few areas we're keeping our eye on for potential rainfall on Tuesday,
00:18including Queensland's north tropical coast where we could see some heavy showers and thunderstorms,
00:22and a little further down the coast, probably no heavy showers,
00:25but a little rainfall for the Queensland-New South Wales border area.
00:28Then inland, we've got this cold front here, which could have a few punchy thunderstorms
00:33across the Western Australia-South Australia border, mostly over outback areas.
00:39Let's fly around the states now, starting in the northeast for Queensland,
00:42and we certainly could see some heavy showers north of Townsville,
00:45around that Cairns to Cardwell area with some thunderstorms in the mix.
00:49Then quite a bright day along the coast from Townsville down to Bundaberg,
00:53but south of Bundaberg we have got a few light showers,
00:56maybe 5 to 10 millimetres, unlikely to get more than that,
00:59but it could be a little damp at times through Brisbane.
01:02All other areas are bright and sunny through the south and the west of the state,
01:06with near seasonal temperatures.
01:08A few showers are also anticipated in the far northeast of New South Wales,
01:12really around the Coffs Harbour-Yamba area, up through Byron Bay,
01:15and Tweed Heads, with no significant rain expected to accumulate.
01:19And I've started with that because we probably will struggle to find another drop of rain anywhere in this state.
01:25Bright sunny skies for central and southern parts of the east coast,
01:29from Maitland through Newcastle, Sydney and Wollongong,
01:31with seasonal temperatures in the mid-20s.
01:33It's a bright day for Canberra and others in the mountains and Tablelands, 25 degrees there,
01:38and we've got sunshine our west with temperatures pushing low 30s.
01:42A touch of fog possible in the morning in Victoria,
01:45and that's really the only thing that would come between clear blue skies and the entire day.
01:51All the rest of the weather will be bright and sunny right across the state,
01:54and with a northerly breeze, the temperatures are really climbing as well.
01:58A bit of late warmth before we head deeper into autumn,
02:0128 for Melbourne, with most places being between 26 and 31.
02:06Also a really sunny, bright and warm day for Tasmania.
02:09A little cloud around, but a lot of sunshine around too.
02:11Temperatures will range from 21 across the north coast,
02:14down to about 27 or 28 here in the south, with moderate northerly wind.
02:20A bright day, but a bit of a blustery day for parts of South Australia,
02:24and the sunny, warm and windy conditions will lead to elevated fire danger,
02:28including a rating for extreme fire danger near the Mount Lofty Ranges,
02:32not too far away from Adelaide.
02:34Most of the state will have bright sunny weather,
02:37but we'll see this band of rain and storms move into the Nullarbor and Ceduna
02:40through the course of the morning, and in the evening that could affect parts of the EP,
02:44the Eyre Peninsula.
02:46It may then go on to impact some other areas overnight as we move into Wednesday morning,
02:50but that will not be a factor for Tuesday's weather.
02:54A couple of showers possible for both western and southern coastlines in WA.
02:58Caught up in a southwest wind, keeping a bit of a cap on the temperatures as well,
03:02mostly around the low 20s, and that includes for Perth.
03:04Certainly won't be heavy rainfall there,
03:06but just a few light spits and spots as you head about your day.
03:10The southerly winds actually do push quite far up the west coast,
03:14leading to below average temperatures around Carnarvon and Exmouth,
03:17but it will be sunny skies for those areas,
03:19recently impacted by tropical cyclone Nurel.
03:23And it certainly does start to feel like we're at the tail end of the wet season now.
03:27The showers and thunderstorms are becoming much less common
03:29across northern parts of the country this week,
03:32a lot drier than it's been for quite some time.
03:35That should have been a nice bright day around Darwin,
03:37just a low shower risk there.
03:38Same thing for Catherine.
03:39We do see elevated risk of some wet weather through eastern parts of the top end
03:43around Nullumboy, Arnhem Land, and out towards the Gulf of Carpentaria coastline.
03:47Other spots on this map, Tennant Creek down to Uluru,
03:49and then across through the Kimberley and the Pilbara should have a bright sunny day.
03:54That is all I have this time around.
03:56I will be back tomorrow with the next update.
03:58In the meantime, weather information is always available
04:00on the Bureau's website and the BOM weather app.
04:03Thanks for watching.
04:04Have a great day.
