00:17Welcome to Mojo Plays, and today we're dropping by Jinjo and saying ciao to Renesita as we
00:22look over some of the best moments to come out of Wuthering Waves so far. Spoilers ahead!
00:30Someone kept this from me, didn't I?
00:36Before we continue, be sure to subscribe to our channel and ring the bell to get notified about
00:41our latest videos. Meeting Zanni. We've been expecting you. Welcome to Averardo Bank, sir.
00:52I'm Zanni, a staff member here. The Montelli family ordered me to welcome you.
00:57For those of you wondering how this could possibly count as epic, then you don't deserve Zanni.
01:03Everything about this overworked bank employee of the Montelli family practically broke the internet
01:08upon her reveal, which was only doubled down on during her introductory cutscene. Epic design,
01:14epic accent, epic proportions, epic companion. Zanni wasn't only the perfect tour guide, but the
01:20perfect foil as we dove deeper into the Order's corruption. Her banner cannot get here soon enough.
01:26If that's what you want.
01:32Thank you. All that formality was starting to feel like exercise.
01:48The companion quest lines across the board all have riveting scenes to their names,
01:53though having to meander through the mind of a certain murderous flower girl took the cake.
01:58Suffering under the weight of amnesia, overclocking on her own particular brand of bloodlust,
02:03witnessing Camellia confront her sadistic alter ego made for quite the mind trip. Beautifully balanced
02:09by her realisation that no matter the reality, she would always find herself pining after her precious rover.
02:15But one constant remained. You always saved me, and we always found each other.
02:25Dreamless.
02:27That's another moon. What on earth is happening?
02:31For as many issues as the base game had in terms of pace and storytelling, it ended its first arc
02:36with
02:36one hell of a bang. Alongside Ji-Yun, Rover takes on the might of the Dreamless, a tacit discord with
02:42strength to spare, ready to usher in a fresh lament unless it's stopped in its tracks.
02:47The battle itself is frantic, with the highlights easily being when Rover goes full one-winged angel
02:52and awakens their havoc form. Oh, and the introduction to everyone's favourite Echo, of course.
02:58As the conceptualisation of war, somehow it opted to flee instead of fighting us properly.
03:05Jin-shi ascends.
03:06If I open it, Jin-shi is bound to face you in the ultimate battle. The ideal outcome would be
03:17for
03:17her to absorb your power at the critical moment, and restore the time flow without any loss of life.
03:24Climbing Mount Firmament proved to be quite a challenge for Rover and Company,
03:28namely because of the colossal dragon waiting at the peak. The prophesised battle between the sentinel
03:33Jue and Jin-shi was a long time coming, the latter having to prove her worth in order to one
03:38day
03:38serve as its replacement. This all leads to a staggeringly beautiful showdown, in which we
03:43get to play as Jin-shi herself, doing her darndest to take on Jue's time-warping might all by her
03:48lonesome. And while she's unable to bring down her scaly parental figure, she does indeed prove
03:53herself worthy of taking its place.
03:55Jin-shi, one shall honour what's lost, and restore Jin-jo's future to you and its people.
04:06The Confession
04:08You made me realise that protecting the Black Shores isn't my only duty.
04:17Because there is more to life than duty.
04:21Following a link to their unknown past, Rover is brought to the headquarters of the Black Shores,
04:26as well as their ephemeral leader known as the Shorekeeper. Alas, there's no time to talk about
04:31the good old days on account of the Tether system, the supercomputer that helps the Black Shores fight
04:35the Lament, going haywire. In order to ensure the system's survival, the Shorekeeper willingly allows
04:41themselves to become its new core, dooming her to pseudo-death. Though not before she confesses
04:46how she had learned to love Rover in the distant past, and still does to this day.
04:51And just like that, everyone was willing to go nuclear to save her.
04:55No matter how far you go, I will always be here, watching over you.
05:09The Dragon of Dirge
05:18Jue isn't the only dragon roaming the world, and while it may be smaller in scale,
05:22the Dragon of Dirge makes up for it by upping the intimidation factor tenfold,
05:26as well as having a soundtrack to its name that would make Elden Ring blush.
05:37Used by the Order of the Deep to kill off those who they deem as an enemy to their faith,
05:41battling the beast is no easy task. Summoning bone spikes and breathing golden flames,
05:46it all makes for a thrilling clash that once again proved why Renesita's arc truly is peak.
06:03The Dance
06:04As the world teetered on the brink of absolute darkness, they found solace in each other's gaze.
06:16While there is fierce competition among Wuwa's towering cast of lethal ladies,
06:21Carlotta is something special. Not only for her character, gameplay, voice acting and personal
06:26stakes in the story, but also her relationship with Rover. Something that was solidified during
06:31their dance scenes. While things could be construed as spicy during the rehearsal,
06:35both sparks and bullets fly as the partners in crime blasted their way through foes in perfect sync.
06:41There's not even room for a shipping war by this point.
07:01It truly is astounding how everything across this game was elevated with the introduction of Renesita,
07:07especially in the case of both its bosses and music. Which becomes blatantly evident with the
07:13spectacular boss fight. Corrupted by the Fraxodus to serve the Order's interest,
07:17Lorelai is not only stunning in presentation, but her soundtrack is downright mesmerizing.
07:31Taking inspiration and aspects from Mozart's The Magic Flute, specifically the Queen of the Night
07:36Aria, the music turns the entire ordeal into a spectacle that no player will be quick to forget.
07:52Carlotta pops off.
07:56Keep it safe. I'll handle the rest.
08:00There can be no denying just how much of a standout character this executor of an heiress is.
08:05When she's not playing her enemies for fools or making Rover 4 for her, she's busting out
08:10crystalline rifles and raining hell down on any who would cross her path. Like here,
08:15when the Order and their Echoes attack following the defeat of Lorelai.
08:19Demonstrating both her acrobatic and gunslinging skills,
08:22Carlotta doesn't waste her breath wiping out all of them by her lonesome.
08:25And it is amazing to watch unfold.
08:32Speak. Who gave you the Order?
08:35Saving the Shorekeeper.
08:37Admin access nullified. Request denied.
08:43The Shorekeeper is now the core computational unit.
08:46After such a heartfelt confession, there was no way we were about to let the Shorekeeper perish.
08:52Rover obviously felt the same way, taking on the Tethes system itself and overcoming
08:56gauntlets of enemies in succession. Even channeling their inner Uncharted at one point
09:01by wall running and grappling through every virtual reality tossed their way.
09:05This all culminates in Rover battling against the clock to free the Shorekeeper from being assimilated.
09:09Saving her life at the last second before reaffirming how much her life is worth.
09:14With their final interaction being the tear-jerking cherry on top.
09:17What a way to end an arc.
09:19Wherever your path leads, I hope to walk it with you.
