00:00McConnell, Siakam, 18 in the first half. They had great balance.
00:03I think that's what's important. That's the way the Pacers want to play.
00:06Now you see it a little bit here late in the season, but it's still good to see.
00:1179 points. Pacers plus four.
00:17Pointing themselves on this Sunday afternoon at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
00:2079-75 Pacers alongside Quinn Buckner.
00:24I'm Chris Denary. Moments ago, Jeremiah Johnson.
00:26On the Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance sideline, a chance to visit
00:29the Pacers' assistant coach, Lloyd Pierce.
00:36Lloyd, different starting lineup, a lot of different rotations,
00:39but the offensive execution was excellent.
00:41What did you notice on that end of the floor?
00:43I thought our ball movement was great.
00:44Pointing assists and a half is obviously a good thing.
00:47And then Micah turning to Micah Jordan in the first half.
00:50But it's good.
00:51If we know where the shots are coming from and we do against this defense
00:54and our guys are shot ready, we'll take those shots.
00:56With no Norman Powell, extra shots for Tyler Hero.
00:59How do you devise some defensive adjustments?
01:01They have a great team.
01:02They've got a bunch of guys that can create off the dribble.
01:0438 points in the paint for them in the first half is too much.
01:07We've got to do a better job of guarding the yard
01:09and then making other guys have to make play,
01:11but specifically on the perimeter.
01:13Thanks, J.J., as we hear from Coach Pearson.
01:17We'll look at, as usual, scoring leaders.
01:22And we had some pretty big numbers, Quinn.
01:24Micah Potter, that's the most points in a half in his career.
01:29And surprisingly, I had to look back,
01:30he had 17 in the first half earlier this year against Philadelphia.
01:34So he has 19.
01:36Pascal Siakam had 17 of his 18 in the second quarter.
01:40That's the second most he's had this year.
01:43He had a 20-point quarter.
01:44And then there's Tyler Hero, 23 first-half points.
01:48That's the second most in his career.
01:51So there were plenty of offensive numbers in that first half.
02:00And the thing, I think, that you heard Coach Pierce talk about
02:03was the 20 assists.
02:04So the ball movement is why you have those numbers
02:07in terms of scoring and everything else
02:10because you're able to find people.
02:11Oh, go from one side to the other and cue.
02:17And again, for just joining us,
02:19it's the Pacers, their 42nd different starting lineup.
02:22They're without Jairus Walker and Aaron Neesmith.
02:24And that's going to hang on the rim and fall for Davion Mitchell.
02:28So strong, I'm telling you, he blew right through.
02:30Quentin had him for a step,
02:32and then he blew right through the defensive structure there.
02:35Micah Potter is getting the start here to start the second half.
02:39That's a long three.
02:40Missed it from the corner by Nembhard.
02:42And now Miami has a chance to tie or take the lead.
02:44It keeps Siakam from having to guard Bam out of bio.
02:50He's now got Wiggins.
02:51Yeah, he's got, it's a much more natural fit for him.
02:55Shot clock at seven.
02:57Mitchell gets all the way to the basket, kicks it out.
03:00Out of bio for three, no good.
03:01Chased down by Jalen Slauson,
03:04who got the start, his third of his NBA career.
03:07Excuse me a second.
03:07Let's give some credit there defensively to Quinn Jackson
03:10because he shut down what they were trying to get done with Mitchell.
03:15Ducking.
03:16He couldn't move.
03:17He tried to duck, put his chest into, out of bio.
03:21He couldn't move it.
03:22That's too strong.
03:23Rebound by Hero.
03:24The Pacers shot a season high, 68% the first half.
03:28That's the best in any half this year.
03:31And the fifth time they've shot better than 60% and a half.
03:37That's going to be a foul on Slauson.
03:41And that's his second.
03:43It's the first against the Pacers here in the quarter.
03:47Miami starts its lineup from the first half here to start the second.
03:52Mitchell, Larson, Adebayo, Hero, Wiggins.
03:56That's been their best starting lineup this year.
03:59That's off the mark.
04:00Rebound Slauson.
04:03They're 39 and 35, currently ninth in the East,
04:07trying to get into the playoffs for a seventh straight year.
04:10Oh, spinning.
04:11Siakam got his defender in the air, blocked from behind by Wiggins.
04:21Austin has the current longest playoff streak.
04:25Milwaukee eliminated.
04:27They had a long playoff streak.
04:35And it's going to go all the way to the backcourt.
04:41And that's going to be a Pacers turnover.
04:48Pacers started the game with a number of turnovers.
04:50Pacers, in fact, hit just two of their first six from the field,
04:53ended 13 of 19 in the first quarter.
04:59And the Heat have a chance to tie or take the lead.
05:04Mitchell head down.
05:07Wiggins.
05:11He's in double figures with 10.
05:15When you think about the Heat over the years, you think about defense,
05:18but they're the number two scoring team in the league this year.
05:21As I said earlier, they change what they're doing.
05:24They're really a one-on-one team.
05:27That is what they've decided to do because all the teams were going to the pick and roll
05:30and they decided they didn't want to do that.
05:34Adebayo's short.
05:35He goes over the top.
05:37And it's on Potter.
05:38Oh, that's a tough one on Potter.
05:42He's third.
05:44That's his third.
05:46But this is what you got when you got a guy like Adebayo.
05:49This is why they put Potter in the game.
05:51That could have very well have been Siakam.
05:53And they didn't want Siakam, rightfully, you don't want him in that position.
05:58So now they just made the change.
05:59So you bring Brown in.
06:01Potter having picked up his third, you end up with Siakam on Adebayo.
06:05They may go to him in the post.
06:09Pacers led by as many as 10 in the first half.
06:11As Larson scores.
06:13Yeah, but this is exactly what I was talking about.
06:15Adebayo put a body on Siakam.
06:16That's the only reason that you're able to get Larson to the basket.
06:20Because it's a mismatch in terms of strength.
06:23Seven straight Miami points.
06:29Offense has been tough here to start.
06:31Yeah, third quarter.
06:32You talked about what this team is.
06:34This team is playing the defense that we've seen them play historically.
06:38Nembhard with a second chance.
06:41Tied at 84.
06:43Pacers also made a season-high 13 first-half threes.
06:48Yeah, but see, this is the adjustment.
06:49They missed the shot.
06:52But this is the way they were coming back at it.
06:54And Wiggins ended up fouling Slauson, who did a solid job defensively.
06:58But that's what's different.
06:59They really guard you defensively and push it up on the other end.
07:06Pacers and Heat tied at 84-820 to play here in the third.
07:10Final game of a three-game homestand.
07:13Pacers on the road next week.
07:15Chicago, Charlotte, and Cleveland.
07:19And one of the most impressive teams of the year, Quinn, you'd have to say, Charlotte.
07:23Yeah.
07:24I watched them play Philadelphia.
07:25They ended up losing to Philadelphia, but they were good last night.
07:28I mean, and one of the reasons the Mellow Ball has really started to slow down.
07:36You can talk about Khan Kanepa, and I think that's been good.
07:39Nice on the inside with bridges.
07:41But they really started to find what they needed to do in terms of taking their time offensively.
07:46In the middle of that zone, Siakam is too strong.
07:52This is a big 48 hours for the Heat because this is the front end of a back-to-back.
07:57They have Philadelphia at home tomorrow.
08:00Wiggins saves it.
08:01Hero for three, and he hits.
08:05Second chance opportunity for Tyler Hero.
08:09Is this a—does nobody call timeout?
08:12No, nobody call timeout.
08:14Yeah, Rick was being adamant about it because he felt there was a call that should have been made
08:20and walked toward the officials, but he didn't—he never asked for timeout.
08:25Tyler Hero, four of ten from three-point range, ten of 16 on the night.
08:29He's got 26.
08:31His season high is 33.
08:35They've gone back to their zone.
08:37In the middle, Siakam with a left hand.
08:40Nice job getting the body on.
08:45Mitchell knocked away.
08:48And it will stay with Miami.
08:51Slauson did a really good job coming off and protecting with Larson
08:54because all of a sudden that ball is coming at you pretty quick.
08:57See, Quinn is coming, and you see Slauson come from that side,
08:59and he does a really good job getting his hands in there.
09:03Otherwise, they'd had a wide-open shot.
09:09Wiggins on the baseline.
09:10Now Adebayo.
09:16Now they do run the pick-and-roll.
09:19Hero for three, and that's another one.
09:21That's because he's feeling—he started feeling good in the first half.
09:24Yeah, because he was less than hero can be in the Cleveland game.
09:31Yeah, a game that they trailed by as many as 35 on Friday night.
09:36Jackson in the lane, and Quinton Jackson got it.
09:41He's in double figures with ten.
09:4690-88, Wiggins.
09:48The Heat have a two-point lead.
09:50Don't wait on anybody to set a screen because they're not looking to do that.
09:54That short rebound, Jackson.
09:56Oh, they're going to call a foul on Jackson.
10:01Or are they?
10:01It's on Larson.
10:03They call it on Larson.
10:07He got a pretty good rebound.
10:09He got cracked in the face and got called for the foul.
10:14If they call that, I think—
10:17I wouldn't be surprised if they don't want to look at this on the other side.
10:24Andrew Demhart, 7.7 assists.
10:27He's had three straight double-figure assists, and it's a two-point Miami lead.
10:31A look for our FanDuel same-game parlay.
10:34Total parlay us plus 234.
10:36Third-quarter spread.
10:37Pacers plus 7.5, minus 120.
10:40Third-quarter total points over 58.5, minus 102.
10:47First time he's out of the record.
10:50We're up in the state of Wisconsin.
10:52AAU teammates at one point with Tyler Hero.
10:59And Demhart into the front court with Jackson topping for the first time.
11:03Potter's come back in, and Kobe Brown.
11:07Potter had that big first half.
11:08He had 19.
11:09He had 14 in the first quarter.
11:11In the post, he catches, and he turns out of a double, and he got it.
11:19He took his time for sure to get that in the basket, but they've gone to a smaller lineup with
11:25him.
11:25They're more worried about him being active on the perimeter.
11:29Hero.
11:31Free throw line out to Mitchell.
11:34Hero.
11:34Put a hand up.
11:36They're telling him to keep that hand up.
11:39And he wants it in.
11:42That's a pretty good job.
11:43I mean, when he first came to the league, he couldn't do that and be that effective.
11:47That's Hero.
11:48Well, that's the thing.
11:49He's made so many plays.
11:50You've got to honor that, right?
11:51No question.
11:55Demhart out of a double.
11:56Yeah, well, there's three people in there corner.
11:58You can't go anywhere.
12:00Here's a step-back jumper, and Demhart got it.
12:03And his whole intent is to make Hero have to guard someone.
12:06This hero has been worried only about his offense.
12:11And now Adebayo has it right at Potter.
12:14Potter challenges, but Adebayo got it.
12:19He just powered it.
12:24Now to the post.
12:25Now Kobe Brown against Marson.
12:27And he could not get the role, and that goes out of bounds.
12:31I was hoping Tyler Ford saw it.
12:34I wasn't sure if you saw it either, but here it was just an opportunity to go a little bit
12:39one-on-one.
12:39And you've got to make Hero play some defense, so he's not feeling so comfortable with just his offense.
12:45And that's what Andrew Nemhart was trying to get accomplished.
12:47And now Nemhart and T.J. McConnell have played together.
12:50They did in the first half.
12:52McConnell in his eight minutes had 11 points and five assists.
12:56It was four or five from the field, two or two from three.
12:59Watch it. Watch it. Watch it.
13:00You heard Lloyd Pierce say the Pacers had 20 assists.
13:04Oh, the alley-oop to Toppin.
13:09Tied at 94.
13:13Pacers had 24 assists, 20 in the first half.
13:20Tied of defense there.
13:24Oh, that's a great defense.
13:25That is really good defense on Bam Adebayo.
13:28Had no clear path to the basket.
13:31Nemhart.
13:33Reload.
13:34Three.
13:34In and out.
13:35No good.
13:37Who had a great look at it.
13:38Pacers the other way.
13:42Missed it.
13:43And the Pacers escape.
13:45What a good job by Nemhart to get back.
13:49Nemhart.
13:51And they're going to pull an offensive foul.
13:55Read where the opportunity is on the floor.
13:57Backside, that's where you want to watch.
13:59You see right there, nobody picking him up.
14:02Obi Toppin.
14:03You throw it at the rim, he'll go get it.
14:07Obi Toppin has eight points.
14:10Again, coming in, six of his last eight, ten or more points.
14:13He has 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists.
14:16And the one-point loss Friday night to the Clippers.
14:27That's the fourth team foul against the Pacers in the corner.
14:31That's a hook.
14:33And I guess what the bench was saying, right?
14:35Yeah, and the official couldn't see it.
14:39You see, he's got the arm.
14:41Yeah, Brown's arm is locked in there.
14:44I'm glad he's getting on the floor.
14:47But Jay Huff, for the first time, has played in every game this season.
14:51That's not why I'm glad.
14:52I'm glad because he had a tough time.
14:53I'm sorry.
14:54I mean, I don't need to diminish what you're saying.
14:55Yeah.
14:56He had a tough time and missed the two foul shots.
14:59Had he made both, could have made a difference and or run the game.
15:02And he, and he, and he's getting, hey, get back on the horse.
15:05It may not be the exact same thing, but it'd be pretty close.
15:09And he just blocked out where there, so you get him back on the floor, get him in, you know,
15:13so he didn't, because he's a human being.
15:15Guys get lost to themselves sometimes.
15:19I'm out there with top and ground, and that's a foul, it's on Miami.
15:24Everybody deals with things differently, and so that had to be a tough moment for him.
15:30Yeah, and he's, he's a good-spirited man.
15:33I don't know that, his soft beard is not what I would say, because this could bother some, some of
15:37the harshest spirits.
15:38He just, he let his teammates down, and with that, he let himself down.
15:43But letting his teammates down is huge for Jett.
15:47Right there.
15:49Good read.
15:49Good read.
15:50That's it.
15:50He's got much better reading those opportunities for himself in the face.
15:54He's got much better reading those opportunities for himself in the face.
15:59We're for three.
16:00Yeah.
16:02Couldn't do that.
16:0338 percent, that's his 78th of the year.
16:06And the heat back in front by 1, 97-96.
16:14In the middle of that zone, top and two strong, rebound by Wiggins.
16:19Three minutes to play, quarter number three.
16:24Wiggins lines it up and hits.
16:27Back-to-back threes by Ware and Wiggins, and all of a sudden it's a full-point Miami lead.
16:34The way these two teams are scoring the ball, four points is nothing.
16:41Yeah, the Pacers had a 10-point lead.
16:43That evaporated pretty quick in the first half.
16:46Ground down the lane, pounds it down.
16:50He's got 12.
16:53He looks to be feeling much more comfortable in the offense and what the Pacers are doing.
16:58This is an area I think he's going to have to work out.
17:01He looks nearly over and back on the pass to Mitchell.
17:05Yeah, they just want to drive it to the basket.
17:07I think that's, they want to drive you until you cut them off, and when you cut them off,
17:11they'll pitch it to the next guy, and then he's supposed to do the same thing.
17:15Well, if he top-ed answers the other way.
17:17His sweet left.
17:19I tell you what, if you're not entertained watching this one, this has been some terrific offense.
17:24Brother, thank you.
17:25It depends on what you like as entertainment.
17:27The offense is what you want.
17:28There's plenty of that.
17:30Now the question is, do you get it?
17:32How much D are you going to get?
17:33How did that ball not go in for Hero?
17:39Skip pass, top and ground, catches the three, and the Pacers back in front.
17:46What I found interesting is the bench was high, and skip it, skip it over to Kobe.
17:50They got it to Kobe.
17:51Kobe got a three.
17:55We still have a quarter to play, 103-102 Indiana.
17:59Let's check in with JJ.
18:01Kobe Brown, three, forces the timeout, entering the game 43% from three since joining the Pacers.
18:07That's through 20 games.
18:09Shot 27% from three in parts of three seasons with the Clippers.
18:12I brought this up in his improvement.
18:14He said the team and the franchise has a good job of instilling confidence.
18:19He mentioned Coach Jenny, Jim, Coach Carlisle.
18:21He said his teammates, they all want me to shoot the ball.
18:23I'm just doing exactly what they want.
18:25He said, I always knew I could shoot it.
18:27He acknowledged the numbers the last few seasons were low,
18:30but that one of the biggest things he was hanging his hat on was shooting.
18:33So he knew he could do better, and I brought it up to him.
18:36I said, well, it's a lot easier when you get more opportunities.
18:38Just one shot a game can be tough.
18:40Now he's getting those looks, and they want him to let it fly, and he's doing that.
18:44Yeah, our Indiana workers.com.
18:47The look going daily.
18:48We go to work when you can.
18:50Going to work, Kobe Brown, nearly stolen by Toppin, and it went off his knee.
18:56Well, he had a dunk waiting to happen.
19:02As we come out of the timeout, McConnell, Toppin, Brown, Nembhard, Huff.
19:08Hero, Larson, Hock has, Yaka Chonis, and Ware.
19:13And with the basket is Larson.
19:16This sort of goes back and forth here, Gwynn, doesn't it?
19:19No, that's what you're talking about.
19:20You like offense.
19:21You're seeing plenty of it.
19:24Nembhard catches.
19:26No good.
19:26Rebound, Hero.
19:27One minute to play.
19:29Third quarter.
19:31The winner wins the season series.
19:33Both have won at home this year.
19:35Both have won by 20 or more at home.
19:38This is where he's at his best.
19:40Fortunately, he missed it.
19:42But Yaka gets in the paint.
19:43That's where he's at his best.
19:45And the pace is Kobe Brown.
19:46Did a terrific job guarding.
19:50Running down the lane with a left-hand Toppin.
19:54Got it from his good friend and teammate, TJ McConnell.
19:58But he's going to the basket.
19:59He's 16 and he comes with that left-hand.
20:01That's a problem.
20:04Nakachonas.
20:05And he hits a three.
20:08I think he was on that Illinois team last year.
20:10That's right.
20:11Those guys, they've got a nice mix, too.
20:15They're tough to play again.
20:18So two-point heat lead.
20:20I like that.
20:21I like what TJ just did.
20:23Kobe went to that.
20:24I'm not sure he recognized the time on the clock.
20:26It's only 9 on the shot.
20:27McConnell gets inside.
20:28Great down.
20:30Great down.
20:31Left-handed to that right corner.
20:35Two seconds.
20:37Jaquez missed it.
20:39And the Pacers had the lead after three.
20:43108-107 Pacers on FanDuel Sports Network.
20:51And 36 minutes, 14 lead changes, 10 ties.
20:57Pacers led by as many as 10 in the first half.
21:00They heat by as many as 8.
21:02But Quinn in that third quarter, nobody led by more than 4.
21:05Yeah, but I'm sure at halftime, what they talked about was the fact that
21:08clearly they're scoring going on.
21:10Everybody has to be much more effective, I believe, on both sides of the ball,
21:13on the defensive end.
21:15Our Menards game summary.
21:1810 ties, 14 lead changes.
21:19Hero with 31.
21:21The Pacers have 66 bench points.
21:24They had two players, Potter and McConnell,
21:26that were in double figures in the first quarter.
21:30Jay Huff drives the lane, kicks it out to Shepard, and he left it short.
21:35Good play by Huff.
21:37Shepard can make the shot, but, you know, he missed shots on occasion,
21:40but just make the right play.
21:42That's blocked by Huff.
21:45He's had a block down in 63 games.
21:50He's had a block down in 63 games, and he's had a block down in 63 games.
21:52He's had a block down in 63 games, and he's had a block down in 63 games.
21:54First turnover of the second half for Miami.
21:58They had six in the first.
22:01Great dive.
22:02Kobe's really got a game going.
22:05And he did a really nice job in being able to make that pass
22:08to go along with his 18 points.
22:10Yeah, Kobe Brownlee, 18 points, is a career high.
22:14You see, Ockham starts the fourth quarter against Wiggins, now out to Ware.
22:19Ware short, bound the rebound.
22:25Indiana has four players off the bench in double figures.
22:29Huff for three.
22:30Left it on the front edge of the rim.
22:32Huff.
22:37Watterson.
22:38She's a trouble on the mound.
22:39The rest hero, and Adebayo right now.
22:42Huff blocks it again.
22:44Pretty well defended there by Shep, so it was no clean shot.
22:46To allow Huff to get his hands on it.
22:49And here's Kobe Brown.
22:52That would have been a timeout, but I couldn't get back.
22:56Oh!
22:59Is there enough that Brown did there?
23:01Has that helped him miss it?
23:02Well, I'm sure there was some of that.
23:03I've seen Larson miss those before.
23:05I want to see the Brown.
23:06What a smart play, because he couldn't have had enough energy
23:09to really make a shot from the three-point line.
23:12So Brown passed it.
23:14Pacers just didn't make it.
23:15Now Wiggins, he goes inside again, slapped away.
23:19And it's Pacers' ball.
23:21TJ snapped it away.
23:24For the defense we've been wanting, we're starting to see.
23:30Pacers have started just one of five from the field after shooting 64% the third and better than 60
23:38% through three-quarters.
23:39But it's been the defense that has been strong here to start.
23:44Great five.
23:46Oh!
23:52Just couldn't quite get it over the front of the rim.
23:54It's almost like he was so wide open.
23:56Here's Ware.
23:57It's no good.
23:58Wiggins the rebound.
23:59He missed it.
24:01Wiggins!
24:01Give me that!
24:01By Brown!
24:03Nice job by Brown.
24:05He timed the first one.
24:06Couldn't get to the second one.
24:091-10, 1-09, Indiana 5-1.
24:17Now the Heat, a chance to take the lead.
24:20And they do on the Jaquez basket.
24:23First point, second half for Jaime Jaquez.
24:28Acer so good from the field through three-quarters, 64% of struggle here to start the field.
24:33Yeah, and you guys look a little windy.
24:38Little.
24:39Just a little bit.
24:42That's a really good kick out there by Jaime.
24:46Shepard for Indiana, 17-3.
24:51They win four straight games with 16 three-point field goals.
24:56That's too strong.
24:58Rebound Huff.
24:59There's some tired guys out there like this.
25:03Here's a drive and a basket by Siakam, and that brings a Miami timeout.
25:17115-111.
25:19Two lead changes in the quarter, 16 on the day.
25:23Our team Greenlaw injury report, Tyrese Hatterburton, Johnny Furby, Ivica Zubac out for the remainder of the year, of course.
25:31And Neesmith and Walker joined it.
25:33Neesmith with a neck injury.
25:35Walker had a hard fall on Friday night in the loss to the Clippers.
25:39Just the second time that Walker has missed a game this year.
25:43He missed a game earlier this year with the Pacers wanted to work against the Knicks with illness.
25:48Warson at the rim, rolls it in.
25:51He played through the contact of that one, because I thought Shep got into it, maybe grabbed him a little
25:55bit.
25:56So that's just, again, that's one of the reasons that he's forced to like him, because Warson just continues to
26:00play.
26:03Back in that zone.
26:04Well, no, no, no.
26:04He's pretty much stayed in this zone.
26:07It'll match up periodically, but it's still in the zone.
26:10That's a good bye, Jay Hoff.
26:14Now the Heat can tie or take the lead.
26:16Otavayo back in.
26:17This is where, I mean, that could be a problem.
26:21That's one place that I think the Pacers would be concerned about.
26:24Tough having to go out of Bayou on the move.
26:26On the move is McConnell.
26:29He has 15.
26:31He had 17 Wednesday night against the Lakers after a 13-point game off the bench when Indiana snapped down
26:38a losing streak Monday in Orlando.
26:40Oh, he's, he almost had the steam.
26:47And Dembo is going to come in at the next get-all.
26:50I would expect we're going to see Hero at some point.
26:53He's waiting at the score's bench.
26:58They go over the top, Siakam.
27:01And draws the foul.
27:02Three throws for Pascal.
27:09It's on Javier Jaquez.
27:11His first.
27:12His first.
27:13Team foul number one of the two.
27:22Siakam.
27:23Three throws.
27:25Nine of 18 from the field today.
27:27Three of six from distance.
27:29One of three at the line.
27:3122 points, five rebounds, five assists.
27:36Siakam with the free throw.
27:38Now this from Galitko and Daly.

27:56Siakam has a vote.
28:066.80 in a lead.
28:08Hero step through, throws it up in the air.
28:10And Larson catches.
28:12And Mitchell also back in for Miami.
28:16Shot clock at four.
28:19Hero bounces behind the arc short.
28:23Long rebound low.
28:24Jaquez.
28:27And barely did hit the rim.
28:30No, he didn't hit the rim.
28:31He hit the other side of the backfield.
28:35Slawson open for three.
28:38Kept alive by Siakam.
28:42Paskal.
28:43Too strong.
28:45Rebound Adebayo.
28:49Halfway through the fourth quarter in Indianapolis.
28:53Adebayo throws it up.
28:54No good.
28:55Rebound Siakam.
28:56Ahead to Nembhardt.
28:58Reverse layup.
28:59Good.
29:01Left hand, left side.
29:04Nembhardt went underneath the basket.
29:09He can't leave, Indiana.
29:15A lot of value.
29:17Very well.
29:22This is an active look.
29:24Have not needed a shot clock today.
29:39And that's Pacer's ball.
29:42Pacer's ball.
29:48And Wiggins is going to check in now for Miami.
29:51He'll replace Hawkins.
29:52And that's Pacer's ball.
29:54One, two, three, two, three.
29:58Slawson, Nembhardt, Huff, Shepard, Slawson.
30:03That's the five for the Pacers.
30:08Afternoon, they've had seven scoring double figures.
30:14Slawson on the attack.
30:16Huff, little teardrop.
30:19And a Miami timeout.
30:24One, two, three, one, fifteen.
30:27Pacers by eight.
30:31Five, oh, seven to play.
30:32Pacers by eight.
30:34One, two, three, one, fifteen.
30:36Trying to snap an 11-game home losing streak.
30:40On the road, Wednesday, United Center in Chicago
30:44or Indiana Members Credit Union Pacers Live pregame show
30:47will start at 7.30 with J.J. and Eddie.
30:51Brent, we've seen the Pacers' offense be so good this last week.
30:5555% against Orlando, 56% against the Lakers.
30:59Right now, a season-high 59%.
31:01They've been a really good job, Chris.
31:03If you take a look at part of that reason,
31:04it's because they've been so effective in terms of assists.
31:07You're talking about 33 assists.
31:09So you get quality shots.
31:11And you do it often enough if you know where those shots are coming from.
31:14So you're shot ready when that opportunity is there.
31:16And rebound ready was Jay Huck.
31:19He had the box out on Adebayo.
31:22Pacers by eight.
31:23They had a ten-point lead in the first half.
31:28They rest Siakam right now.
31:35Shot clock at four.
31:37M. Hart's going to take that very deep three.
31:39B. It's off rebound by Adebayo.
31:42Pacers 17-35 making 17-36.
31:4647% for three.
31:48Mitchell bumps it out now to Adebayo for three.
31:51He'll take that all day because Mitchell was in the paint,
31:53almost at the restricted area,
31:56and he chose to throw it out to the corner.
31:59M. Hart draws the foul.
32:02One of the best, they said,
32:04was going that foul.
32:06The other thing, Glenn, too,
32:07is Bam Adebayo,
32:08it was a two today.
32:10He's been in his last 29 for three.
32:12You give him that.
32:13Yeah, he's not typically a three-point shooter.
32:15It is,
32:17that's a valid point.
32:18But my point simply was,
32:20you got Mitchell right at the basket,
32:23and he throws it out there.
32:24That's where you want to throw it.
32:25And Siakam comes right back in.
32:28He'll replace Lawson.
32:30First, Chris Lades,
32:30it's a good time to get him back in.
32:31Four minutes.
32:32He can finish up the game.
32:34Our producer, Brian Woodrum,
32:36our director, Todd Kinsey,
32:37today's technical director, Mike Stevens.
32:40We want to thank Alex Cartman,
32:41Patrick Eberle,
32:42Nick Thompson,
32:43Mario Calero,
32:43and Aaron Angel
32:45as our TDs all year long
32:48here on FanDuel Sports Network.
32:50Thanks for all they do
32:51to try to recognize
32:52all of the great crew people
32:54as we wind down this season
32:55here at home.
32:56We've got three home games left.
32:58Not next week,
32:59but the following week,
33:00Minnesota,
33:01Philadelphia,
33:02and Detroit.
33:02Fan appreciation night.
33:04Here's a three.
33:05Kobe Brown missed it.
33:08He looks for him to play.
33:10Pacers,
33:10an eighth great lead.
33:15He won.
33:16He can't beat you up to driven.
33:19He can't beat you up to driven.
33:20So you've got to know that about him.
33:22He's a three-point shooter,
33:23and he doesn't have enough
33:24wiggle in this game
33:25to beat you up to driven.
33:26For Shepard,
33:27a good job for staying in front of him.
33:29And Siakam's going to draw the foul,
33:31but they will say it's out front,
33:32not a shooting foul.
33:34And there's a technical foul.
33:39It's on De'Bion Mitchell.
33:51There's no way they've been playing all the way about that.
33:55Yeah.
33:55They've been allowing that contact.
33:58And Pacer Mitchell,
33:59he thought that they should not have been a foul,
34:01and so is their explosive.
34:03But it was.
34:05Again,
34:05this is a big 48 hours for the Heat,
34:08courtly night.
34:09They've got Philadelphia at home tomorrow,
34:12Wednesday,
34:12against Boston.
34:15Philadelphia just beat Charlotte.
34:18And indeed,
34:18he's playing,
34:19and so is Paul George.
34:20Paul George is back.
34:21Get ready.
34:23They've got 25 game suspension.
34:26And they'll be brought out.
34:27Oh, good basketball.
34:28Pops for three in the corner.
34:30Good basketball.
34:30Good basketball.
34:31That's Pacer basketball there.
34:33But two guys who are not a part of the roster
34:36early in the year,
34:37not collectively,
34:39and for sure last season.
34:40So that was great to see.
34:42Jay Huff with a long two.
34:44As Mitchell gets inside,
34:46he missed it.
34:47And the Pacers back the other way
34:49with three minutes to play.
34:51Siakam.
34:52Good foul.
34:53Ooh.
34:56I mean,
34:57the Pacers have done a terrific job
34:59here from the Auburn.
34:59They've got 34 assists.
35:01Watch what he's going to do.
35:02That's a drive.
35:04Kick is a relocation
35:05by Jay Huff
35:06behind,
35:07able to knock down that three.
35:09Ladies and gentlemen,
35:10that's got to feel good
35:11by Jay Huff
35:12given what he's had to go through
35:13for the last 48 hours
35:15in a tough game
35:16where he just,
35:16it didn't go down.
35:18The foul shot didn't go down.
35:19Did not play in the first half.
35:21We've seen him here
35:21in the second half.
35:22Huff with a couple of blocked shots
35:24and six points.
35:26As Siakam hits the free throw,
35:28a 12-point Indiana lead,
35:29and now a message
35:31from Holt Plumman.
35:33We're plumbers.
35:34Of course we know
35:34which kids flush the toy.
35:35We're electricians.
35:37Nothing shocks us.
35:38We're HVAC techs.
35:39We like it hot or cold.
35:40We've seen it all,
35:41and we still show up.
35:44Pacers have scored
35:45eight straight points
35:46since the 5-21 mark.
35:48Now nine straight,
35:50and they've opened up
35:51a 13-point lead.
35:52Yeah, you got Siakam, Chris.
35:54Siakam's got 26 points.
35:56He started out struggling.
35:58That's an outing loop
35:59with a left hand.
36:00That was a pass.
36:02That two-year point,
36:03he also has 10 rebounds again.
36:04When he went to the bench
36:06with the two-review fouls,
36:07it almost rejuvenated him.
36:10You can see, too,
36:11because you can see now
36:12he's taking it off the dribble
36:14looking for a place
36:15to get a jump shot up.
36:17And the Pacers hit 130
36:19for the fifth time this year.
36:22And the Pacers have it
36:23with 2.26 to play
36:25and in control by 13.
36:31A feel-good Sunday
36:33is 2 minutes and 16 seconds away.
36:36Pacers have not won at home
36:38since January 31st.
36:42That was batted out by Miami.
36:46You've got to get into it right away.
36:48You only have 4.3 on it.
36:52Pacers had a 45-point second quarter
36:55matching a season-high
36:5779 first-half points.
37:00Oh, somehow he got it in!
37:05He's got to laugh
37:06because he was just trying
37:07to see if he couldn't draw a foul
37:08and he was able to get some contact.
37:11No foul call.
37:12But Andrew Nemar knocked down
37:14a big three.
37:18The Indiana crowd
37:20has been so good all year.
37:22And they're on their feet
37:23for the Pacers,
37:25leading by 16.
37:2671 plus you, the viewers.
37:29You've supported this team
37:30all year long
37:31through a lot of thick and thin.
37:34And 133, 117.
37:36It's been a fun Sunday afternoon
37:38here at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
37:39It really has.
37:40I mean, Siakam is a guy
37:42that we talked about.
37:43He probably thought he was a little bit tired,
37:46but he got rejuvenated,
37:47no question about it.
37:48He's your leader.
37:49And when you see him start making plays,
37:51it's got to make everybody else
37:52feel good putting forth
37:54that extra effort.
37:55Getting the bucket,
37:56handling the ball,
37:57taking the defense on,
37:59all of those kinds of things
38:00that everybody needs to do.
38:02Your fearless leader has done it.
38:03And he's got a double-double,
38:0428-11,
38:05and 6-6.
38:07This is the assist, I should say.
38:08I'm not seeing the triple-double,
38:10but they never know.
38:1210th double-double of the year
38:14for Pascal Siakam.
38:15And that's after he scored
38:17just 11 here Friday
38:18down against the Clippers.
38:24Good job.
38:25They kept people from getting the ball,
38:26and that's the guy you want to get the ball.
38:29You don't mind so much without a buyer
38:30because you're talking about
38:31a two-point shot versus a three-point shot.
38:34So many players have played so well
38:37on this Sunday afternoon.
38:38Seven-and-double figures.
38:40Really have to think about
38:42what Micah Potter and T.J. McConnell
38:44did in that first quarter
38:45and first half.
38:47All right, yes.
38:48That offense was good.
38:50The defense has been much better.
38:51If you're looking at it,
38:53if you get out of this
38:54with under 125,
38:55you've probably done
38:56a pretty good job.
38:58It's just the defense
38:59has done a better job
39:00when it needed to get stopped.
39:02It got stopped.
39:03Yeah, everyone's going to follow up
39:04on that with the numbers.
39:05It'll say exactly what you said,
39:07when Miami 5 of 27
39:09from the field in the fourth.
39:10They really struggled with it,
39:12but the Pacers did.
39:13Look, that's part of the adjustments
39:15that are made
39:16at halftime
39:17with Rick Carlisle and his staff.
39:28And a rebound by Larson
39:31inside the final minute.
39:34Great job getting back
39:35in defense by Proby Brown.
39:40And what?
39:42Rolls off.
39:43Huff is trying to track down
39:45his third block.
39:46The first and first
39:47of Iowa's minutes.
39:48There was a new
39:50duty on this one.
39:52So many players contributing.
39:54In fact, everybody who's played
39:56all make it 10 of the 11
39:58of score.
39:58Jalen Slauson started.
40:00Do we have Brickin' for chicken?
40:01I'm sorry.
40:02I told my kiddo,
40:04Brickin' for chicken.
40:05We've got the...
40:07Oh, ladies and gentlemen,
40:08sorry for the interruption,
40:10but we've got to be talking
40:11about the Brickin' for chicken.
40:13The Brickin' for chicken,
40:14if it occurs.
40:16And there'll be some
40:17happy people here in the game.
40:20Can we get Brickin'?
40:22Oh!
40:24And disappointment abound.
40:28And the boos come in as well.
40:30The true two ringleaders
40:32of Brickin' for chicken.
40:33No, no, no, no, no.
40:34Are Tyrese Halliburton.
40:35No, no, no, no.
40:35There's no two.
40:36There's Tyrese.
40:40I would...
40:42I'd like to be one of the ringers.
40:43That's Tyrese.
40:44Chris, he reminded me
40:46while you and I
40:47were in the midst of my conversation.
40:48He reminded me.
40:49That's Tyrese.
40:51That's great.
40:52We're just supporting it.
40:53Yeah, great to see the smiles
40:55from a wins-losses standpoint,
40:57few and far between,
40:58but this has been
41:00a terrific Sunday
41:01for the Pacers.
41:03It really has.
41:05I mean, Miami's a team
41:06that is the Pacers battle
41:09every game.
41:10Yeah.
41:10You know, the halftime score,
41:11something that used to be,
41:12Chris, that used to be
41:13the game score.
41:14Yes.
41:15And to see the Pacers
41:16be able to come out
41:17and do the kind of things
41:19they have with the lineups
41:20they've had to put
41:21on the floor.
41:22The defense has been
41:22much more solid,
41:24got a contribution
41:25from a lot of people.
41:27A 30-point game
41:28for Pascal Siakam,
41:31his 13th of the year,
41:32and a dominant fourth quarter
41:35by the Pacers.
41:36They're going to win it
41:37by 17, 135-118,
41:41and they snapped
41:42that 11-game home court
41:44losing streak,
41:45and this crowd
41:46of almost 17,000
41:48on its feet
41:49congratulating the Pacers
41:52on the win.
41:58When they hold the heat
42:00to 11 fourth quarter points,
42:02and if you think about it,
42:04that's not what they did
42:05on Friday night.
42:06It was the Clippers
42:07that rallied in the fourth quarter
42:08to win today.
42:10They put the clamps
42:11on the heat.
42:11Well, they did a really
42:12good job with the heat.
42:13You know,
42:15we can get back
42:16into the Clippers game.
42:16I'm not sure
42:17whether their offense
42:18is better or worse,
42:18but I thought
42:19what the Pacers did
42:19was their adjustment.
42:20What they started worrying about
42:21is just closing off the gaps
42:23so you don't have a chance
42:24to just get in
42:25to the paint
42:26and get buckets.
42:27So a lot of the paint points
42:29got taken away,
42:31but by the same token,
42:32you also were able
42:33to get Siakam
42:33in a nice offensive rhythm,
42:35and I think
42:36that was really helpful
42:37for the team
42:38from an offensive standpoint.
42:40But let's talk
42:40about that bench
42:41because the bench
42:41was really good,
42:43I thought,
42:43particularly
42:44in the first half.
42:4777 bench points
42:48by the Pacers.
42:49That's clearly
42:50a season high
42:51and so many
42:52terrific performances.
42:54The Pacers had
42:5579 first-half points,
42:58and let's send it
42:59to JJ
43:00with a very happy
43:02Kobe Brown.
43:03A career high
43:04for Kobe Brown,
43:0677 bench points
43:07for the Pacers,
43:08but we've got to start
43:08with that fourth quarter.
43:09You're up one
43:11going to the fourth,
43:12and you win it by 17.
43:13What happened
43:13in those final 12 minutes?
43:15Man, just a great team effort.
43:16You know,
43:17the guys really dug in
43:18on the defensive end,
43:19and it started there,
43:20and it transferred
43:20to his office.
43:21So, big shout-outs
43:22to the guys.
43:23Over the last couple weeks,
43:24we've had some conversations
43:25about your three-point shooting,
43:26and no hesitation.
43:27You're letting it fly.
43:28When those go down,
43:29how does that open up
43:30everything else for your game?
43:31It definitely opens up
43:32a lot, man.
43:32It makes the defense
43:33have to stretch out
43:34a little bit more,
43:35gives guys driving lanes,
43:36gives myself driving lanes,
43:37and just opens
43:38everything up for the offense.
43:39This was your 21st game
43:40with the Pacers.
43:41How have you started
43:42to really feel
43:43like a Pacer?
43:44Yeah, man.
43:45The fans here are great.
43:46The team's great.
43:47Organization's great.
43:48They took me and Zou
43:49in with open arms,
43:49and it's just a great place
43:51to be, man.
43:51I love you here.
43:52I had a conversation
43:52during the game
43:53with your dad,
43:54a high school coach
43:54in Alabama, 25 years,
43:56and he said he tries to,
43:57he's sitting up there,
43:58and I know he's proud.
43:59Your mom's here as well,
44:00but he said he communicates
44:02with you regularly.
44:02Before games,
44:03he offers advice,
44:04even sometimes at halftime.
44:05What's the messages
44:06he gives you?
44:07Man, just keep playing hard.
44:08Get to two feet.
44:10Play defense.
44:11Get as many rebounds
44:11as you can
44:12and just play our game
44:13and have fun, man.
44:14He's just big on having fun
44:15and doing everything
44:16I've done to get here.
44:17Every time we've talked,
44:19you've just mentioned
44:20you want to get wins.
44:21There haven't been
44:22as many of those as you like,
44:22but to get this win today,
44:23what does it mean?
44:24Man, it means a lot,
44:25especially if you're here
44:25in front of the home crowd.
44:27We had a dry spell here
44:28for a minute,
44:28and I'm glad we finally
44:29broke it up in one-on-one.
44:31Congratulations.
44:32We talk offense a lot,
44:34Quinn,
44:34but 27-11,
44:36the Pacers hold the heat
44:38to 11 at the 4th.
44:39I thought the hands
44:39were very active
44:40on the defensive end,
44:41and then Pacers did
44:41a really good job
44:42protecting the lead
44:43and then finding a way
44:44to extend it.
