00:00I have to ask you about Army-Navy, one of my favorite games.
00:03The president makes it their own game, their own week.
00:07I mean, it's the second week, I believe, in December.
00:10What was your takeaway on this, that President Trump has made this America's game for the American Conference?
00:16This has got to be really like a merit badge for you guys.
00:20It really is.
00:21I think you know this, and other people that have attended Army-Navy know this.
00:26Army-Navy is not just a football game.
00:28No.
00:29It's really not.
00:30It's just Army-Navy is different.
00:32You know, and as I've started to go back to the Army-Navy game in my job, I like to
00:36take someone every year that hasn't been there.
00:38And like my first year, I took one of my sons.
00:40Last year, I took my wife and my daughter and her boyfriend.
00:42And it's just an experience that's different.
00:45And I think the fact that it has the attention of people in Washington is important.
00:51Because in this era of money and transfers and NIL and a lack of commitment, Army and Navy, and I've
00:58told their players this.
00:59I've gotten a chance to speak to both groups.
01:01In a world where commitment is being de-emphasized, they are the high bar.
01:05And having played against Army-Navy in college when I played at Rutgers, these are young people that have chosen
01:10a lifestyle.
01:11They haven't chosen a football team.
01:13So it's different.
01:14And I think protecting that game and defending that game is very important.
01:18Why?
01:19It doesn't matter who's in government.
01:21This is something that is important to the American people.
01:24Ten million people watch this thing every year.
01:26It's different.
01:27So I think it's really great for the league.
01:30You know, certainly Army and Navy being in our conference gives us access to a lot of very influential people
01:35in these discussions.
01:36And I think that's great as we chart the course for the future for the conference.
