00:00There's a new conference they've just announced in college basketball, and it's the B-I-T-C-H conference.
00:08I'm not sure if you're familiar with it or not, Tyrone.
00:11Yeah, the charter members of this new conference are Virginia Tech, Belmont, San Diego State, Seton Hall, Indiana, and Florida
00:24State.
00:24All six of those teams are now part of a brand-new conference known as the Bitch Conference.
00:31Now, why is it known as the Bitch Conference?
00:33Yeah, why?
00:33Because they have all declined invitations to play in the 2026 NIT tournament because, wah, we didn't get selected to
00:44be the NCAA tournament, so we're going to take our ball and go home.
00:48Wah!
00:50Now, Belmont, in theory, I can give a pass to because they lost their head coach.
00:56Right.
00:56So they're kind of a rudderless ship as far as who's coaching them.
00:59Yeah, it'd be tough.
01:00But what's fascinating to me is when a team like Seton Hall, for example, who had the coach of the
01:06year in the Big East in a bad year, just hollowized for the Big East.
01:09It was a two-team conference, UConn and St. John's.
01:13But he built up a team that had been laggy for a while.
01:18No, he's a great coach, Holloway.
01:19I think he's a fantastic coach.
01:20So they've opted out of all tournaments, all right?
01:25Indiana declined.
01:27Florida State declined after consulting with team leadership and on and on and on.
01:32That, to me, stinks.
01:35Yeah.
01:35And I don't understand, and I've never met a group of 18- to 23-year-old competitive kids who
01:43say no to more competition, who say no to extending a season and getting to play more basketball, right?
01:51And I think it's a terrible job by the university presidents.
01:56I think it's a terrible job by the athletic directors.
01:59I think it's an embarrassing job by the head coaches and an embarrassing job amongst the players that voted and
02:08raised their hands and said, nah, we ain't playing in the NIT.
02:12That's why you're on the bitch conference now.
02:15Now, I'm not surprised Virginia Tech's there.
02:18I ain't surprised that you Hokies made a decision like that after hiring James Franklin to be your head football
02:25coach and begging people to try out because you don't have enough talent there to win games.
02:31So I ain't surprised about Virginia Tech, but I am surprised about San Diego State and Seton Hall and Indiana
02:39and Florida State.
02:40And I think it's a bad message to send to fans of the school and alumni.
02:45I think it's a bad message for the kids themselves.
02:49And if I was an athletic director and my coach came to me, I would say, we're playing basketball.
02:55That's why these kids are here in addition to getting an education.
02:58We're playing basketball.
02:59We'd be given a gift, an opportunity to extend our season, maybe win a postseason tournament and build off that
03:07for next year.
03:09And as soon as you show me a group of kids, a coach, or an athletic director that says no
03:16to more competition, I fire every one of them.
03:20And I tell every one of those kids, you lost your scholarship.
03:23Go find a new place to play.
