00:00Howdy this is Tyler with Harrison Gunworks. I'm just gonna be going over the
00:04install for the Chris Vector FRT. So you're gonna need a handful of tools. You're gonna need three
00:13different Allen key sizes a two, two and a half, and a three. You're gonna want a
00:19small flathead screwdriver. You're gonna want a piece of string.
00:29Some pliers, a small hammer, a punch. You're gonna want a large hammer like this
00:40guy. An armorer's plate for pushing pins out and a handful of smaller punches as
00:53well. So get started. Obviously first make sure you're wearing safety glasses. Safety
00:59first. We've got springs included involved in this so you don't want to get hurt.
01:04Next, make sure the gun is clear. Then we're gonna disassemble it. Start by pushing the
01:15take down pins out. And then just set these around, just set these aside somewhere
01:29where you're not gonna lose them and remove your lower. Next, let's take the selectors
01:41out. I'm gonna grab your two millimeter. You're probably gonna want to hold the
01:47safety in place because otherwise it may just rotate around. And set that aside.
02:02There we go. Trying to do as much of this on camera so I basically just held that there
02:07and then undid the screw. Okay. Next, I'm gonna pull these three screws out. Now, if this is a Gen
02:213,
02:22on Gen 3s you're just gonna have access to the screws from the top. If you have a Gen 2,
02:26this rail
02:27slides off. You need to undo all the screws across the top, slide the rail off, and then you'll have
02:34access to the fire control group screws underneath. So, with that, you want a two and a half.
02:51These are all the same size, so it doesn't necessarily matter what order they come in or go out.
03:22Next, I'm gonna pull these two bolts out. Those are gonna be your three
03:27millimeter. You just hold your brass deflector in. So, it's that one and that one.
03:49Okay, brass defector is out. Pull the bolt out. And, at this point, your fire control group
03:57should just slide right out. Just like that. Then, take that out. Set your upper aside. You won't need it
04:05for a minute.
04:09Next, take that guy off. Set it aside. Hold the hammer and make sure you're not in the safe position
04:19so you can pull the trigger.
04:27There we go. Pull the trigger. Let the hammer go forward. Okay. Now, we're gonna start our disassembly. We're gonna
04:37basically start at the front. Work our way all the way to the back.
04:41Start. Just push out the large pin. Keep in mind, there are a couple spaces in the spring here. You
04:47don't want to lose them.
04:50I'm gonna push that out. I'm just gonna put my thumb over the hammer in the spring. Pull the pin
04:59out. Everything just drops out into my hand.
05:06I'm gonna do the same thing for this guy.
05:18And then, you want to get your pliers. You got this little detent right here.
05:24You don't want that coming out without you telling it when. So, reach in there. Grab it with pliers. Pull
05:32that out. Set it aside. You don't want to lose that.
05:34I spent about an hour looking for one when I was first doing this.
05:39Okay. Then, we're just gonna push that out. Same thing. Pull the pin out. Set it aside. And all the
05:49stuff will come falling out.
05:52Okay. Now, the front part of the sears is loose. Now, we're gonna disassemble the trigger. Now, this part, you
06:00got to be really careful because this spring will go flying and it's kind of a pain to find it.
06:06So, I will grab a cardboard box. Put it in the box to kind of help retain everything. I'm just
06:19gonna grab my two and a half mil. I'm just going to push that pin out.
06:33So, now, it's held in only by the two and a half. And I'm just gonna real easy let that
06:41come up.
06:43Now, everything is gonna come spilling out. But it's captured by the box. You won't lose anything.
06:49There's your spring. Set it aside. Pull that guy out. Make sure you're not missing anything. It looks like everything
06:58came out.
07:03And then, two spacers. Okay. You're done with the box.
07:20Don't forget the pin. Okay. Now that this is done, we need to remove the mainspring from the cam.
07:29This can get a little tricky. And if you do it a lot, your trigger housing will end up looking
07:41like mine.
07:42So, what I do is I kind of just hook onto it. Try and just pry it off. It works,
07:53but it takes some effort sometimes.
08:03So, bear with me for a moment.
08:14One thing you can do, sometimes it works, take your safety, rotate it.
08:23And the safety may actually push those springs off. Yeah. Yeah, like that. Okay.
08:36Now, I'm just gonna kind of finagle this so that you can get the spring the rest of the way
08:44off like that.
08:46And then, this and yours is gonna be the old safety cam. This is actually the new one.
08:52I'm just showing you guys how to take it apart.
08:55So, set that aside. Set that aside. Take the spring. Remove the spring from the sear.
09:06Okay. This is, obviously, the new Rattler sear.
09:12What you're gonna want, but on yours, yours is gonna be the OEM.
09:16So, what you're gonna wanna do is you're gonna wanna find this pin here, and you're gonna need to hammer
09:22it out.
09:22When you do that, make sure you've got a nice, solid surface, and that it's supported correctly.
09:33If this, if the sear itself is offset, and it's, you can actually bend it and bow it one way
09:42or the other, which can cause a problem.
09:44So, you wanna make sure that you're, that it's being pushed basically straight through and it's fully supported.
09:50It's not going to be easy. This pin is really frickin' tough.
09:55That's why you don't wanna use a little hammer. Use the big one. Otherwise, you'll be doing this for an
10:04hour.
10:08And then, it's kind of the same process for putting it back in. I'm not gonna do it here because
10:13it takes a minute.
10:14I have to do it off camera.
10:17So, you're basically, once the new sear's in, make sure it's in this, it looks just like this.
10:25This is exactly the orientation it's supposed to be in.
10:29If it doesn't look like this, you put it in upside down.
10:32Then, just hammer the pin back into place to where it's nice and flush.
10:37I like to use these.
10:40These are little starter punches.
10:42They're kind of cheating, but they're really nice.
10:47Once you have that back in, it is mostly flush. It's fine.
10:50It doesn't need to be like perfect, but just make sure it's not grossly sticking out.
10:56Once that's done, we're basically gonna do everything we just did, but mostly backwards.
11:01So, we're gonna set this aside.
11:05And we're gonna start with the spring.
11:08Before we put the spring on, we need to tighten these legs.
11:13So, you're gonna grab your needle-nose pliers.
11:16Put them right there.
11:20Come on.
11:23And you're gonna just squeeze.
11:25Just like that.
11:27Come over here.
11:28Do the same thing on this other side.
11:35Yep.
11:36Just like that.
11:36Now, one thing to keep in mind.
11:38When you're working on this, sometimes, the spring itself will get bowed.
11:43Like, it'll get bowed upward.
11:46I don't want to bend it, because I've had to bend it back a few times.
11:50Um, you'll just want to make sure you bend it so it's mostly straight again.
11:53If it's bowed upward, then you're gonna run into issues,
11:56because this will actually put weird pressure on the sear.
11:59Okay.
12:00Okay.
12:00Next, we want this to sit just like this.
12:06This is how it's supposed to look.
12:07I don't know that I've done this right the first time yet.
12:11So, bear with me.
12:13Basically, we're going to insert one of the legs.
12:17Let's spring through that hole.
12:20Run it.
12:21Spin it around.
12:22And yeah, see?
12:23See?
12:25Upside down.
12:26So, don't do it that way.
12:27Do it the other direction.
12:38There.
12:40This is the correct orientation.
12:45I mean, here we go.
12:47Just like that.
12:49If it doesn't look like this, you did it wrong, like I did the first time.
12:53Flip it around.
12:54Try it again.
12:54Okay.
12:56Okay.
12:56Now, we need to insert this back onto here.
13:01So, you're gonna take the spring and push it down into there.
13:10And then you want the trigger and the sear to kind of come forward.
13:14Because you're gonna need...
13:15You need to make sure they're still in the upper portion, in this portion of the housing.
13:20But you're gonna have to play around for a little bit to get the spring to sit correctly.
13:25Before we put the spring back in, make sure you put your safety selector back in.
13:30All right.
13:31Just a quick update.
13:32We're rolling out some new cams for the Vector Force 3 sets.
13:38If you have a way to tell, look at one side.
13:44This is an older one.
13:46If it's got a chamfered corner, you've got an older one.
13:49In that case, you want it in this orientation, with the chamfer on this side.
13:56The new ones don't have the chamfer.
14:02Instead, let's see if we can get the camera to focus.
14:06You've got a notch.
14:07You can kind of see it.
14:08I'm gonna point to it.
14:09Make it real obvious.
14:12Right there.
14:14That notch tells you the orientation to have the cam rotated.
14:19And where to put your safety selector.
14:22So that you don't get it on backwards.
14:24And it tells you which side to insert the cam onto.
14:29So if you have that notch, the notch needs to be on the left side of the gun.
14:36That's this side.
14:40And then you want the notch facing rearward.
14:43Because when you go to put your selector on, that is going to basically be your safe position.
14:58Then, it'll actually rotate to the correct positions.
15:13There.
15:14Yeah.
15:15So, that's safe.
15:17Single fire.
15:19Force reset.
15:23I'm gonna slide that back in there.
15:27Make sure everything's playing nice.
15:32Do not expect this to just fall back into play.
15:36Because it usually doesn't.
15:44There we go.
15:46Once that's there, just double check that the sear and the trigger are still in the upper position.
15:53And then you're just gonna push these on.
15:57Just like that.
15:59That's how it should look.
16:03Then, make sure that you can actually move the trigger back to where it's supposed to go.
16:08That is, this is how it's supposed to look.
16:11Just like this.
16:15Okay.
16:16Next, we're gonna disassemble the front half.
16:19And go, yeah, front to back on assembly, basically.
16:22Or, sorry.
16:24Back to front, skipping the trigger.
16:26So, we're gonna start with the small pin here.
16:32Grab one of the small pins.
16:34You're gonna want the two black spacers.
16:38Okay.
16:39This black spacer is the first one that goes in.
16:41This angle always faces back towards the trigger.
16:45This flat portion here goes underneath the sear.
16:58Just like that.
17:01I'm gonna take a pin.
17:03Insert it.
17:04Get everything to line up.
17:07I'm gonna adjust the sear as needed.
17:11So that the pin will go through it.
17:14But it will go through it, I promise.
17:22There it goes.
17:23Yep, just like that.
17:27You wanna have it not all the way through.
17:29Cause you're gonna need to put the large spacer in.
17:33Same story.
17:34Flat, the angle portion here.
17:36Get it to focus.
17:37There we go.
17:38Angle portion there.
17:39Goes back towards the trigger.
17:44When you get it all lined up, just push the pin through.
17:48And you're done with that part.
17:50Next, we're gonna get the next small pin.
17:52For the next small pin, you're gonna wanna get...
17:56That little detent and spring, this guy.
18:02Don't go anywhere.
18:05And then your disconnector.
18:08So first things first, let's insert the spring and plunger.
18:15And that just goes right back in that little hole that was up front.
18:22Just like that.
18:24Next, I'm gonna take the pin.
18:29Kind of the same thing as before.
18:31Push it through.
18:32Get it lined up on the sear.
18:34You may need to push the sear up a little bit from the back.
18:38Back here.
18:40To get it to line up.
18:42Now, obviously don't push it all the way through.
18:44Cause we need to put the disconnector on.
18:46Put the disconnector in.
18:48That little nub right there goes onto the ledge of the sear.
18:56Get it lined up.
19:04And...
19:05Once it's all lined up...
19:07There we go.
19:08The pin goes right through it.
19:10See?
19:11That is how it's supposed to look.
19:13Come on, focus.
19:15That's how it's supposed to look.
19:17You can pull the trigger.
19:19If you're pulling the trigger,
19:21the sear and the disconnector should alternate back and forth like such.
19:25Okay.
19:26Now we're gonna put the hammer on.
19:39Okay.
19:41So...
19:41A couple things.
19:43Real quick.
19:43The spring.
19:45The orientation of the spring is backwards from what you'd think.
19:48A lot of people think the rounded part of the spring.
19:51A little hook.
19:52A little focus.
19:53There we go.
19:54That part, a lot of people think it goes on the rounded part of the hammer.
19:57That is incorrect.
19:58The flat part goes on the rounded part.
20:02Just like that.
20:05Okay.
20:05So we're gonna put the large pin in.
20:15Insert one of the spacers.
20:19And we're gonna insert the hammer with the spring on it.
20:30And get that lined up.
20:33Once it's lined up, the pin should go right into it.
20:37There we go.
20:39So...
20:39Just make sure you don't push it too far.
20:41Like I did.
20:44Because you still have to fit this other spacer.
20:49Sometimes, this other spacer can be a little unpleasant.
20:55Doesn't always like to cooperate.
20:57So, you can use a tool from the other side to help move it into position.
21:01And then you can push that pin all the way through.
21:03At this point, you're like 90% done.
21:06Okay.
21:07Now, we're gonna assemble the trigger.
21:10This part can be a little tricky.
21:12So pay attention.
21:13And I'll try and do this as clear and as thorough as I can.
21:16First thing we're gonna want to do.
21:18Move the trigger out of the way.
21:20We're gonna insert the pin.
21:22The spacer.
21:23And the spring into the bottom first.
21:30So...
21:30Pin.
21:33And...
21:34That's the large spacer.
21:36That's the small spacer.
21:38That's the spring.
21:45Okay.
21:48Put the pin in.
21:50Take the small spacer.
21:52Put the small spacer on the pin.
21:54Take the spring.
21:56You want the spring to be facing this direction.
21:59Point up.
22:00With the hook.
22:03Forward.
22:04See that?
22:10And that's just gonna go right on there just like that.
22:15Then we're gonna let the trigger come back.
22:17We're gonna line everything up and push that pin up.
22:21Now...
22:21We don't want it to stick all the way up because we need to get...
22:25The large spacer.
22:27I'm just gonna set the large spacer...
22:29I'm gonna set the large spacer onto the trigger itself.
22:32And then use one of my tools to position it over the pin.
22:36And then push the pin through once it's lined up.
22:39This will be pretty hard to see.
22:42So...
22:43If you have questions on this part, just...
22:45Like, email me.
22:47There we go.
22:50Okay.
22:51All done.
22:53Mostly.
22:53Okay.
22:54Now that that's done, you need to go get some tape.
22:58A piece of the scotch tape that I have.
23:01I have some right here.
23:06And you want to put a piece of tape over the pin on both sides.
23:14Because this pin is not very well retained until the spring has tension on it.
23:20And it will fall out and you will be mad.
23:23If you're anything like me and it happened like a dozen times while you're putting this together the first time.
23:28Okay.
23:29Now you can manipulate this and it's not gonna fall out.
23:32Next, what we need to do is we need to get the hook of the spring, this guy here, to
23:42sit behind this little screw right there.
23:47On the other side, on the top side of it, up here.
23:52Yeah.
23:54Right there.
23:55So, what we're gonna do is we're gonna take our string.
24:02Make a little loop.
24:18Loop through there.
24:21And...
24:22Oh my gosh.
24:35There we go.
24:37Okay.
24:38Got the loop through the top.
24:40We're gonna hook it around the spring.
24:44And make it so that you should be able to put tension on it now.
24:47You wanna make sure that the...
24:49That the string is not behind...
24:54That...
24:54That screw.
24:55It needs to look like that.
24:56Okay.
24:58Now...
24:59You wanna be in a position where you can pull on it.
25:01But you're gonna need a free hand.
25:03And...
25:05So you can maneuver the spring.
25:21There we go.
25:23There we go.
25:24See?
25:25Now we're gonna use the spring.
25:30We're gonna use the string and...
25:36A little flat head.
25:38To move everything into position.
25:42This is a lot easier to see in person than it is on camera.
25:46And then once you get it over there.
25:48Just slide the spring off...
25:50The string off the spring.
25:51And that is what it should look like.
25:56Should have...
25:57One part of the spring.
25:58The straight part back here.
26:00Against the trigger housing.
26:02Curved part.
26:03Up against...
26:04The screw on the trigger.
26:07At this point...
26:09Trigger pack is assembled.
26:12Give it a quick test.
26:19Make sure everything is doing what it's supposed to do.
26:22And lo and behold...
26:23It is.
26:23Check that out.
26:25Okay.
26:25Now you can...
26:27Take the tape off.
26:31And we're basically just gonna throw everything back in the gun.
26:39Grab your upper.
26:42Grab this little guy again.
26:44Not exactly sure what it's called but...
26:52That...
26:53Then...
26:55Just drop that...
26:56Into your upper.
26:58Slide it back.
27:01Once that's done...
27:04Grab your dust cover.
27:08Not your dust cover.
27:10Not your dust cover.
27:10Your brass deflector.
27:11And this guy...
27:12Just drops right in the front.
27:17Right there.
27:19And then...
27:21Two bolts.
27:25These guys.
27:34And grab your three mil.
27:37That one.
27:40Tighten that up.
27:43Okay.
27:55These don't...
27:56Have a torque spec.
27:58Just...
27:58Snug is fine.
27:59Don't really crank on them.
28:01You're not trying to strip them.
28:03Okay.
28:04Next...
28:06You're gonna have these three screws in the top.
28:11Hold the fire control group down.
28:23And these don't necessarily matter which one you start with as long as they all go in.
28:30Some of them go in a little easier than others.
28:33And then once you get one started...
28:35Like this one...
28:36This time it was the front screw that decided it wanted to go in first.
28:42Now the middle one's gonna cooperate.
28:47And the back one's gonna cooperate now.
28:54Okay.
28:57Now you wanna grab your two millimeter.
29:00I'm gonna put...
29:02These selectors back on.
29:12Now one thing to note.
29:13Make sure you put them back on the right direction.
29:16Sometimes the safety selector when you put it in.
29:19Or like the cam itself can be inverted.
29:22So make sure that you actually have it in the correct position.
29:27Otherwise...
29:28You're gonna run into issues.
29:30But before you complain about it.
29:33Try just rotating the cam all the way around.
29:36Or...
29:37And then reinstall the safety selector.
29:47There were a few times where I did that.
29:51So...
29:55There we go.
29:57Okay.
29:58And then we're just gonna put...
30:02Lower.
30:07Come on.
30:10There we go.
30:12Put your pins through.
30:12Again...
30:13It doesn't really matter which order you put them in.
30:15As long as you put them all in.
30:22And you're done.
30:25And...
30:25At this point...
30:26Just do a function check.
30:27Make sure everything's working.
30:28Head to the range.
30:29And enjoy.
30:29If you guys have any questions...
