00:54We are going to meet seven times Red Bull Cliff Diving champion,
00:57Rhianna Nifflin.

01:15Cliff Diving.
01:16It's quite an extreme sport, isn't it?
01:18How do you go from diving off the three-metre at home into the swimming pool,
01:23you know, to 30 metres?
01:26It definitely takes time.
01:28I began in the pool, one-metre, three-metre, ten-metre competing,
01:32and then, yeah, I gradually moved my way up.
01:35I went into entertainment diving,
01:36and then I saw the world of Red Bull Cliff Diving,
01:39and I said, I want to be there.
01:40Do you know how fast you're going by the time you get to the water?
01:44Because 30 metres, you'd pick up some speed, wouldn't you?
01:47Yeah, I believe it's about 70 to 75 k's an hour.
01:50Oh, my.
01:52So when you hit water at that speed,
01:54it doesn't necessarily feel like water, right?
01:56If you get it perfect, maybe.
01:58But otherwise, I feel like when you hit it that speed,
02:00it's like concrete.
02:01You hit the water pretty quick,
02:02and if it goes wrong, it can go very wrong.
02:04Like, there's no denying that,
02:06but I think as a diver, like,
02:09you understand that,
02:11and you do everything you can for it to not happen.
02:13Describe for us the moment when you get it right,
02:16that elation when you come back to the surface,
02:18and you go, I've got this.
02:20Because when you're standing on the platform
02:21and you're about to take that leap,
02:24there's so much going on like you.
02:26There's so much energy running through your body,
02:28like adrenaline, fear, emotion, focus.
02:34And then you hit the water and everything goes silent,
02:36and then you pop your head out of the water,
02:37and, you know, it's such a cool feeling.
02:40I can't explain it.
02:41I guess what I can say is doing a good dive
02:43makes you want to go up and do it again.
02:45The adrenaline.
02:46Yeah.
02:50I look at what you do,
02:51and there is no way you would ever catch me
02:54near a six-storey building and jumping off that.
02:56Like, in no way.
02:58Seven times world champion, guys.
03:00That is, like, it's an extraordinary feat.
03:04And you're still doing it.
03:05You're still obviously enthusiastic about it.
03:07You conquer that fear and you still keep going.
03:10It's remarkable.
03:11Yeah, that's it.
03:12I think, you know, conquering those fears
03:14and doing things under pressure,
03:16I'm sure you can relate to it.
03:18Like, it just makes you feel alive
03:19and it makes you just want to continue,
03:22continue doing it.
03:23At the moment, I just feel like such a privilege
03:25to have the opportunity to make a living
03:28out of doing something that I love.
03:29I can't see myself hanging up my swimsuit anytime soon.
03:32I can relate.
03:32I'm like, no, I'm surfing till the day I die.
03:35Rob also dabbled in a bit of diving when he was younger.
03:41Oh, Rob, that was terrible.
03:43He had so much more work to do.
03:45And I could tell he wasn't too happy
03:47with Rhiannon stealing all the attention.
03:50Like, I used to dive a bit when I was younger.
03:52Yeah.
03:53You know, there were a lot of people that did say
03:54that I should go and do it professionally.
03:57I didn't, but, you know,
04:00that was the opinion of a lot of people.
04:01They just thought, you're somewhat of a natural.
04:03I don't want to let it go.
04:05If we could go up the pool,
04:06maybe I'll show you a couple of things
04:07that I've been working on.
04:09Like, just to share information with each other,
04:11you know, share tips.
04:12Yeah, 100%.
04:13And techniques.
04:14Yeah, let's do it.
04:14Because you've probably got some things for me.

04:19I'm curious to see some of this.
04:20So have you actually had a look down from 27 metres, though?
04:25Well, when I was younger,
04:26I used to work on rooftops quite a lot.
04:28Okay.
04:28And waterproofing and stuff like that.
04:30And I would look over the edge, doing edge details.
04:32And you would often look over the edge.
04:34Sometimes you'd spit off the edge.
04:36All right.
04:37So what do you say I give you a couple of diving tips?
04:41Yeah.
04:41You've got to show me what's already in your repertoire.
04:44It's quite extensive.
04:45We can start with a simple jump if you want.
04:47Yeah.
04:48Simple back jump.
04:49Back jump.
04:50Yeah.
04:50So in diving, technically, without a flip first.
04:54You want to just make sure you're jumping backwards before you go for the flip.
04:59Yeah.
04:59I'm going to go up and then out.

05:06Oh, it's really shallow.

08:31People here are the most beautiful people in the world.

08:35I'm blown away.
08:36I mean, I've been to Fiji a lot of times in the past to surf, and I absolutely love it

08:40But Lamani is absolutely beautiful.
08:42I mean, you can see it behind me.
08:43There's not a breath of wind.
08:45Everyone in Fiji is so beautiful.
08:47They're so welcoming.
08:49And, I mean, tonight the sunset was amazing.
08:51Got to share a couple of drinks with, you know, the other hosts.

09:35They're so full of love and welcoming.
09:37And, they're just so proud of their place that they call home.
09:39Fiji is just magical.
09:42I'm so excited to be finally with the whole team in Fiji time.

09:55It's just all the ingredients for a perfect recipe to have the most amazing adventure.
09:59I mean, this place, wherever you look, is something really magical.

10:05But, really easy to fall in love with there.
10:06I love Fiji.
10:08I have had so many great trips here.
10:10And, I'm very excited about this week.
10:13I've got to tell you, it's been a while since I've been away with Miguel.

10:24But, after a day, his infectious character and the whole vibe of the bloke just really lifts it.

12:06up is just to see it done properly.

12:37I'm so excited to be here at Plantation Island. It's absolutely beautiful. This morning we're
12:42heading over to Tavarua Island, which is one of my favorite places in the world because
12:46it's so close to cloud break. I think I'm going to have my hands full, but let's see if I
12:50can
12:50show these blokes a thing or two about surf.
12:55Oh, I'm so tired of these. I can't even surf.
13:01You are joking, Sam.
13:07I'm watching the surf, Miguel.
13:10Oh, channel, channel!
13:12Oh, channel!
13:20Out of all the places in the world, one of the most exclusive surf resorts that you can
13:25stay at, and its proximity to cloud break is what makes it so special. It's literally just
13:30a short boat ride around the corner.
13:32What side of the island are you normally surfing?
13:34Cloud break's on the other side of the island, and that holds anywhere from two to three foot
13:38to 20 to 30 foot.
13:40I reckon there's a few little waves that we can take advantage of. Who wants to get amongst
13:43it?

13:52Oh, I wouldn't have had to hurt you!

13:55So when it comes to big wave surfing or surfing any sort of waves of consequence,
13:59you will be the jet ski driver. Safety is the most important thing.
14:03Not only is Stu putting you on the waves, but he's also rescuing at times.
14:08So my job isn't just to look good on the jet ski and the channel.
14:11That's 80%!
14:13The job is really to be there when stuff hits the fan.
14:17You know, when things go wrong or when things are inevitably going to happen,
14:21which is a surfer goes down in a heavy situation, jet ski drivers got to rip in
14:26before that next big wave hits them, pick them up, reach out that hand,
14:31rip them up onto the sled and get them out of harm's way.
14:34You've got to be selfless too though, yeah? Like put yourself at risk to save others.
14:38It's exhilarating to do a rescue. You want it. You know, you have to commit.
14:42How many seconds is that on average? Like you don't have a lot of time.
14:45It's really key that you get in there quickly.
14:48You'll see it when somebody falls on a big wave here at Cloud Break
14:51or big waves around the world, they'll travel 100 meters underwater in about 5-6 seconds.
14:57Wow!
14:59And struggling to come up.
15:00Without having like a skilled pilot, I mean, you're nothing really.
15:04I mean, even when it comes to toe surfing, right?
15:06Obviously the surfer on the wave does the work,
15:09but it's all up to the jet ski driver to really position you in the perfect spot.
15:13So when you let go of the rope, you're in the perfect position to get the best height of your
15:16life.
15:17So our job is we're actually helping the surfers when they know they have that confidence of us watching out
15:23for them on the side.
15:24It adds that extra level of comfort, brings their heart rate down even more.
15:28They know they got somebody watching out for them when they hit.
15:32So, I mean, I guess in the kitchen, your head chef and the sous chef, they got each other's back.
15:35Is that like the same relationship here?
15:38Really, you know, it's complete trust in the driver and their read on the line-up, their awareness, their preparation.
15:44And it's almost like, I don't know, brotherhood or a sisterhood and you really feel that camaraderie within the big
15:48wave world.
15:49So it's more of an intimate relationship because your life is essentially in their hands, you know.
15:54So, we're going to head out and if you guys are up for it, you want to have a go?

23:49very good yeah so would you like to order the Mahi Mahi what kind of pizza margarita
23:56I'm gonna let you decide but don't get this wrong all right okay we're in your
24:00hands difficult customer I like it okay ladies and gentlemen we're just gonna
24:04make a toni pepperoni pizza okay the secret of a really nice pizza is having a
24:08nice napoli sauce so you need to use the bag with the spoon to go all the way to
24:12the limits and this customer is a little bit difficult so we're probably gonna
24:16put a little bit more chili and spice things up I think I felt a little bit
24:21of attitude by the guy with Kelly hey what's his name Roberto yeah he was a
24:25little bit mean so you make sure you don't go all the way to the edges so
24:28you get a lovely crust a little bit of cheese don't want to graze it with the
24:32cheese just enough to cover all the spots and of course a really good pizza
24:38have like a really nice extra virgin olive oil that's for the very first time like
24:43the great Madonna say once it's very important yeah a little drizzle of this and
24:49can I use a little bit of the chilies yeah typical customers a little bit of chili just
24:54because I'm worthwhile and L'Oreal and some salt and pepper and the pepperoni I go
24:59straight to the oven yeah yeah scatter the toppings and let's put in the oven see
25:04what these guys think service but you know what they say you can handle the heat get
25:11out of the kitchen and these two guys it felt to me a little bit cheesy so I think a
25:16little bit of more cheese will go a long way just to settle the argument okay give me a couple
25:24of
25:24minutes I mean this restaurant really honored his name the seventh heaven you couldn't get more
25:32heaven than this I mean turquoise waters a beautiful pizza napoli style cooked to order people having fun the
25:40sound of the music the limbo competition the margaritas the tequila I mean this is a real heaven
25:49and for us at top notes it's so exciting to take over this kitchen just for a little bit not
25:54sure
25:55about the customers but pretty happy about the place put more chili in the pizza
26:02normally we put too many toppings in the kitchen you want to do a pizza but the secret of a
26:07nice pizza had a lovely
26:08bread crust with a lots of tomato sauce and just enough toppings to enjoy every single slice I mean
26:16you're looking for that beautiful caramelized cheese start working on that toasty amazing okay
26:22the secret is just when it's still real hot
26:40what the boys didn't realize is how much chili I added to the pizza
26:47the secret of a really hard costume man is just giving them a little bit of kindness killing them
26:52with flavor ladies and gentlemen a little bit of a pizza margarita oh wow okay a little bit of pepperoni
26:59this is where you are there yeah is that a spicy
27:04no how much chili did you use oh you get some a little bit of chili come on right over
