00:16You are supposed to beat Maryland this year in the Big Ten.
00:20But as a 10-and-a-half point favorite, they went down.
00:24They hardly led in that basketball game.
00:28They trailed almost the whole way.
00:30Now they try and take out a Purdue team coach who is off of one of their most important results
00:36of the season.
00:37A collapse led them into overtime against Nebraska, where they then needed to complete a comeback.
00:45They led by as many as 22 in that basketball game and somehow ended up playing overtime hoop.
00:52How do you feel about Iowa against Purdue today?
00:59Purdue is such an intriguing team, Kevin, because going into the season, we looked at the Purdue Boilermakers and saying,
01:05this could be the team, right?
01:07You figure you got your backer coming back with Fletcher Lawyer and obviously Braden Smith, Akuf to Trent, and then
01:15you obviously have Daniel Jacobson, Kaufman Wren.
01:17You look at the team and say, oh, this is the team.
01:20And they haven't played as such.
01:21And the reason why I sometimes get nervous about Purdue is I don't know if they know how to grind
01:29games out, right?
01:30They're very slow in offensive pace.
01:32So if they don't beat you in the half court and you're not knocked down shots, they can't beat you
01:37any other way.
01:39And then they blew the lead to Nebraska and they found their way to win.
01:42And then I'm saying, is that the game those kids needed to know that in a tight spot, in a
01:50tight game, they could get a win on the road.
01:55They have the offensive efficiency advantage versus Iowa.
01:58They have the defensive efficiency versus Iowa's offense is kind of neutral.
02:03But the thing that's kind of interesting about Purdue is their half court game, if they could just play the
02:09right way, they're going to be able to be successful.
02:13And Iowa doesn't rebound the ball.
02:16So this actually, to me, may be a pretty good matchup.
02:18Right now, I'm leaning and I haven't bet it yet.
02:21I'm looking at Purdue in a money line, maybe stealing another big road win.
02:26So I'm on the other side, coach.
02:28I bet Iowa on the money line here, I believe, plus 128 or so.
02:35These numbers are, of course, on the move a little bit this morning.
02:40I kind of had this one circled up a little bit here.
02:44As someone who bet Purdue against Nebraska, one of the reasons I felt Purdue needed to get that game is
02:50what awaited them.
02:51I thought the trip to Iowa was going to be difficult.
02:53And they then will be hosting Michigan, which could be another, I mean, it's definitely another really, really tough task.
03:00This is a Hawkeyes team who has not been able to grab one of these marquee wins yet.

03:10But most of them have been road games, right, at Michigan State, at Iowa State, at Purdue.
03:16The one home game against Illinois, they were certainly in the mix.
03:19They weren't able to close the door.
03:20I think we've learned this Purdue team is not as good as Illinois, and there's just a lot of evidence
03:25that this Purdue team is not like an elite top 1% team.
