00:22ДИНАМИЧНАЯ МУЗЫКА
00:43A sense of anticipation is building here at the beast of all F1 tracks.
00:49The spirit of Suzuka is stirring and the drivers are psyching themselves up
00:53to muscle their cars around this unforgiving figure of eight
00:58where legends are forged and heroes are made.
01:06I've grown up dreaming of being able to drive this circuit.
01:11Yeah, radio check.
01:14Sector 1 is for sure the best part.
01:16It's where the car comes alive.
01:18Radio check.
01:20Radio check.
01:22This is one of the best tracks in the world.
01:27This track is a very big challenge.
01:32It's an unbelievable track to drive at.
01:38There's no weak corners.
01:40They're all fun.
01:47The coolest track of the car is here, so it's going to be really exciting to race around here.
01:52Feels incredible when you're in quality and you're pushing into the limits.
01:55I don't think you can ever ruin this track.
02:00It was Kimi Antonelli who topped the third and final practice session here in Suzuka,
02:06two and a half tenths ahead of his teammate.
02:10Championship leader George Russell will be looking to secure a second Grand Prix poll of the year today.
02:18So, is it a straight fight between the Mercedes boys, or will Oscar Piastri, or indeed others, have a say
02:24in it?
02:29Well, a very warm welcome to the pit lane here in Suzuka.
02:32Jenson Button and Bernie Collins alongside me.
02:36Suzuka, in the spring, cherry blossom season.
02:39I can think of a few better places to be right now.
02:41How does it feel to you, particularly as a previous win around here, to come back?
02:46It's always special.
02:47Suzuka is a pretty amazing place.
02:50Japan itself is fantastic, but this circuit, the way that it feels when you're driving it as a racing driver,
02:57but also the atmosphere, the Japanese fans are so supportive.
03:01Yeah, it's up there with the best of them, isn't it?
03:03And there really is a sense of excitement to see how the new regs will impact racing here.
03:09What have you made of the season so far?
03:11Okay, only two Grand Prix and a sprint to go on, but what are your thoughts?
03:15Yeah, I think we were really apprehensive about the new regulation, how it was going to come in.
03:19I think initially the cars were more reliable through testing than we thought,
03:22and then since that, it's really sort of fallen away a little bit, the reliability, I mean.
03:26I think the racing has lucked amazing.
03:29The first two races being at those, way more overtake than we've had before.
03:33Testing the drivers, pushing them very much in terms of much lower downforce cars.
03:37It's not as easy to get through all of the corners that they have been previously,
03:41and there's a more technical challenge as well.
03:43So it is really testing the drivers up and down the Petlian to get the most out of it.
03:48Qualifying, I think, we need a little bit of work at.
03:50That's what they're trying here today in order to improve the show and the test of the drivers in that.
03:55But the racing, I think, has been exceptional.
03:57Just tell us what those tweaks are, because there has been some criticism of qualifying in this new era.
04:03So what have they done about it?
04:05Yeah, so the criticism has largely been that because of how they're managing the battery through the lap,
04:10they're having to, at the end of straight, take-off speed a little bit, the battery starts to recharge a
04:15little bit.
04:15That brings down the speed end of straight, and that makes the braking for some of the corners,
04:20actually in many ways, trickier for the driver, but from a lower speed.
04:24So we don't like to see that in Qualifying.
04:26We don't like to see the management, let's say, of the car through Qualifying.
04:29Again, we want a more flat-out lap today.
04:31They're tweaking the amount of energy they can use around the lap in order to try and bring a little
04:35bit of that back.
04:36Good that straightaway we're trying to try and improve that bit of the show,
04:40but I think the race tomorrow will be good again.
04:42Now, for anyone who is joining us for the first time this morning,
04:45Jensen, what have we learned from the weekend so far?
04:49The Mercedes are very fast, and that these cars are very fast around here.
04:54You know, any car that can get into the 1-minute 20s is exceptionally quick.
04:59I don't think I ever raced a car that could get into the 1-minute 20s around here, so very
05:03quick.
05:03They're making their time up in a different way to last year,
05:07but it looks like they have a real handle of how the deployment is with these cars,
05:11and it's really, really fun watching them on track.
05:13I've been on track watching through Turn 5 and 6.
05:16And you loved it.
05:16It's so edgy, the car.
05:18They're all moving around in very different ways from each other,
05:21all very unique in their balance, and it's really fun to watch.
05:25Hopefully, it's the same for the drivers.
05:26I mean, reports so far suggest that they are enjoying themselves,
05:30some more than others, you'd have to say.
05:32So only two rounds in,
05:35but let's have a look at how the standings are shaping up.
05:40So George Russell has started the year in fine form.
05:42He has a four-point advantage over his young teammate, Kimi Antonelli.
05:46Then it's the Ferrari pairing of Leclerc and Hamilton.
05:49One point separating them.
05:51Oli Behrmann is enjoying a terrific run.
05:53He's on 17 in fifth,
05:55with world champion Lando Norris two points behind him.
05:58Five points then separate Gasly in seventh,
06:01down to rookie Lindblad in tenth.
06:05Oscar Piastri is yet to start a Grand Prix in 2026,
06:09but does have three points from the sprint in China.
06:12Carlos Sainz managed to hustle his car home in ninth in Shanghai,
06:17bagging a brace of points in the process.
06:19Ocon, through to Stroll, yet to get on the board.
06:24Well, Mercedes are out in front on 98 points,
06:2831 ahead of Ferrari.
06:30McLaren, despite their double DNS in China,
06:33are still in third on 18.
06:35Behrmann's heroics have secured all of Haas' points,
06:38meaning they're up to a lofty fourth on 17.
06:41Red Bull are equal on 12, with their sister team racing Bulls.
06:45Fairing worse with these new regs are Williams and Aston Martin.
06:50So, in this new era of Formula One,
06:53there's a new hierarchy,
06:54and Rachel takes a closer look.
06:57A big regulation change will always bring about winners and losers in its early stages,
07:02as teams find out whether their interpretation works,
07:05or whether they're facing a long, tough season.
07:08Mercedes looked strong straight out of the box at testing,
07:11and so it's proved, with a 1-2 in both Grand Prix so far,
07:14and a 31-point lead in the Constructors' Championship already.
07:17We did it! We did it! We did it, man!
07:20Ferrari are currently the only team mounting a challenge to Mercedes,
07:24but while they start races strongly,
07:26they struggle to maintain that challenge for the whole length of the Grand Prix.
07:30Haas are on 17 points,
07:32all of which have been scored by this man,
07:34Oli Behrmann.
07:35He's finished in the points in both Grand Prix and the Sprint,
07:38but his team-mate says they need to be wary.
07:40We were fighting with cars that we couldn't fight last year with.
07:44There's a lot of positive on that side,
07:46but, you know, the development race is going very fast,
07:50and people keep bringing things every single race, like we do,
07:54so we need to keep pushing to be able to maintain this level of performance.
07:59Similarly, Pierre Gasly has scored all but one of Alpine's points
08:03as they make the most of having the Mercedes power unit in their car.
08:06We've showed some decent potential, you know, in Australia,
08:10and China was definitely better.
08:11There's still quite a few things which we need to get on top of,
08:14and that's why it sort of gives me, like, good optimism
08:17in the potential that we have as a team.
08:21Cadillac are seeing the benefits of their Ferrari power
08:23as the newest team in the sport saw both their cars finish the race in China,
08:27but now the hard work starts as they look for consistent performance.
08:31They're not alone.
08:32McLaren could well do with some consistency too.
08:35They only have one Grand Prix finish across both their drivers so far this season,
08:39with neither able to start the last race in China.
08:42Electrical issues connected to their power unit were the cause,
08:45and Andreas Stella admits his drivers are in a tough moment.
08:49We are on a steep learning curve when it comes to getting the most out of the power unit,
08:55which is positive, and we are working very well with HPP
08:59to make sure that we get on top of all the potential,
09:03extracting all the potential that is available in the power unit.
09:06Six points behind them are Red Bull in fifth,
09:10level on points with their junior team racing bulls.
09:12Max Verstappen has described this year's RB22 as incredibly tough to drive,
09:17and that every lap is a fight.
09:20You know, China was not a nice weekend for us,
09:24so I hope that that for a while will be, let's say, our worst weekend.
09:29Williams' car is overweight,
09:31and only a Herculean effort from Carlos Sainz to finish ninth in China
09:35has given them any points this year.
09:37Honestly, we have a lot of weight to lose.
09:39I think it's no secret.
09:41Would it be a good car?
09:43I think no.
09:44I think we can do better.
09:45I think, apart from the weight,
09:47I believe this team has the potential to design and produce a car
09:51that is much better than what we've done for the start of the year.
09:54And they're level with Audi,
09:56who also have just one point's finish so far.
09:59While Aston Martin are yet to finish a race,
10:02their car is suffering vibrations so severe
10:05that the drivers are physically unable to complete a race distance.
10:09In China, Fernando Alonso was seen taking his hands
10:12off the steering wheel on the straights.
10:14After this race, there's a five-week break until the Miami Grand Prix,
10:18and for some, it can't come soon enough
10:20as they all try and catch up to Mercedes.
10:26I thought George was going to overtape Rach then at the end there.
10:29She was sort of speeding her head.
10:31Let's start with a good news story
10:32because some are coping better than others
10:34in this new era of Formula One.
10:36Oli Behrman.
10:37How impressed have you been with him?
10:38We talk a lot about it being the thinking driver's era.
10:42Clearly, he's got the bandwidth to cope.
10:43He has, and I think we saw a massive shift with Oli
10:47mid-sort of last year, mid-25.
10:50He's always had the speed, but it was the consistency he was lacking,
10:53and there were a few incidents in there as well.
10:55But ever since then, he's been lightning,
10:57and it's been such a pleasure to watch.
11:00He's so young still.
11:01We can't forget how young he is in this sport
11:03and also just young on this planet.
11:05He doesn't seem it, does he?
11:07He's very mature.
11:08He's so mature, yeah.
11:08He's screwed on, and he's willing to learn.
11:10He's wanting to be better,
11:11and I interviewed him, which we'll see tomorrow.
11:13And it was really nice to see inside his mind, if you like,
11:18and his attitude towards F1
11:20and the family environment that he needs around him.
11:23And, yeah, what an amazing individual.
11:25I think he's going to go a long way, that one.
11:27Yeah, he's a very kind person as well.
11:29And do you buy into the theory
11:32that he is the natural heir to Lewis Hamilton
11:34as and when the multiple world champion
11:36hangs up his race suit?
11:37Oh, I didn't know where you were going to go with that.
11:39But, yeah, you know, he does have a lot of potential.
11:41And we've seen that, you know, from all he came in.
11:43And as Jensen said, the speed's always been there.
11:45You know, when he got in that Ferrari,
11:46for Carlos it was, when he was off injured or sick.
11:51Appendicitis.
11:52Yeah, appendicitis.
11:52He was straight away, you know, on the PS
11:54and had a massive performance that weekend.
11:57And I think we've continued to see that for him.
11:59We've continued to see him grow.
12:00And, you know, hopefully the team can give him the car
12:04that allows him to show his potential.
12:06And then that's the step to move to, hopefully,
12:09one of the top cars.
12:10Yeah, I mean, to put it, P7 on your debut for Ferrari,
12:14at a track like Saudi was something else.
12:16It really was.
12:17Right, let's talk now about some that are struggling, Jensen.
12:20Aston Martin.
12:23I think the worrying thing for all of their fans
12:25and, indeed, all of their teammates,
12:26it doesn't seem like there's an end in sight.
12:29It feels like this could potentially be quite a long timeline
12:32to recover.
12:33Remind those watching what their struggles are at the moment.
12:36There's always an end.
12:39It's just a matter of time.
12:41And for me, the exciting thing about Aston Martin
12:44is that, you know, Adrian Newey is there.
12:47I never got to drive one of Adrian Newey's cars,
12:49but I raced against a lot of them,
12:50and most of them beat me.
12:51He knows what he's doing, but it's so fresh.
12:54It's so new.
12:55He hasn't been there for very long at Aston Martin.
12:57Also, the partnership between Aston Martin
12:59and Honda is very young.
13:01It takes a minute.
13:04And we aren't very patient people,
13:06you know, people in Formula One.
13:08We want to see change immediately,
13:10but it takes so much time,
13:11especially when you're racing against teams
13:13like Mercedes McLaren and Ferrari,
13:15such big teams that have been here for decades.
13:18It's very difficult for them,
13:20but they will find their way,
13:22I am sure of it,
13:23and also with the leadership of Lauren Stroll.
13:26Yeah, and combining potentially with that leadership,
13:29Jonathan Wheatley has just left Audi
13:32with immediate effect.
13:33Now, we do understand that is for personal reasons.
13:36Is he a natural fit, do you believe,
13:39for Aston Martin to be reunited with Adrian Newey,
13:42who he spent many a successful year with at Red Bull?
13:46Yeah, he is a name that's been thrown around
13:49alongside that Aston Martin team
13:50and potentially a fit.
13:51Now, everyone's denying all rumours at this stage,
13:54as they always will.
13:55We don't know the reason that he left Audi as it was,
13:58but that's kind of quite early in the season
14:00in a new team.
14:02I think that for Aston Martin's side,
14:04there has been a lot of teams at the top
14:06over the last few years,
14:09and that's potentially not the best way
14:12to get on top of the issues
14:14that they're having with Honda.
14:15They need a bit of stability,
14:16they need clear direction
14:18on what they're going to improve
14:19and how, where they're going to spend their money
14:21and their budget
14:21in order to progress the car forward,
14:24what's going to be the override
14:26and need in the engine development
14:28or chassis development,
14:29you know, where's it going to go?
14:30So they need some clear direction
14:32and I'm not necessarily sure
14:34that regardless of who it is,
14:37that changing the people at the top
14:38is good for stability at this stage
14:40and where they're at.
14:42Well, we wish them well.
14:43Much-loved team in the paddock
14:45and huge congratulations
14:46to Fernando Alonso
14:47on becoming a father for the first time.
14:50Well, the clear frontrunners
14:51in this new era
14:52are, of course, Mercedes.
14:55And if you look at the podium here in China,
14:57it was a very special one for the team
14:59because their drivers were up there
15:01for Kimi's maiden win
15:03with his race engineer, Bono,
15:05plus his old pal, Lewis Hamilton,
15:07who clearly has rediscovered his mojo.
15:09Let's hear from them now.
15:10Yeah, I still need to, like, this season
15:12get two, three more,
15:16but, you know, in a short term.
15:19But, of course, you know,
15:21I really want to be in this fight
15:24because we have a great car
15:25and great opportunity.
15:26of course, still, definitely,
15:30if there's one thing that I'm lacking
15:32is experience still
15:33because it's only my second year
15:36and experience is something
15:38that you cannot buy.
15:39But I'm going to try to be ready
15:42for anything and, you know,
15:44for every kind of situation
15:46just to be able to put myself
15:48in the best position as possible
15:51in case the opportunity presents.
15:53So I know we have a really good car
15:56and I'm going to try
15:58to maximize every result
16:00and hopefully this weekend
16:01is going to be a good one.
16:02I mean, it's race two of 22 races,
16:05so I'm not even thinking anything
16:08about a championship.
16:10My relationship with Kimi
16:11is very good,
16:12the same as it's been
16:12since we've been teammates
16:14and I see no reason
16:15for that to change.
16:17You know, he's a really fantastic driver.
16:19He's been super quick
16:21last year, this year.
16:25So it's not something
16:27I've even given consideration to.
16:29It's just focus on myself,
16:30put the helmet on,
16:32drive as fast as possible
16:33and try and win the race.
16:36Well, George being calm
16:38and complimentary
16:38of his young teammate there,
16:40do you believe that their
16:41intra-team rivalry
16:43will become a theme this season?
16:45Possibly.
16:45I mean, you never know, right?
16:47You know, you look at George
16:48and he seems very level-headed,
16:49very confident,
16:50but who knows
16:51when you're in a fight
16:52for a world championship,
16:52everything changes.
16:54Yeah, it really does.
16:55But it's great for us
16:57as lovers, you know,
16:58lovers of this sport
17:00that we have two drivers
17:01in the Mercedes
17:02that are competitive
17:03and they both want a race now.
17:05It's exciting, isn't it?
17:06I mean, the competitor in him
17:08trying to read that body language,
17:09clearly being very supportive
17:11of Kimi,
17:11but he's going to want
17:12to get a win back
17:13under his belt, isn't he?
17:14He's going to want to
17:15reassert himself
17:16at the top of the pecking order.
17:17Of course he is.
17:18And he needs,
17:19he wants,
17:19both of those drivers
17:20want to be leading
17:21in the points
17:22as soon as quickly
17:23as they can.
17:24What we're seeing
17:24is that Kimi is pushing George.
17:26He's not letting George off lightly
17:27at any situation.
17:28He's ready to pick up
17:29the points.
17:30And actually,
17:31Kimi has been arguably faster
17:33so far this weekend.
17:34So it will be interesting
17:36to see in qualifying now
17:37if George can get the upper hand.
17:39And sometimes within these teams,
17:40there's little games
17:41to be played
17:41where one driver
17:42might not show everything
17:43in a practice session.
17:45We always think
17:46it's inter-team rivalry,
17:48but sometimes it's
17:48the two drivers
17:50and the one team going,
17:51I don't want to show them
17:52that I can break
17:52X amount later
17:53into that corner
17:54or take X amount more speed.
17:56So let's see in qualifying
17:58when they properly
17:59put everything on the board
18:00what it looks like.
18:01And of course,
18:01someone else looking
18:02to knock them off the perch
18:03will be McLaren.
18:04But as we have seen,
18:05there have been many
18:06reliability issues
18:07suffered by the customer team
18:08of Mercedes.
18:09So we'll keep
18:10a close eye on that.
18:11Okay, join us
18:12after the break
18:13where we will catch up
18:14with Isaac Hadja
18:15out on track.
18:18Isaac, we're here
18:18in the S's.
18:19We've got the
18:20Carlos Sainz Peloton
18:22coming up.
18:23They're showing us
18:24how uphill it is.
18:25It is uphill
18:26and headwind.
18:27And headwind.
18:28That's good.
18:28It's a good win.
18:29It's a good win, right?
18:30This is what you want.
18:30around this track
18:31because you get
18:32the tailwind
18:32down both
18:33very long straights
18:35and then the headwind
18:36through the high-speed
18:36section.
18:37So that's the
18:37faster way.
18:39Faster win around the lap.
18:40That's the good win.
18:47Welcome back to
18:49Suzuka.
18:50A track that seems
18:50tailor-made for
18:52Max Verstappen.
18:52The master
18:53of qualifying here.
18:55Four consecutive
18:56poles.
18:57Let's remind ourselves
18:58how he did it.
19:00Don't leave me
19:01hanging.
19:02Yay!
19:09The Formula One
19:10car around here
19:11is unbelievable.
19:13When you're on low
19:14fuel, these cars
19:15really come alive.
19:19Especially in
19:19qualifying, when you
19:20can really push it
19:21to the limit.
19:23Bestaffan takes pole!
19:27I think that was
19:28one of the great
19:29qualifying Latina
19:30in F1 history.
19:32It brought a smile
19:33on my face
19:34while driving.
19:36One driver stood
19:37head and shoulders
19:38above all others.
19:40They know how good
19:42Max is with that
19:43type of car.
19:44That's why he's
19:44much of the fleet,
19:46tidy, and pacey.
19:48He's put in Max
19:50efforts.
19:50What's Max return?
19:52Me in the day
19:56walking side by side
20:07walk inside my side.
20:09That's his
20:10inside the pole position.
20:11Yes!
20:12Let's go!
20:15Only he can do it.
20:16A magical moment
20:17for everyone here.
20:18That was one of his
20:19best laps, I think,
20:20young qualifying ever.
20:26Oh, wow, you've grown.
20:28Were you talking to
20:28Yuki Tsunoda earlier?
20:30That was so cute.
20:31I mean, honestly,
20:32come on.
20:33Adorable.
20:34I can't imagine
20:34walking around the
20:35paddock with a crash
20:35arm on all day.
20:36They're quite heavy,
20:37those things.
20:38You only used to
20:38leave it on when
20:39you were grumpy.
20:40You didn't want us
20:40to talk to you.
20:41Yeah, it's a race
20:41and drive a thing.
20:42Yeah.
20:43But no, it's just,
20:44yeah, it's adorable.
20:45Absolutely awesome.
20:45Talking of awesome,
20:47Max Verstappen
20:48around here.
20:49Tell us about
20:50your sort of feedback
20:51on that sublime lap
20:53last year.
20:54Where does it rank
20:55for you amongst
20:56the quali greats?
20:57It was extraordinary,
20:59wasn't it?
21:00It's one of these
21:01things, which is a
21:02great pub debate.
21:03I feel like that's
21:04an hour-long podcast.
21:05But I would say
21:06it was the equal
21:07best pole of last year.
21:09I actually think
21:10Silverstone was just
21:11as good because
21:13it caught us by
21:13surprise, low downforce.
21:16Yeah, I mean,
21:17four poles in a row,
21:18four wins in a row.
21:20He is pretty special
21:21around here.
21:22I suppose the big
21:22question is, though,
21:23Jensen, in this new
21:24era of regulations,
21:26can he still bend
21:27Suzuka to his will?
21:29I don't think
21:30for pole position.
21:31But as far as we've
21:33heard with how
21:34they've tweaked
21:34the regulations
21:36or tweaked the
21:37amount of megajoules
21:38they're going to have
21:39in qualifying,
21:40it will help the
21:41drivers that push
21:42and are aggressive
21:42and want to take risks,
21:43which is what we want
21:44to see.
21:45And is that what
21:46this track is all about?
21:47Yes.
21:47It's so unforgiving.
21:49Narrow, twisty,
21:50most of it's
21:51mid and high speed.
21:52There's no runoff
21:53area, really.
21:54It's, yeah,
21:55there's always
21:56big risk,
21:57and that's what
21:57gets the blood pumping.
21:59You describe it
22:00so well,
22:01and yet you went
22:01out on it
22:02with Isaac Hatcher
22:03a bit earlier this week.
22:04I did.
22:05Max Verstappen's
22:05teammate.
22:06Let's have a look.
22:19Zach, back to
22:20Suzuka, a track
22:21that you say
22:21is your favourite.
22:23How much do you
22:23enjoy driving here?
22:24More than any
22:25other track.
22:27Maybe Monaco
22:27is up there
22:29on one quality lab,
22:30but honestly,
22:31it's where I have
22:31the most fun here.
22:32What is it that
22:33makes it special for you?
22:34No, that's the thing.
22:34It's just like,
22:36obviously,
22:37it starts strong
22:37with the S's,
22:38but then it
22:39still gets good
22:40as you go.
22:41Like, honestly,
22:41my favourite corner
22:42section is
22:43Degner 1 and 2,
22:44but we'll get there.
22:45Like, the hairpin
22:45is very interesting.
22:47There's many lines
22:48you can take.
22:49Poon is very challenging
22:50and the big breaking
22:52final chicane
22:53is very hard.
22:56Isaac, we're here
22:57in the S's.
22:58We've got the
22:59Carlos Sainz peloton
23:00coming up.
23:01They're showing us
23:02how uphill it is.
23:03It is uphill
23:04and headwind.
23:05And headwind.
23:06That's good.
23:06It's a good win.
23:07It's a good win, right?
23:08This is what you want?
23:09around this track
23:09because you get
23:10the tailwind
23:11down both
23:12very long straights
23:13and then the headwind
23:14through the high-speed
23:15section,
23:15so that's the
23:16faster way.
23:17Faster win
23:18around the lap.
23:18That's a good win.
23:19What's it going to be
23:20like this year?
23:21Obviously, the cars
23:21are different
23:21to what you had
23:22last year.
23:23Actually, it's a lot
23:24of fun.
23:24You can play
23:24with the car
23:25even more.
23:27It's less on the rail,
23:28so it's pretty good.
23:31How far ahead
23:32are you thinking
23:32when you come
23:34into the SSO?
23:35Honestly, what you
23:35do basically
23:37in turn three
23:38is going to have
23:39an impact
23:40on what you get
23:41through the rest
23:42of the section.
23:43So you're constantly
23:44playing with the pitch
23:45of the car
23:45through the section.
23:47That's probably why
23:48it's the most challenging
23:49and the most fun
23:50for the drivers.
23:51And it leads on
23:51to Degna,
23:52your favorite bit.
23:52Let's go find that.
23:53Degna is amazing.
23:54Tell us why.
23:55Degna 1 is just
23:56so it's probably
23:58the highest speed
23:58corner of the calendar.
24:00One up.
24:00You come from
24:01a super high speed
24:02corner and you go,
24:04you exit on those
24:06curves and everything
24:06is moving around
24:07and suddenly you have
24:08to lock in
24:09and pick your braking
24:10points correctly
24:12for Degna 2.
24:13So it's,
24:14I don't know why,
24:15but it's just the flow
24:16of that section
24:16is my favorite
24:17of the calendar.
24:18And the wind
24:19is in a good direction
24:20at the moment,
24:21isn't it?
24:21Like right now,
24:22last year it was
24:22the opposite direction,
24:23so it was making
24:24the entry of Degna 2
24:25super oversteering.
24:27Whereas right now,
24:28if I had to drive now,
24:29I could actually send it.
24:31So put us in the cockpit
24:32because you've come
24:33through here,
24:34you've used up
24:34all of your battery pack
24:35on the run up there.
24:37You've still got to get
24:38the braking right.
24:40How much are you
24:40thinking about harvesting
24:41and what do you need
24:42down the staff industry
24:43right here?
24:44With the approaching
24:45speed from this year,
24:46probably you can't
24:46brake as hard
24:47as we used to be.
24:48The car is not
24:49as loaded,
24:50so I think front locking
24:51will be an issue
24:52this weekend.
24:53You're going to see
24:53plenty of cars
24:54going off.
24:55This is a car
24:56where you still
24:56make the lap time.
24:58I remember last year
24:59I kind of messed this up.
25:01You know,
25:02being brave
25:03in the high speed
25:03is not as rewarding
25:05as being good here.
25:07So you want to make
25:08the lap time here.
25:09The tyres are tired.
25:10It's a very tricky one.
25:11Is it still the best
25:12overtaking opportunity
25:13on the track?
25:15Definitely.
25:16But now with
25:16what we're playing
25:18with this year,
25:19we're probably going
25:20to see some good
25:21moves around
25:22from the outside
25:23of turn one,
25:25130R,
25:26probably even
25:27in a two-spoon.
25:28I think because
25:29the deployment game
25:29is going to be so
25:30different between cars,
25:31you're going to see
25:32overtakings where
25:34it's never happened
25:35before, probably.
25:36So last year,
25:37by example,
25:38was battle ending,
25:40let's say,
25:40because you get
25:41overtaken,
25:42two overtakes back
25:42is impossible.
25:43now you know
25:44you can have
25:45another go.
25:46So it's never,
25:47the battle is never
25:49really over,
25:50which is actually nice.
25:51Thank you very much.
25:52Good luck for the weekend.
25:53Thank you for your time.
25:53Thank you.
25:57So the big question is,
25:59Karun,
25:59do you believe
26:00that Red will have
26:01finally broken
26:01the second seat curse?
26:04He's looked pretty
26:05decent so far,
26:06hasn't he?
26:06You know,
26:06he was qualified
26:07well in Melbourne
26:08this weekend.
26:09He was only a couple
26:10tenths off max.
26:11So, yeah,
26:13fingers crossed for him
26:13because, you know,
26:15the thing is,
26:15the drivers that have
26:16gone through it,
26:17Ricciardo,
26:19Albon,
26:20Gasly,
26:20Tsunoda,
26:21Lawson,
26:21they've all been good
26:22in other cars.
26:23They've all gone on
26:24or been in other cars
26:25where they look strong,
26:26but they haven't been
26:27able to fight against
26:28Max in that era
26:30between 2020
26:31and last year.
26:33So maybe the new rules
26:34will just balance it
26:35a little bit.
26:36New rules,
26:37potentially different
26:37culture as well
26:38at Red Bull
26:39now that
26:40Helmut Marko's left
26:41and you've got
26:42a new boss.
26:43Yeah,
26:44I think that they put
26:45a lot of pressure
26:46on youngsters coming in.
26:47Max is just one
26:48of those guys
26:48that can handle
26:49the pressure,
26:49whatever.
26:51Whereas most of us
26:52can't and I think
26:53mentally it's always
26:53really tough
26:54when you think
26:55I've got six months
26:55to prove myself
26:56and then I could
26:57be out of my seat.
26:58So it's tough.
26:59But yeah,
26:59so the atmosphere
27:00and the team
27:00is probably different.
27:01The car,
27:01the way that they are
27:02working might be
27:03different as well.
27:03Max was able to put
27:04it on the line
27:04with the older cars
27:06when there was
27:06ground effects
27:07and nobody else
27:07could really do that
27:09because they'd be
27:10backwards into a wall.
27:11So yes,
27:11it's opened up
27:12a little bit
27:12and it's nice
27:13to see Hajar
27:13pushing that.
27:14And how much
27:15do you think
27:15it's helped Hajar
27:16that he has got
27:18history with Mechias?
27:19Like they know
27:19each other very well.
27:20They've worked together.
27:21It's a bit of a
27:22confidence boost
27:22for him,
27:23isn't it?
27:23Yeah,
27:24it must be.
27:25You know,
27:25I think as you said
27:26it is a very
27:27different team now.
27:28Christian Horne
27:28is gone
27:28and the Marco
27:29is gone.
27:30This is the first
27:31year fully
27:32of the Laurent Mechies
27:33era of Red Bull.
27:35And I think
27:36it is perhaps
27:37a less high-pressure
27:38environment
27:39because it didn't
27:40work, did it?
27:41You know,
27:42finally on the pressure
27:42giving Liam Lawson
27:43two races
27:44to prove himself
27:45in the seat.
27:47That's never
27:47going to work.
27:48So I hope
27:49for Isaac's sake
27:50that this carries on.
27:52They don't need him
27:52to beat Max,
27:53let's be clear.
27:54They need him to be
27:55a tenth or two
27:56behind Max
27:56and just make sure
27:57that on a day
27:58where Max has an issue
28:00or something happens
28:01he's there to be second
28:03or, you know,
28:04just be right behind him
28:06and so far
28:06he's been there.
28:07They need both
28:07scoring points.
28:08First of all,
28:09that would be nice.
28:11Right?
28:11Well, let's hear
28:12from the team boss
28:12now, shall we?
28:13Laurent Mechies
28:14is with Rachel.
28:16Well, Laurent,
28:16thank you very much
28:17for joining me.
28:17We've just seen
28:18Max's phenomenal lap
28:19from last year.
28:20Where did you
28:21watch that from?
28:22It was a spectacular
28:24lap last year.
28:25I watched it
28:25from a different pitfall
28:26obviously with our
28:27friends at Racing Bulls
28:29and, yeah,
28:30I think the whole paddock
28:31was very impressed
28:33last year
28:33with that lap.
28:341.5 seconds off
28:36in that session today.
28:37It's unlikely,
28:38obviously,
28:38he's going to be able
28:38to repeat that here.
28:41What's fundamentally
28:42going on?
28:43What are the fundamental
28:43issues you're dealing with?
28:45We have a lot of work
28:46to do ahead of us.
28:48As always,
28:49it's never one single
28:49reason,
28:50but I think, you know,
28:51there is no denying
28:51that in terms of
28:52overall performance,
28:53we are quite far
28:54from the leading guys,
28:56so a lot of work
28:57to do.
28:57We have probably
28:58made our life
29:00a bit more complicated
29:01this weekend
29:01with some additional
29:02issues in us
29:04being able to extract
29:05the potential
29:05of the car,
29:06but I think it would be
29:07wrong to hide
29:08behind that.
29:09I think the overall
29:10performance is not yet
29:11at the level
29:12of the top guys
29:13and we have some work
29:15to do on being able
29:16to extract more
29:17out of our package.
29:18So, as you can see,
29:19quite a lot to do,
29:20but, you know,
29:20we need to use
29:21every session
29:22to improve
29:25our understanding
29:26of our limitations
29:26and that's how
29:27we will address it
29:28with the development
29:29of the car.
29:29How big is this task
29:30compared to what
29:31you did last year?
29:32Because you managed
29:32to turn it around
29:33last year very well.
29:35You know,
29:35it's early days
29:36this season.
29:37You know,
29:37obviously the gaps
29:38are bigger than last year,
29:40but equally the potential
29:42for development
29:42is bigger than last year.
29:44So, I think
29:45in the same way
29:46that we have approached
29:46it at the time,
29:47you know,
29:47it's important first
29:49to understand
29:49what you are trying
29:50to address
29:51as the limitations
29:52and then after,
29:53I'm sure that
29:54the development race
29:56will start
29:57and hopefully
29:59we can make some ground.
30:00You mentioned
30:00the development race.
30:01It's a really impressive
30:02upgrade package
30:03you've bought this weekend.
30:04You've really narrowed
30:04down those side pods
30:05and it looks like
30:06the powertrain
30:07is performing really well.
30:08So, what is it?
30:09Is it a case of balance
30:10and grip?
30:10What are you chasing
30:11do you feel right now?
30:12You know,
30:13it's at 360.
30:14You know,
30:14I think it will be
30:16the wrong answer
30:17to try to ping-pong
30:19it to one element.
30:19I think we are missing
30:21overall performance
30:22in many different areas,
30:24probably in all
30:25single areas.
30:26It's not a surprise.
30:27It's not oppositions.
30:29We are happy with
30:30and, you know,
30:30we would prefer to be
30:32up there with the guys
30:33but I think
30:35we have to remember
30:36that, you know,
30:37we pushed very late last year
30:38and the project is very new
30:40and for sure
30:42not only
30:43we are lacking
30:44overall performance
30:44right now
30:45but also
30:45we are unable
30:47to extract everything
30:48we have.
30:48So, a lot of work to do
30:50but it's always
30:50through these difficult moments
30:52that you build
30:54effectively
30:54the foundations
30:55of your next steps
30:57and, you know,
30:58full trust
30:58for everyone
30:59in Milton Keynes
31:00that is pushing
31:01very hard
31:01to turn the situation around.
31:02Is it too heavy
31:03the car at the moment?
31:05Every area
31:05needs to improve.
31:07And just finally
31:08from me,
31:08Max seems very philosophical
31:09and patient
31:10right now.
31:10Are you confident
31:11that you'll be able
31:12to deliver a car soon
31:13that he and Isaac
31:13can use
31:14to challenge
31:14the frontrunners?
31:15You know,
31:16nobody is happy
31:17with where we are
31:18and, you know,
31:19we are not going
31:20to see many,
31:21many happy faces.
31:22We are pushing
31:22each other
31:23the drivers,
31:24the teams,
31:25everyone back in
31:25Milton Keynes
31:26and, of course,
31:27it's not a position
31:29we are happy
31:30to stay for very long
31:31but, you know,
31:31equally,
31:32we know
31:33the amount
31:34of development
31:35coming is significant
31:37and we equally
31:38know that
31:38we have more
31:40to be able
31:40to extract
31:41from the package.
31:42Appreciate your time.
31:43Go well this afternoon.
31:44Thank you very much.
31:44Thanks, Laurent.
31:47Well, Jensen,
31:47performance lacking there
31:49but how impressed
31:50have you been
31:50with their power unit
31:51development?
31:52Which you have to say
31:52a good chunk of credit
31:54has to go to
31:55Christian Horner
31:55for that.
31:56Yeah, I think so.
31:57You know,
31:58building a power unit
31:59from scratch,
31:59I guess it was
32:01carry over a little bit
32:02from what they had
32:03last year
32:03with Honda
32:04in terms of the personnel
32:06but, no,
32:07it's really impressive
32:08and you wouldn't say
32:09that's one of their
32:10weaker areas right now.
32:11You'd say the car
32:12itself mechanically
32:14and aerodynamically
32:14maybe is the area
32:15they need to work
32:16on harder
32:16but, no,
32:17it's really impressive
32:17reliability-wise
32:18it's been pretty good
32:19as well.
32:20Don't tempt fate there.
32:22Something's going to happen now.
32:23Karun,
32:24he mentioned
32:24they're not extracting
32:25enough from the package.
32:27What do you think he meant?
32:28I think they're not happy
32:29with the setup of the car.
32:31Maybe they haven't yet
32:31fully understood
32:32how to get the most
32:35out of these new
32:35chassis regulations.
32:37I mean,
32:37we walked up
32:38and down the pit lane
32:38and there's no doubt
32:40the most amount
32:40of work that's happened
32:42is on these two cars.
32:43You know,
32:43they had the setup wheels out,
32:45Isaac Hatcher's car.
32:46They were doing work
32:47with the hydraulic lines
32:48on the rear,
32:48still working on the rear wing.
32:49You can see
32:50the rear wing actuators
32:53still exposed.
32:53They're still working
32:54on the rear of this car.
32:56They are not happy
32:57and haven't been happy
32:58with the chassis balance.
33:00Maybe they're trying
33:01to make some changes
33:02before we go to Park
33:02Fermi, of course,
33:03for qualifying
33:04to try and unlock performance
33:05for Quali and the race.
33:07OK, well,
33:08they haven't got very long
33:09to get things sorted
33:10ahead of Quali.
33:1322 minutes,
33:15in fact.
33:16The Japanese fans here
33:18really do take cuteness
33:19and creativity
33:20to a whole new level,
33:22don't they?
33:23So just over 22 minutes
33:25to go until qualifying
33:26for the Japanese Grand Prix.
33:37Welcome back to Japan
33:38and this iconic
33:39and historic circuit.
33:42Spectacular Suzuka
33:43always delivers
33:44in qualifying.
33:45So what are the key points
33:46to look out for?
33:47Karun is at the Skypad.
33:52Iconic, historic,
33:54but also great fun
33:55to drive around.
33:55I'm very jealous
33:56of these drivers, Nat.
33:57Let's look at the S's here.
33:59This was Kimi Antonelli.
34:00And look at the speed
34:01that they've got to carry
34:02through here.
34:03Just watch his hands.
34:04The energy is so important.
34:06Slow it down at this point.
34:07Getting the line right,
34:09getting the positioning right
34:10is so critical.
34:11Starting at Turn 3,
34:13the first part of the S's,
34:14all the way
34:14until this one here.
34:15And where you line up
34:17for this final part
34:18as you go uphill
34:20to Dunlop Curve
34:21is massively important
34:22this year
34:22because you have to get
34:23the traction,
34:24you have to get
34:24the acceleration
34:25up the hill
34:26to the Degna Curves
34:27and get the energy usage
34:28really, really right as well.
34:30The Degnas themselves,
34:32brilliant commitment,
34:33brave commitment
34:34needed on the way in.
34:35Let's go on board
34:36with the world champion,
34:37reigning world champion,
34:38Lando Norris.
34:38Just see the car
34:39bottom out there
34:40and then on that curb.
34:42That is perfect judgment
34:43from Lando.
34:44The bottom of the car
34:45will be touching that curb,
34:47making it a bit uncomfortable
34:48under braking.
34:49He then brings it in
34:50just under the,
34:53as we go underneath
34:53the track there.
34:55Very, very impressive.
34:56Alex Albon
34:57was struggling a little bit.
34:58Again, I'll show you
34:59as he goes through,
35:00the first bit of it was okay.
35:01But then as he got
35:02on the curb there,
35:04he didn't quite have
35:05the balance,
35:06the grip underneath him
35:07when he got on
35:08his second part of the Degna,
35:09the rear of the car
35:09came around,
35:10bit of rear locking as well
35:12and he was off
35:13into the gravel.
35:14So that was a lucky escape
35:15because he touched
35:16the barrier
35:17but got away
35:18without much damage.
35:19Let's look at it
35:19from the outside.
35:20This was yesterday
35:21in FB2.
35:23Now Spoon Curve
35:24has been a real challenge
35:26Turn 13.
35:26They've got a high-speed entry.
35:28They've come out
35:29of the hairpin,
35:29accelerated up the hill there
35:31and the wind
35:33then pushes the drivers on.
35:34It's coming behind them
35:35today,
35:36the direction that it's blowing
35:37and it just pushes
35:38the drivers wide.
35:39We've seen several of them.
35:40That was Lindblad.
35:41We've got here
35:42Charles Leclerc as well
35:43in the front.
35:43See that snap of oversteer
35:45in the first part of Spoon?
35:46That has been
35:47a massive challenge
35:48for so many drivers
35:50and that's going to be
35:51a critical factor
35:52because the wind
35:52once again
35:53feels like it's picking up
35:54and in that same direction.
35:56So it's in the least
35:58favourable direction
35:59for the drivers.
36:00It's a tailwind
36:00through the S's,
36:01a tailwind
36:02into Spoon Curve
36:03and a headwind
36:04down the long straight.
36:05Now I just want to show you
36:06the difference
36:07in acceleration
36:08between last year
36:09and this year
36:10and some of the differences
36:11between the cars as well.
36:12So on the left
36:13this is Kimi Antonelli
36:14from today,
36:15the final practice session.
36:16On the right
36:17it's the best Mercedes time
36:19from qualifying last year
36:20with George Russell.
36:21So we'll equalise them
36:22into Spoon Curve.
36:24And as we go through
36:25last year's cars
36:26had more downforce,
36:27had a bit more
36:28aerodynamic grip
36:29and you can see the benefit.
36:30George already
36:31on the exit curb,
36:32Kimi a bit further back.
36:34So he's lost
36:34two and a half tenths there
36:36Kimi Antonelli
36:37on the left
36:37to George Russell
36:38in the corner.
36:39But now watch this.
36:40They just unleash
36:41the full deployment
36:43to climb up this hill.
36:44It's quite a steep gradient
36:45and I'll use
36:46a hundred metre board
36:47up there
36:48on the right.
36:49We'll scrape up
36:50on it.
36:51There.
36:51And you see Antonelli's
36:52already at the
36:53hundred metre board.
36:54George is a long way off.
36:56They're losing
36:57six tenths
36:58on the straight
36:59on the run up
37:00with that extra
37:01extra power
37:02they've got
37:02in terms of acceleration.
37:04The cars themselves
37:04are doing
37:06330 kilometres an hour
37:07on the run up the hill.
37:08Then they have to
37:09recharge
37:09through 130R.
37:11But I'll tell you what,
37:12the lap time this morning
37:13from Antonelli
37:13at 29.3
37:14that is an equal
37:16to what we saw
37:16in qualifying for Paul
37:17in 2022
37:18the first year
37:20of that generation
37:21of car.
37:22Back to you Natalie.
37:23Thank you very much
37:23Corrine.
37:24Guys, fascinating Bernie
37:25just how nimble
37:26and agile
37:27this year's cars
37:28look by comparison.
37:29Yeah, and I think
37:29that's something
37:30that's been largely
37:31missed is exactly
37:32what Corrine
37:32pointed out there.
37:34The acceleration
37:35down the street
37:35earlier in the street
37:36they're getting to speeds
37:37that we've not seen
37:38before in any sort
37:39of generation
37:39of these cars.
37:40So that is a bit
37:41that is really
37:43incredible to see
37:44the suites.
37:44Now they have to pay
37:45for that at the end
37:45of the street
37:46but over the whole
37:48length of the street
37:48it's about a similar time
37:49so that's really
37:50impressive I think.
37:51Now you're going
37:51to be on the pit wall
37:52for us during the session
37:53pouring over the data.
37:54What insight can you
37:55give us as to the
37:56pecking order for today?
37:58Yeah, I think
37:59yesterday when you
38:00look through some
38:01of the numbers
38:02Mercedes and McLaren
38:03were very, very similar
38:04to each other.
38:05But when we have
38:06this is from P3
38:07this morning
38:08so this is when you
38:08put each driver's
38:09three best sectors
38:10together.
38:11You can see there
38:11that actually
38:12the top two
38:13doesn't change
38:13Kimi Ansinelli
38:14and George Russell
38:15then Leclerc
38:16he actually could have
38:17done a slightly better
38:18lifetime than what
38:18he achieved
38:19and Oscar Piastri
38:20so I think that
38:21that battle
38:22between Ferrari
38:23and McLaren
38:24is going to actually
38:25be very, very tight.
38:26McLaren in previous
38:28qualifiers
38:29haven't got everything
38:30out of the deployment
38:31of the engine
38:32in the car
38:33so it'll be interesting
38:33to see if this week
38:35they can do that
38:36and obviously
38:36Lewis Hamilton
38:37as we know
38:38has been trailing
38:38Charles Leclerc a little bit
38:39so again
38:40can he get the best
38:41out of it?
38:41Wow, potentially
38:42a huge day for Audi
38:43if those two
38:44can get into the top ten.
38:45Right, let's head down
38:46to Ted who's in the pit lane.
38:48Thank you very much
38:48Natalie.
38:49Yes, and since you
38:50mentioned Ferrari
38:50let's have a look down
38:51in Charles Leclerc's pit lane
38:53pit box
38:54and actually it's Leclerc
38:55who's leading Hamilton
38:56after Leclerc's
38:57very disappointing round
38:58for him
38:59the usual high standards
39:00in Shanghai
39:01looks like Leclerc
39:02is back in business
39:03here in Suzuka
39:04Hamilton also going well
39:05but as you say
39:07they're right in amongst
39:07the McLarens
39:09in terms of where
39:09they're expected to be
39:10on the grid
39:11because McLaren
39:12having a much better weekend
39:13got to tell you
39:14about Oli Behrman's car
39:15they've only just finished
39:16doing some investigation
39:17after a rather odd
39:18they thought spin
39:20he had coming out
39:21of free practice three
39:22even though
39:23the team boss
39:23just told us
39:25that Oli was taking
39:26too much speed
39:27into the corner
39:28but they have had
39:28put the car out
39:29in pieces
39:30and put it back
39:30together again
39:31talking about
39:31putting it back
39:32together again
39:32this is the work
39:33just about finishing
39:34on Ezek Hajar's
39:36Red Bull Racing car
39:38so after various bits
39:41of that car
39:41were having to be
39:42taken apart
39:43and put it back
39:43together again
39:44it looks like
39:44it's ready to go
39:45all is calm
39:46in the Mercedes pit box
39:48does George Russell
39:49have something up his sleeve
39:50to counter Kimmy Antonelli
39:52who's been playing
39:53quicker than him
39:54not by much
39:54couple of tenths
39:55here and there
39:56but Antonelli
39:57has been quicker than
39:57Russell so far
39:58this weekend
39:58but I've got a
39:59sneaky suspicion
40:00that George has got
40:01something up his sleeve
40:02as he goes into qualifying
40:04and finally we'll see
40:05what's going on
40:05at McLaren
40:06Lando Norris
40:07has had so few laps
40:08this weekend
40:09he only did 13 laps
40:11as opposed to
40:11everybody's 19 or 20
40:13in free practice three
40:13with a battery problem
40:14had a hydraulics problem
40:15yesterday
40:16but here is Lando
40:17the reigning world champion
40:18just by his car
40:19looks like they're just
40:20finishing doing a little
40:21battery check to his car
40:22it looks okay
40:23yes it's at a bit
40:24of an angle
40:25that you wouldn't expect
40:25it seeing
40:26going out into the
40:27pit lane
40:28but that car will be
40:28finished soon
40:29Natalie
40:29and out ready for qualifying
40:32well that is good news
40:34Ted
40:34thank you
40:35Lando Norris
40:36P6 in the third
40:37and final practice session
40:38just how
40:40how difficult is it
40:42to go to a circuit
40:42like this
40:43and put together
40:44that single
40:45that brilliance
40:46when you haven't had
40:46that much running
40:47yeah this is the circuit
40:48where it's all about
40:49driver confidence
40:50particularly through
40:51that high speed section
40:52S as we've seen
40:52Karin go through
40:53in the skypad earlier
40:54so he missed a significant
40:56amount of running
40:56yesterday
40:57he missed some running
40:58again this morning
40:59he did get his soft
41:00lap in at the end
41:01so he has had some practice
41:03hopefully the car
41:04is fast enough
41:04to go through
41:05Q1 and Q2
41:06and that's more learning
41:07for him before he gets
41:08that all important
41:09Q3 lap
41:09but it is about
41:11building up to it here
41:12taking a little bit more
41:13lap on lap on lap
41:14adding a little bit
41:15of speed where he can
41:16and he's just
41:17going to feel a little bit
41:19on the back foot
41:19and from a team perspective
41:21how concerning is reliability
41:23we've had a few examples
41:25given that we've only had
41:26two rounds of racing so far
41:27well yeah
41:28if you think of the McLaren
41:29of previous few seasons
41:30to have had two cars
41:31not start race two
41:33is unbelievable
41:34really isn't it
41:35so
41:36the last time it happened
41:37consecutive do not start
41:381969
41:40Bruce McLaren
41:41ironic that
41:42good stance
41:42so like
41:43it's just
41:44all of the teams
41:45have been plagued
41:47by some sort of
41:48reliability
41:49and no car
41:50is immune to it
41:51so all of them
41:52are trying to find
41:53these nickels
41:54before they happen
41:55before they have
41:56that sort of
41:57critical experience
41:58of not starting a race
42:00or missing out
42:00a qualifying lap
42:01you know
42:02Mercedes had it last week
42:03or China in qualifying
42:05the front wing
42:06did work as expected
42:06so
42:08all of the teams
42:09are hoping
42:09that they get cleanly
42:10through this qualifying
42:11and how does a team
42:12manage traffic
42:13at a circuit
42:13as narrow as this
42:15yeah it's pretty tricky
42:16qualifying actually becomes
42:18the more you go through
42:18qualifying
42:19easier and easier
42:19because there's less cars
42:20on track
42:21and the teams
42:22and drivers
42:23have had three sessions
42:24of practice
42:24at that as well
42:25so I think
42:27that the teams
42:27it's just about talking
42:28to your driver
42:28you just need to keep
42:29at them all the time
42:30I tell you what
42:31Kimi Antonelli
42:31looks very calm
42:32perhaps that first win
42:34under his belt
42:35has just been
42:36a little gear shift
42:37it'll definitely bring
42:38him a lot of confidence
42:39and he loves this track
42:40so I think that
42:41he will feel
42:43particularly through
42:43those sessions
42:44very confident
42:45going into qualifying
42:46fantastic stuff
42:47okay
42:48will Kimi Antonelli
42:49put it on pole
42:50here in Suzuka
42:52will George Russell
42:53have something to say
42:54about that
42:55Ferrari will certainly
42:56help him to be
42:57in the mix
42:58as well
42:58as will McLaren
43:00join us
43:01for qualifying
43:01for the Japanese Grand Prix
43:03next
43:13I've grown up
43:14dreaming of being
43:14able to drive
43:15this circuit
43:17yeah
43:18radio check
43:20sector one
43:21is for sure
43:21the best part
43:22it's where the car
43:23comes alive
43:25radio check
43:26radio check
43:28this is one of
43:29the best tracks
43:30in the world
43:33this track
43:34is a very big
43:34challenge
43:38it's an unbelievable
43:39track to drive
43:40at
43:44there's no
43:45weak corners
43:46they're all fucked
43:53the coolest track
43:54of the car
43:55so it's going to be
43:56really exciting
43:56to race around
43:57here
43:58feels incredible
43:59when you're calling
44:00and you're pushing
44:00into the limits
44:01I don't think
44:01you can ever ruin
44:02this track
44:30that's going to be
44:32to keep their own
44:32you're trying to
44:32and they're going to be
