00:00Israel's defense minister says attacks on Iran will escalate and expand if Tehran doesn't stop firing missiles at the civilian
00:08population.
00:09Meanwhile, President Trump is keen to negotiate. But do you think right now Israel has other ideas?
00:17Thanks for having me, Ligian.
00:19Well, I think eventually the Israeli government will, my sense is the Israelis will listen to whatever Trump agrees on
00:30with Iran.
00:31However, I do agree there are some signs of divergence on how things are going so far.
00:39For example, and as your former guest mentioned, that Trump does prefer not to have troops on the ground.
00:49He knows that Trump, like we know that Trump is not in favor of having American troops invade in Iran.
00:56And he leans more towards negotiating the way out.
01:02I think there is a realization now that the goals that Trump and the Israelis set, they're very hard to
01:11achieve as they envisioned.
01:13So at this point, it is true that most of the like a lot of Iranians infrastructure is destroyed.
01:20So that will delay Iranian goals eventually.
01:24So, however, I do think that Benjamin Netanyahu leans towards stretching this, that will give him a little bit of
01:35leeway on time to keep destructing Iran infrastructure, hoping that eventually that will either prevent or delay Iran from having
01:44their new nuclear capabilities.
01:47So the bottom line, I think we see an interest by the United States to end the war as soon
01:54as possible with achieving the U.S. interest in the region and the global economy, especially opening the Straits and
02:03delaying Iran's nuclear capabilities.
02:08However, I think the Israelis will try to push to delay this negotiation to destruct as much as possible.
