00:02In the wake of the murders of Renee Good and Alex Preddy,
00:07Senate Democrats were clear, no blank check for a lawless ICE and border patrol.
00:15This long overdue agreement funds TSA, the Coast Guard, FEMA, CISA,
00:22strengthens security at the border and the ports of entry, and keeps Americans safe.
00:27This could have been accomplished weeks ago if Republicans hadn't stood in the way.
00:33Democrats held firm in our opposition that Donald Trump's rogue and deadly militia
00:40should not get more funding without serious reforms,
00:44and we will continue to fight for those reforms.
00:48I'm very proud of our Democratic caucus.
00:51Throughout it all, Senate Democrats stood united,
00:55no wavering, no backing down.

01:12Mr. President, President Trump recently announced that he has found a way to provide relief
01:19for tens of thousands of TSA officers currently working without pay.
01:23And thanks to his actions, the money to pay them will start flowing immediately.
01:27I'm grateful, and I suspect that every American traveler will be grateful,
01:32that the President has found a way to address the terrible situation at U.S. airports
01:35and finally give TSA officers the pay that they're owed.
01:39But, Mr. President, President Trump should never have had to step in to rescue TSA workers
01:45and U.S. air travel.
01:48We are here because, thanks to Democrats' determined refusal to reach an agreement,
01:54there will be no Homeland Security funding bill this year.
01:57Instead, just a few minutes ago, Republicans funded the Department of Homeland Security piecemeal.
02:03This is not the way to fund the Department, Mr. President.
02:06But we are out of time for the critical responsibilities
02:09and tens of thousands of workers currently going without pay.
