A major new exhibition at Williamson Art Gallery will explore Paul O’Grady’s career and personal archive. Organisers say it will highlight his impact on entertainment, activism and animal welfare.

00:01A major exhibition celebrating the life of entertainer Paul O'Grady will open in his
00:06hometown of Birkenhead later this year. The Paul O'Grady story will launch at the
00:12Williamson Art Gallery on the 4th of December. Organisers say it will explore his career on
00:16screen and his private archive. The exhibition will also highlight his role as an LGBTQIA plus
00:23figure, broadcaster and animal welfare campaigner. It's supported by funding from the National Lottery
00:29Heritage Fund. World Council is working with collaborators, including O'Grady's late husband,
00:34where the commitment from his estate to keep access free,
00:37community events are also planned alongside the main exhibition programme.
