01:17Yeah, but I never got to see it like this.
01:19On Canto Bight, Kay really became a skilled thief alongside Nyx.
01:25She was in her element.
01:27Nice lift, Nyx.
01:28The moment that she enters the underworld for the first time,
01:32she realises she is a small fish in a very big galactic pond.
01:38But at the same time, she has something to offer.
01:41Look at that.
01:42Things like breaking in, stealing, slicing computer terminals,
01:47lockpicking, sabotaging, escaping.
01:49It's all really at the heart of the experience.
01:54Kay sees the galaxy is rigged against people like her.
01:59When that's the case, it's very hard to trust others.
02:02Who are you?
02:03Kay and Nyx may not trust anybody else,
02:05but now they're paying off to trust someone new
02:08so that they can pull off the biggest heist the galaxy has ever seen.
02:16ND5 is a BX commando droid.
02:18These were the elite fighting forces for the Separatists during the Clone Wars.
02:22And ND5 finds himself carrying the scars from that battle,
02:26but wondering what is it he's supposed to be today.
02:29And that's how we meet him in Star Wars Outlaws.
02:31I'm just a battle droid.
02:33Infiltrate and terminate. Nothing else.
02:35ND5 is a veteran in the Underworld.
02:39He's been around for so many years,
02:42so he understands how the Syndicates work and how the Empire works,
02:46but he's lacking an awareness of humans,
02:49and that's where Kay Vess can compliment him.
02:51I don't trust anyone.
02:53Ah, not even me.
02:54Kay and ND5, they're gonna have to learn to trust one another
02:58if they're going to overcome one of the most dangerous criminal overlords in the galaxy.
03:04Star Wars definitely has some of the most iconic villains,
03:09and at first, I'll admit it, it's daunting.
03:11I think most important of all, it really came down to Kay.
03:15Who is a counterpoint to Kay?
03:20Suero is everything Kay isn't.
03:22He's rich, he knows what he wants, and he has an army behind him.
03:27His character, his personality, his backstory influence how he presents himself.
03:32It's a golden age for the Underworld.
03:35We're getting an antagonist that is really giving us a window into how the Underworld works,
03:42and just how ruthless, just how dangerous the Underworld is.
03:47Suero runs the most lethal Syndicate I've ever seen, and he wants you gone.
03:52Zarek Besh have taken the galaxy by storm,
03:55and they're really making the other Syndicates take notice.
03:58So in their design, we really got a lot of inspiration out of mercenaries.
04:03They have access to the best equipment.
04:06You don't want to be in their path.
04:10If you enter the Underworld of Star Wars, you have to do justice to the Syndicates.
04:16In bringing the Hutt Cartel, or the Pykes, or the Crimson Dawn to life in a game,
04:21we need to work together with Massive to flesh them out,
04:24their outfits, their blasters, what their hideouts might look like.
04:28We've brought every one of those details to life in a way we've never done before.
04:34Star Wars Outlaws is about Kay facing off against some of the most notorious criminal Syndicates in the galaxy.
04:41And one of those Syndicates is Crimson Dawn, led by Kira.
04:45And if we want freedom, we have to be prepared to make some tough choices.
04:49Lady Kira, she's very elegant, she's very stylish, but very much in the shadows.
04:55And we try to use that look for the design of the Crimson Dawn.
04:59You want to be authentic to the Syndicates that fans may have seen before,
05:05but also you want to introduce new Syndicates.
05:11The Shiga clan are of the Milito species that is very hierarchical.
05:18This is a clan that really works for the collective of the Hive.
05:24And they are based on the ice planet of Kijimi.
05:30Kijimi has a lot of Japanese influences.
05:33We incorporated those influences in the Shiga clan design.
05:38For example, kimono-inspired outfits.
05:42The Milito, they're blind.
05:44So they favor textures and sounds over color and lights.
05:50And you will see that in all of their designs.
05:53They've embedded metallic pieces on the floor to feel where they're going.
05:57Everything they're using, including their weapons, has these tactile elements.
06:03Beyond these walls, it's war.
06:06You want to survive? Know the players.
06:09One of the things that we're incredibly proud of is the reputation system.
06:14The choices that you'll make to craft your relationship with each one of the criminal Syndicates.
06:20Ensuring that every story in Star Wars Outlaws is your own.
06:25Here you live and die by your reputation.
06:28The reputation system is really about opening and closing opportunities with these Syndicates.
06:33This is not about allegiance with one Syndicate and staying with it forever.
06:38It's about playing the Underworld to your benefit.
06:40And how do I know Crimson Dawn won't burn me after I pull this off?
06:43The impact, your current reputation with the Syndicate, will be felt in a lot of different ways.
06:49From them giving you little discounts, access to special jobs.
06:53They might let you into territory and districts you otherwise wouldn't have access to.
06:57On the flip side, if you're not in their good graces, they can actually represent active danger to you.
07:14I'm really proud of how we managed to create this enormous breadth of experience.
07:22When players play Star Wars Outlaws, they're stepping into the hive of scum and villainy.
07:28You'll be immersed in a galaxy of opportunity and danger.
07:33You can expect a lot of adventure and thrill.
07:36Living that lifestyle of a scoundrel and exploring an open world.
