00:00And I want to ask you about the sort of language that we've been hearing from the Trump administration,
00:05notably from the president and from Pete Hegseth.
00:08We had a guest yesterday who sort of called it video gaming language,
00:13implying perhaps it sounded sometimes slightly crass.
00:16What are your thoughts?
00:19Well, crass is a kind way to put it, right?
00:22The language is one of dominance, violence, and whimsy or kind of adolescent braggadocio, right?
00:36They're putting out videos that splice shots of U.S. fighter aircraft bombing Iran
00:48with, you know, people playing Tour of Duty video games.
00:55And, you know, it's as if their target audience is 18-year-olds.
01:02It is so far, Tom, outside of anything any president has ever done,
01:09anything I've ever experienced in government or, you know, outside of government.
01:14It's its own crazy, twisted way of communicating.
01:20And obviously there's an audience for it, but I don't think it's an audience within the military.
01:25I'm hearing people are aghast at that stuff.
01:29And, you know, but they're also aghast that Pete Hegseth is the Secretary of Defense.
01:34Thank you, I love you, guys.
