00:02Oh, breaking news, friend of mine. I kid you not. I literally had a text chain with him a couple
00:08days ago.
00:08The New York Mets have officially signed Tommy Pham to a minor league contract, which now begs the question.
00:15Oh, what? I'm sorry. What? This is insane. Okay. This makes a lot of sense. Very quickly, this makes a
00:20lot of sense.
00:21The Mets want stability. They want certainty a bit for their outfield.
00:24They know that outside of what they have in Carson Mendes right now, they really don't have that stability because
00:29Mike Tuchman's out with injury.
00:30Tommy Pham, I literally just saw training, running 26 miles per hour at the age of 38.
00:37The guy's a bulldog. Okay. He's a straight shooter. Love Tommy. Had a great time interacting with him at the
00:422023 season with the Mets.
00:44He was the most clutch hitter for the Mets in 2023.
00:46He was literally the most viable option for them when they needed someone to come up late in the ballgame
00:51up until he was treated the Arizona Diamondbacks for a teenage prospect at that deadline.
00:56Fast forward three years later, and the New York Mets have signed the 38-year-old Tommy Pham.
01:01I can't believe I'm saying that. What an awesome breaking news announcement to share today.
01:05Tommy, don't expect too much contactability. He's going to be a guy that's going to be fairly juggling high with
01:10the offense.
01:11Again, he's almost 40 years of age. He knows his role. He's going to be in a platoon setting.
01:14But what I love most about Tommy Pham, this goes back to his remarks when he got traded by the
01:18Mets last year, pardon me, in 2023.
01:20He stated the following, that the core of position players that he worked with was the least hardworking group of
01:27players he'd ever been a part of his entire Major League career.
