Savannah Guthrie is speaking out for the first time since her mother's disappearance…and revealing the fear that her own fame may have made her family a target. In an emotional interview with 'Today' colleague Hoda Kotb, Guthrie opened up about the moment she learned her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, had gone missing from her Tucson, Arizona home on February 1.

00:30home on February 1st. Her phone was there and her purse was there and all her things it was just
00:37chaos and disbelief. The long time today co-anchor recalled that her brother a former fighter pilot
00:43quickly suspected a possible kidnapping for ransom prompting Guthrie to ask the question she says
00:49she already knew the answer to. Even on the phone when I called him he knew and he said I
00:57think
00:57she's been kidnapped. While authorities have not confirmed a motive, Guthrie admitted it's a
01:02possibility she can't ignore. To think that I brought this to her bedside that it's because of me.
01:11Guthrie also said she believes two ransom notes received early in the investigation were real.
01:16The interview also touched on chilling evidence recovered by investigators including images and
01:20video of a suspected kidnapper. I mean it's just absolutely terrifying. It's just totally terrifying
01:29and I can't imagine that that is who she saw standing over her bed. In a second part of the
01:39conversation Guthrie spoke about leaning on her faith during the ongoing ordeal. Even sharing a moment
01:44what she believes was a message from God. So whether she's on this earth still
01:50or whether she is in heaven, I know where she is. I know who she's with. But we need to
02:00know.
02:01Nancy Guthrie remains missing with no proof of life. The case is being investigated by the Pima County
02:06Sheriff's Office and the FBI. Savannah Guthrie has been off the air since her mother's disappearance,
02:10though she's expected to return to today at a later date. The Guthrie family is now offering
02:15a $1 million reward for information leading to Nancy's recovery. More of Guthrie's interview
