Evan says Yankee fans should have felt a sense of comfort on Opening Day.

00:00And one of the criticisms that the Yankees faced during the offseason
00:03is that they're the same team and they were running it back.
00:05Yeah.
00:05But what I kind of liked watching them,
00:07and obviously scoring seven runs helps and beating up Logan Webb helps,
00:10is that I kind of know what they are, and I feel good about that.
00:14They scored more runs than any team in the American League.
00:16And really, barring injury or something crazy, nothing should change that.
00:19I know who the New York Yankees are.
00:21Now, there are things that could change from last year.
00:23Grisham may not be as good.
00:24Ben Rice may be better.
00:25More production out of third base.
00:27Trust me, there are factors that could be different.
00:30But there was almost like old reliable, watching the Yankees last night.
00:33Like, oh, yeah, I know this team.
00:35Yeah.
00:36What I, and I don't want to use the word fear because it's going to come across negative.
00:40What's confusing about the Mets is that this team is so freaking different.
00:46Different as far as new.
00:47Everything.
00:48Dude, look at the lineup.
00:50The lineup got posted, and I have some critiques of the lineup,
00:54but I'll do that a little bit later on.
00:55Other than Lindor and Soto, what's the same?
01:00The answer is literally nothing.
01:02Nothing.
01:02Right.
01:03Jorge Polanco.
01:04Let's go piece by piece.
01:05Beau Bichette, new to the team.
01:06Jorge Polanco, new to the team.
01:08Luis Robert Jr., new to the team.
01:10Brett Beatty felt like a quadruple-A player last year.
01:13Marcus Simeon, new to the team.
01:14Carson Benj, barely knew who he was.
01:17New to the team.
01:18Francisco Alvarez, eye out.
01:20Like, this is such a different team, and it doesn't mean they won't be good.
01:24It doesn't mean they won't be great.
01:26It just means it feels like there's such a fluctuation on what could possibly happen.
01:30I feel like the Yankees are just so unreliable, and watching them last night was a reminder.
01:34And I look at this lineup, and I think about this team, and I think about the offseason,
01:38and they could literally win 80 games and go 80 at 82, or they could win 103 games.
01:44Like, there is such an extreme, to me at least, you tell me if I'm wrong, there's like this extreme,
01:49this could go either way.
01:51They could be far better than the Yankees.
01:53They could be far worse.
01:55To me, the Yankees are the Yankees.
01:56They're going to win in the 90s.
01:57They're really good.
