A record setting night!
Transcript
00:00So Jeff is back with us this morning on the Andy's Summer Show after spending the week in Vegas so
00:07that he and his wife can visit some family and see the opening night of Luke Combs' My Kind of
00:12Saturday Night Tour.
00:13Oh my gosh, friends. It was unbelievable.
00:18I bet it was.
00:19So obviously, Emily and I, we danced to Beautiful Crazy for our first dance. Luke Combs is Emily's favorite.
00:25If you remember, Donnie remembers as well, we sat in nosebleeds when she was 38 and a half weeks pregnant
00:31with McKinley at his last stadium tour back in 2023.
00:37120 degrees that day.
00:38Oh my gosh, it was so hot.
00:40All the bad stuff.
00:41Like a hurricane.
00:42And so now she's 29, almost 30 weeks pregnant, and we decided to go see him again.
00:48She was definitely, it was a more enjoyable concert going experience for her.
00:54Good.
00:54But it was insane.
00:55She's pregnant, but not as pregnant.
00:56The crowd was great.
00:57He played in the round.
00:59It was amazing.
01:00Yeah, and you were not alone there.
01:02Not only in person, but in spirit, right?
01:05Right.
01:05Like people loved that show.
01:0770,921 people showed up to opening night at Allegiant Stadium, which tops the venue's previous record of 70,482
01:17for the Alvarez Crawford fight last September.
01:21Wow.
01:21That number also marks the biggest indoor crowd at any concert event in Nevada history.
01:28Whoa.
01:29For context.
01:30There you go.
01:31More people packed Allegiant Stadium to see Luke Combs perform than for any Raiders game.
01:36Yep.
01:37Super Bowl 58, which was in February 2024.
01:42That had 61,000.
01:44Right.
01:45And either night of WrestleMania last year.
01:47Wow.
01:48Allegiant Stadium can hold up to 72,000 people for special events.
01:52Standard capacity is 65,000.
01:54Right?
01:5465,000 when no one's in the bowl.
01:56Right.
01:56Like when no one's on the field.
01:58Right?
01:58But 72,000.
01:59Yeah.
01:59So he did 70,921.
02:02Wow.
02:02They were 1,000 people short of it being like sardines in that place.
02:08It was incredible.
02:10The show, Luke, is amazing.
02:12His tour is not making a lot of stops in the United States.
02:16We were actually looking at it between one of the openers and we were so sad.
02:21Yeah.
02:21But one of our favorites, Dierks Bentley, opened for him as well.
02:24Oh, wow.
02:25What?
02:25Dierks open for Luke?
02:28Exactly what I'm getting at.
02:30How?
02:30And people are out there.
02:31It was packed.
02:32You know how commonly at shows, like not a lot of people are in for the openers.
02:36Right, right.
02:36There was quite a few openers before and then Dierks came on and it was like a full-on show.
02:42So is this going to be the next Kenny Chesney?
02:44Like not the same vibe that Kenny does, but Luke can bring in those big names and pack that place
02:51before he even gets on stage.
02:53And he played hits.
02:55Yeah.
02:55He didn't play the hits, he smashed it, he came out with a new album, but he really played a
02:59couple cuts from there.
03:00But really, playing the hits, if you have a chance to travel to go see this show, I highly recommend
03:04it.
03:05That's awesome.
03:06Amazing.
